We seriously need new Competitive Missions. Or something to make luxons come to Fort Aspenwood.--72.64.54.89 08:35, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Fixing Competitive Missions[edit]

I think it would be very enlightening for someone at Anet to take a look at what's happening in Fort Aspenwood. There's a constant problem of leeches and leavers on the luxon side. The leavers are obvious: the kurzicks come over to get games going (since there are so few luxon) and then leave. There are enough kurzicks to rotate out so no one ends up getting enough dishonor to be restricged from play. Then there are the recurring leeches whom I run into every night. A simple look though some logs of leech reports at FA should expose who the perpetrators are. Really, why does Anet think there are so few luxon there? Maybe because the kurzicks end up winning all the time? Suggest that ppl try to go to Jade Quarry and the Kurzicks laugh at you...they know they have an advantage in numbers in FA, and feel they have a tactical advantage there too. All the kurzicks need is a couple fairly competent monks on their side and the game is locked up for them. Especially when the luxon are down 1-3 people.

My suggestion is to close FA. Maybe not permanently, but for a month or so. This would force everyone to JQ for that time, and clear out the problematic mappers that show up whenever there's a game going on there. Get people in the habit of playing JQ.

I'm saying this because RA is just no fun for me. And despite the constant failure I run into at FA, I like it a lot. It can be fun when there's no griefers. Anet is probably eyeballs deep in GW2, but a little TLC for the competitive missions would be much appreciated. Garrick 05:56, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

I agree there is a MAJOR problem with leeches and leech bots in Aspenwood. I can name many leeches that run bots every day just by playing part time.

Leavers are also a problem.

The solution to jade quarry is to increase the rewards. The only time people go there is on some weekends. The rest of the time its empty.

lol I had to laugh at the one comment above saying how Kurz are screwing Luxons out of wins. This weekend, I was on a team in Fort Aspenwood (Kurzick) and their was a "poser" (Spirit Spam Ranger) from the Luxons that was casting EoE near our people and NPCs and it almost cost us the match. You Luxons are blaming all of your losses on the Kurzicks for sabotage. Why don't you guys just accept your losses? Also, on that thought, I was in Jade Quarry this weekend as well doing some PVP and in a 5 hour time frame, Luxons kicked Kurzicks a** because I played that whole time frame and only got 2 wins. Us Kurz have bad times too. Its part of the game. You win some you lose some. IF you know for a fact someone is from Kurz sabotaging, why not report him or her so that they won't earn any faction, plus possibly get dishonorable? On another note, frankly I am tired of all the leechers, bots, and leavers I have seen in JQ. Leavers are a major issue in FA as well (not leechers so much). I hate reporting too many people as A Net has said abuse of the feature could result in your account being banned, but what are we supposed to do? Closing FA won't do any good to solve the issues of sabotage. That would be like me or other Kurz saying close The Jade Quarry. All we can do is continue to try our best to make our builds better and have fun. Complaining about each other's alliance doesn't help the issues at hand which are LEECHERS, BOTS, & LEAVERS...Shiva Eluluu

Accurate?[edit]

Of the two competitive missions, Fort Aspenwood currently tends to be more popular and active among players.

Is this still true? JQ seems to be more active to me.198.37.19.148 19:15, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

I agree, plus, I don't see the point in even having that comment 81.86.254.13 01:48, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

make waiting better?[edit]

ok so for kurz at-least, idk bout lux, the wait time for these things is like 10 min on a good day, i think to make up for the really long wait there should be a faction gain when ever the no opposing party joined message popped up, even if its just like 10 or maybe 100 if anet is feeling nice, or 50 if there not feeling so nice but just that kinda state where your like sure w/e, and to prevent people from like just canceling and starting counter over, the gain is stopped until your next match if you press cancel...imo it would make the competitive missions a little bit betterAurenX 00:12, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Thats a good idea actually. It can't be exploited and should only should be given to those who don't have dishonor and have the waiting for next battle box active. A ten minute wait means for 10 mins a 200, 1000, or 2000 faction (going by your suggestion). Thats good. Why doesn't anybody care? I know it won't happen but if there is enough noise....... --SuperPudz Miniature Juggernaut.png 14:05, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
While this might sound like a nice compensation for those 'eager to fight', this can easily be exploited. If the opposing team is already lower in numbers and there is no incentive for them to join a fight, the faction of the active team gets even more popular as they are collecting points just by waiting. This would result in even more guilds from the opposing team into switching their faction. You'd end up with people AFK farming points for matches that have not taken place. This would be arguably even worse than the teams resign spiking in turn to gain points without actually fighting. 91.39.195.41 08:30, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
