Talk:Celestial Sigil
I heard a rumour that sigils won in Heroes Ascent will give your guild flags with its cape logo, while those purchased from the trader do not. Is this true? And if it is true, will it work if you trade the HA sigil to someone else, who can then use it to change the guildhall? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Nicky Silverstar .
No, that is as likely as me suddenly sprouting wings by drinking red bull. Readem Promote My Ban Here 06:28, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you very much for the information. Nicky Silverstar 06:47, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
So, can anyone confirm that a won one actualy does anything different at all, or just has difrent value line (or none at all till identified)..
Because yeh, as far as I have known, you have always gotten guild emblems on flags in GvG / skirmishes, ever since guild wars started almost, wether the sigil was bought or won.
The rumor seems to be more that you get it as a permanant GUILD HALL thing (not just while in battles). But so far no one seems to be able to show proof, also, it is quite easy to use a program like 'TexMod' to make it look that way, our guild has had our cape on the red hall flags for a while now via this method, (of corse it only shows to us). But I could quite easily take a screenshot and claim it was from a sigil.. So yeh, looks like we need someone like Gaile to give the yay or nay on this one for full proof..

Out of stock[edit]
Okay, these things are out of stock and HA is dead. What are you supposed to do if you want to buy a Guild hall but you don't want to pay the current overpriced market value (with prices ranging from a mere 20k to ridiculously high amounts of money like 50 Ectos-according to the argos estimator),I hope anet will do something about it because having to pay so much money for a Guild Hall isn't fun anymore-it's not like people starting with Gw have enough cash to afford chaos gloves, too. IMO some things should never be "sold out". SuperRobertWa 22:07, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- "Funny" thing is, these are worthless, at least to me. I've saved a single one, in case my guild wanted a new GH in the near future(and something like this happened). When I go to the sigil trader and press "sell", it says she will buy them for 49k(think that's the maximum limit value from vendors?). But when I press the "request quote", it says 1 platinum. I havn't tested to see if she only pays 1k for it, but I am curious as to how much she will actually pay. Gaudy Gourd God 22:35, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- I've got like 30 from back when I played tombs, I'll sell if you want one :3 -Auron 01:34, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- Wait, ok, can anyone confirm that it isn't actually just "sold out" right now? The support team thinks that's the case [1] --Starfleck 03:23, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, but that's the crux - they only come from HA, and HA has been dead since I stopped playing years ago. The NPC doesn't generate new ones, it only gets them from people selling them. If nobody is playing HA, nobody is selling to NPC, so it runs out and stays out, which is why it's sold out. -Auron 03:44, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah Auron I'd like to buy one. I'll contact you ingame? SuperRobertWa 07:13, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- So, because the folks who enjoy HA aren't enjoying it anymore (or whatever the issue is), we're all bereft of the ability to buy guild halls. This problem affects EVERY PLAYER interested in a guild hall. Although this isn't game breaking, I consider this a serious problem considering how many it affects. ArenaNet, please fix this. May I suggest making sigils a set price of 2-6k or whatever is reasonable (I'm no expert as to what vision was intended for guild halls- only for the veterans and/or the super rich? Hey, it is an entire island. XD) and removing the economy aspect of the item, like lockpicks and other common merchant items? AngrytheKid 07:20, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

- If you want ANet to fix it, you have two choices:
- Report it as a bug on the official forums (although I'm sure we will be told the mechanic is working as intended, you could argue that a mechanic that depends on people playing a certain way is broken if people behave differently).
- Make a formal suggestion to introduce another mechanism for adding sigils into the economy (I would think a large amount of Imperial Faction would be comparable, for example.)
- ANet won't be reading this article or its talk page. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:08, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, but before suggesting something to developers, it would be nice to have some kind of consensus here (it's not a discussion forum, but anyway). I think that direct exchange for Imperial/Kurzick/Luxons factions is a good idea. Another idea is Zaishen currency: instead of buying overpriced Envoy vanity weapons, players may gladly prefer paying the reasonable amount of gold coins for Sigils. --Slavic 08:46, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
- If you want ANet to fix it, you have two choices:
- There's nothing wrong with offering a suggestion and discussing it on the relevant talk page. I think a lot of folks would support one or more of your ideas above (zoins and imperial faction seem like reasonable methods to pay for sigils — actually, they make a lot more sense than requiring PvE players to pay PvPers to start a guild). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 09:35, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
Now that you can get them for 3 gold zcoins, this whole thread is obsolete, right?--98.114.178.61 04:06, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- Right. Although I still have a fair few I'd be willing to sell for less than 3 gold zoins! -Auron 06:59, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
Description[edit]
Does the Celestial Sigil have an in-game description (i.e. when you hover your cursor over the inventory icon)? If so, could someone add it to the article? --Silver Edge 04:20, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- None that I know of, I'll check in a bit but I think it's blank. -Auron 04:32, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

2 for 1[edit]
Interesting find. Someone says they salvaged 2 coins from 1 sigil: https://www.reddit.com/r/GuildWars/comments/qmf7oq/2_golden_zcoins_from_a_single_sigil/ Gladiator Motoko (talk) 15:55, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
