Probably Exists[edit]
This is another one that has some info on guildwiki. Apparently it's supposed to be an effect that hits you for 113 five times if you walk behind a furnace object in Sorrow's Furnace, but I haven't been there personally yet so I don't really know much about it. --Star Weaver 15:11, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- While you can use info from GuildWiki to figure out info about it, you can't copy it, right? You'd have to do see if it's in-game before placing it here? --JonTheMon 15:13, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- It's only the expression that is copyright, not the facts. I don't think you actually have to verify the facts personally before you can write about them. It's probably good practice, though I doubt I'll have an opportunity to go die behind the great forge anytime soon :D. But for example, I did not verify that Life Drain is the effect placed on you in wherever in Urgoz's Warren as I don't have a character that's gotten farther that Vizuneh's entrance, but I combined the fact that our article on Urgoz's mentions the effect without specifics and the stuff mentioned on Guildwiki's page on the effect itself and wrote my own description of it. The fact that killing the tree will end the effect is in our article somewhere, too, so. I didn't bother attempting to emulate or even speculate on a helpful hint for the area because it's not a fact so much as a conclusion, and I haven't seen the area myself.
- As far as I know, the only time that "I looked at X and wrote something based on the same concepts" is when the concepts being copied are plots and other creative products rather than objective facts; this is why there's been so much bother about fanfiction between some fandoms and authors. --Star Weaver 17:48, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- The problem with these kind of effects is that they r in a place that doesn't attract players. Take for example Extensive Plague Exposure from Dragon's Throat, a player will gain nothing by doing that mission, so they never bother doing it, same with Sorrow's Furnace. The challenge missions of NF and EotN are somewhat more popular cause of the hero armor upgrades. --MageMontu 15:54, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Very late response but...no sorrows furnace=no black moa chick :p Super Range Ranger 15:21, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
- Even later response, but given the icon and description looks the same as Sorrow's Flame, I'd say it was involved in the Black Moa Chick quest The Forge Heart. Whether it's dependent on having the incubator or just a name-change, I don't know,--Tong2 01:00, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
