Talk:Courier Falken
Not sure how to create[edit]
So, I went out to NKP.. and had him spawn, with brawling skills. Follow him, keep him alive and when he gets to Nebo Terrace portal he'll have a ! talk to him, and he gives 200xp 500gp and 10 War Supplies. Screenie coming after I'm done with in game stuff I'm doing atm - 64.180.192.76 00:45, 22 May 2010 (UTC) <- Was me, forgot again to log in. - Stimpson J Kat 00:58, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Falken Punch. Backsword 00:47, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- I've found him. This is pretty much a minigame. Reminds me of Kilroy in the Far Shiverpeaks. There is also extra WM spawns with him. Backsword 01:19, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- so, no screenie needed? - Stimpson J Kat 01:34, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Nah. Thanks anyway. Backsword 02:04, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

It seems that having a " Wanted " quest open helps to increase the odds that Falken will spawn. (Jaxx Hammer)--173.16.56.248 14:43, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Skills[edit]
Brawling block
Brawling Jab
Brawling Combo Punch
Brawling Straight Right
Falken Punch
Dash
Brawling Uppercut
-- Stimpson J Kat 01:04, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
It seems that Falken Punch does 100 damage. --198.53.246.127 01:15, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
Spawn areas[edit]
It seems he spawns just outside of these places in both Normal and Hard mode
Watchtower Coast (from Beetletun), North Kyrta Province(From Lions Arch), and Nebo Terrace (From Bergen Hot Springs)
Does he appear anywhere else? --198.53.246.127 01:22, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Watchtower Coast (Divinity Coast --> Beetletun) Alleycat 15:54, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- He spawns at all portals of the areas i think... divinity coast > beetletun and vice versa. Sjacie 11:56, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- I tried to spawn him from D'Alessio Seaboard and he never showed in all the zoning I did. I don't think he spawns at all portals inside North Kryta. Kyubiko 02:03, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Any requirements for him to spawn? Rezoned maybe 10 times and still nothing.
Any particular place that we have to walk to, to get him to spawn, or will he automaticaly be there?
- Probably watch a lot of the dialogues of War in Kryta. Sjacie 12:02, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- He randomly spawns immediately by the entrance of the zone which you just entered. The requirements needed for him to begin spawning is currently under research. --Musha 17:18, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Proposal[edit]
This needs it's own page, this is effectivly a minigame and should not all be pressed in to a NPCs page. His precense causes other sdpawns and so on. Backsword 01:31, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Not really. The mini game is just following him around. Essencially, the only thing on this page which is for the minigame is the note on the reward and the dialogue once finished. Everything else is Falken. -- Konig/talk 01:41, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- No, there are spawns, routes and so on. Backsword 01:45, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Do it the same way Kilroy is handled, then- put him on the NPC spawn list for the area and make a note in the enemy list if Mantle spawn that wouldn't normally spawn in the area, but otherwise keep all the info on Falken's page. 68.118.250.100 01:57, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- I see your point, but I thnk it's just too much nonstandard info for a NPC page. Backsword 03:30, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Delivery man, delivery man...[edit]
Anyone else had ye olde Spiderman tune running through his head while reading that quote?--Fighterdoken 01:35, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- After the first few words, I automatically had the tune playing in the back of my mind. I ended up singing he phrase, not just reading it.-- Pyron Sy 01:38, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
I automaticly thought Particle Man until I saw the rest.
Reward[edit]
The reward is different depending on where you escort him from.
- From Lion's Arch in North Kryta Province - 500g 2500exp and 10 War Supplies.
- From Bergen Hot Springs in Nebo Terrace - 1000g (I forget) and 12 War Supplies.
I haven't done the other ones yet, so I don't know what they give. --Curse You(talk|contribs) 02:02, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Confirmed. 86.1.219.155 02:04, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Interesting thing, I never got xp. Leaving from Beetletun into Watchtower is the same as leaving from Bergin into Nebo. -- Konig/talk 02:21, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't check for EXP (was already there before I edited). (I'm the IP). Supervillain-Tox 02:23, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Exp is listed in the log, but can be seen as floating green text. Backsword 02:30, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- I noted it as being 5,000 exp from Nebo Terrace. 4.154.52.242 03:25, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- In the chat log it will say you received the gold and the war supplies but you'll see the xp number floating and not in the log but you will get it. :P Sjacie 17:26, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Spawns[edit]
I escorted him from outside Lion's Arch to Nebo Terrace and after taking the reward I zoned and he spawned again at the North Kryta Province / Nebo Terrace spawn point. He went from the portal to Bergen Hotsprings, but didn't stop and continued on through towards Cursed Lands but I was in HM and got a bad pull and he died, so I didn't see where he would have stopped. I started at Lion's Arch again and tried zoning into Nebo Terrace to see if he always chain spawned, but this time he didn't. 58.106.158.34 09:28, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- I've done some more research and it appears he can spawn at any portal in the zones he appears in however the route, and sometimes destination, seems to be different for each portal but the reward is always the same. I will change the article to reflect this. 58.106.158.34 10:07, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- i wouldent be suprised if your right, however the LA->NT one is infact 10 war suplies unlike the others, i also think he only 'heads' for divinites.--Neil2250 , Portal Jumper 10:09, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't mean they are all the same. Just the reward for an escort in the same zone is the same. From North Kryta Province portal to the Cursed Lands portal is 12 War Supplies, the same as all the other escorts in Nebo Terrace. 58.106.158.34 10:41, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Divinity Coast[edit]
So I've just escorted this guy all the way to Divinity Coast, does anyone know if this unlocks anything new at the Asuran Lab? --Santax (talk · contribs) 10:37, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think so. I escorted him from Divinity Coast to Beetletun. He has no special preference for getting to Divinity Coast. 81.206.253.73 15:37, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
Regen[edit]
He seems to have a BASE health Regen, when he takes dmg his health starts filling right away. and bleeding degen does nothing to him, he doesn't lose or gain health while bleeding, so I think that might be his regen amount - Stimpson J Kat 20:10, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
If Kilroy Stonekin...[edit]
...and Rurik had a child, it would be this guy. He aggros EVERYTHING within 3.5 danger zones from him. Razor39999 01:54, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- Not for me, he just runs his path - if someone enters his aggro bubble (or yours if you stand right next to him), he'll (sooner or later) go fight them. -- Konig/talk 02:17, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- Maybe you just aggro a lot cause the Falken sure doesn't... :P Sjacie 12:00, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- Kilroy Stonekin and Rurik having a child?! I dont want these images in my head! But from what i have seen, my group aggroed more than he did. Zungx 21:10, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- Depends where you run him I guess, I've mostly been doing Watchtower Coast and there he rushes ahead, especially after the fourth pop up group. Razor39999 09:30, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

References[edit]
I think his "Are you okay?" and "A courier's passion...is burning red" quotes might be references to Terry Bogard's Buster Wolf and the Erupting Burning Finger from G Gundam respectively. But I don't want to edit in case I'm missing something painfully obvious. Also, should the attack quotes said at the start and finish of Falken Punch be seperated from his other quotes?--124.176.56.84 23:36, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- "Come rain, or sleet, or horde of skale, nothing will stop the intrepid Shining Blade Courier. Well, maybe the skale..." is a USPS reference. 70.54.94.114 01:29, 24 May 2010 (UTC)"
- "Erupting Burning Finger from G Gundam" I was thinking the same thing the first time I saw him say that, but I decided it's a little loose of a connection and was waiting for someone to come up with a spot-on reference to debunk it. But for now all of his enemies will take his love, his hatred, and all of his sorrow. --KageSennin 02:34, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Are you okay?" and "GET SERIOUS" are obvious references to Terry Bogard From Fatal Fury.
so?[edit]
so im confused do you have to have eotn to spawn him?...or if i have an account with prof will he spawn?AurenX 01:16, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

- You need to beat one or the other for him to spawn if someone else in your party has watched the Shining Blade Camp dialogues required, otherwise, you yourself must have seen said dialogues. --- Ness Hrin | 04:55, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
- I have beaten Prophecies. Dont have EOTN. Watched the first 3 dialogues. Cant see more dialogues because I have to watch Zinn's Trial but this is impossible without EOTN. He doesn't spawn for me (tried it for 20 mins lol). However, he does spawn when I enter with my other account (the account without EOTN is also in the party) who has all campains and beat both Eotn and Prophecies! ~Rago
- You have to have watched the 4th dialogue which requires Zinn's Trial which requires EotN to get him to spawn. --Musha 16:41, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Detailed Map of Falken's Route in North Kryta Province - Including Popup Locations[edit]
- That's only the route he'll take from beetletun to bergen. He has 3 other routes in that area Bergen > Beetletun and North Kryta Province <---> Cursed Lands... Sjacie 18:47, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Bug (Watchtower Coast)[edit]
I just zoned from Beetletun into Watchtower Coast twice and both times Courier Falken didn't spawn. And I know he didn't die because, not only did I not see him when I zoned, he would have appeared in my party window, even dead. I kept going out and clearing Peacekeeper and White Mantle groups but still nothing. Some update must have bugged him in this area. Tender Wolf 00:46, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
- It's random, I've had a streak of 10 zones in a row where he didn't spawn, but did on 11.. so just keep at it. - Stimpson J Kat 00:53, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

- Kinda total BS if anyone asks me. If they want to rebalance the War Supplies Courier Falken run, at least they should rebalance the cost of getting the Royal Gifts and Medal of Honor (15 and 25 War Supplies, cmon, that is just BS, even Wintersday Gift cost 5 Candy Cane Shards and these can be famed very easily when compared to War Supplies which is very hard to farm).--Dark Paladin X 03:35, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, but you can't get anything worth a lot (tonic? more shards? Fruitcake? Eggnog? Spiked Eggnog? Candy Cane?) from a Wintersday openable. You can get plenty of good things from a Royal Gift, and often up to five useful things. Kyubiko 03:39, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

- i dont get why everyone is complaining about it, its not like it was here for super long anyway, b4 it was giving way too much, this way it keeps the gifts higher in price and maybe the minis too...it was a bad idea to give such a large reward for something so simple...i think anet failed at first with the hi reward but fixed it when they lowered it thumbs up to you anetAurenX 21:10, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
- I think it sucks, for there was finally a real way to farm with every non-solo party you liked, with a great reward to farm for. Its just so not-fair, great things always end up this way (55/ss, making fun of mesmers, 600/smite(with a normal smite), taem arenas) its just so sad that Anet does this.--Markisbeest 21:20, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
- The runs would still be bearable if HM had tripled rewards instead of just double to make up for the extra white mantle member that spawns with each group now. It also makes Beetletun to Divinity and vice versa immensely difficult with two of the popups being right next to a patrolling group that falken sometimes skips and aggros later anyway... 173.88.136.15 21:25, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

- The NM was in need of a rebalance I would have said 6 supplies and 500 gold 1000xp give that you have to go through level 20's+ and you have four characters at 20 2 hencn at lvl 12 and random span at 17-20. And HM should have been left alone. but at the current 3/6 that not an intensive enough for me to make it worth it..sorry.--Zehnchu 05:35, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
- This is serious bull. I mean maybe if the rewards were 5 for NM and 10 for HM, that would be reasonable I think, though I saw nothing wrong with the old rates. They can even forget the gold. Like anyone was doing it for the money. Also, I got two metals of honor out of ten gifts so, unless those metals can be traded for weapons which can be put in the HoM then 25 is an absolutely ludicrous amount to pay for them. You know what, forget the Shining Blade, I bet the Mantle would be willing to pay more reasonable rates. Besides, at least the Mursaat lend actual aid while our gods just give inspirational speeches and sell blessings. I say we switch sides. --Shai Halud 00:29, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- How dare you side with the White Mantle who offered us Ascalonians a new home, who honor the Mursaat that kept the Titans away from Tyria and are actually capable of defeating an army of lvl 12 charr just so they would receive some help not getting destroyed by some guys trying to kill a weird corrupted person with no power, unless he reaches the place that they protect with their lives! Hey, wait a second...--Markisbeest 17:01, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- I decided to wait and see if I am still annoyed about the nerf. I am still annoyed. This run was a fun and social way to get a decent reward. I thought this was end game content for those of us who had finished eotn and prophecies, followed the storyline and all that. I thought oh "end game rewards!" and I was happy to see that, since Prophecy's rewards have always been lower than the other chapters. Maybe it was a little high BUT 3/6 is ludicrous in my opinion and the fun is over Kalidri 19:09, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- I now find it more profitable to just bring more of my chars into the war by completing the unbelievably long and complex sequence of necessary events and completing the inquisitor missions and Riverside Assassination. You can get like 5000 gold, 5 gifts, and 90 war supplies fairly quickly that way. Falken is a waste of time.--Shai Halud 13:29, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Alliegance[edit]
I say it'd be much better if we had an option for helping whichever side we wanted, and had a story behind each, but to work with the Shining blade actions(seeing as they seem to be the innevitable ones leading to GW). perhaps even have something from the mantle that makes us more supplies - Stimpson J Kat 02:42, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- You can't possibly mean for Anet to stay true to their word can you? Eive Windgrace 04:19, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- Actually they are staying to their word, they NEVER actually stated you could pick sides or implied this. This was mainly players in forums coming up with propaganda etc. It was always supposed to be this way as the players have been made to show the Mantle being bad since the first game and lead to the events of GW2. --Smithy-Star 01:52, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- Handing out flyers for the White Mantle at cons doesn't directly cause any sort of assumptions? 24.197.253.243 02:24, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- That is correct. Anet does not create assumptions. Instead, what they created was a fun and exciting way of introducing their new content. --Musha 19:51, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

R.I.P.[edit]
Why? Simple! People refuse to help him, and so he died early on the War in Kryta events. It should be noted on the lore =P young promising Courier Falken died no matter what where is best intentions no care about in after a while D=
- Courier Falken the first, and probably not the last, Shining Blade to consistently fall to the White Mantle due to inept leadership. The messages must not be very important to Princess What's Her Name. Not a good sign for the Royalty's priorities. — Mar Master 17:38, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

- I like cookies! However, it would take a tremendous quantity of them to convince me that escorting this guy is worth it... There will be extra Confessor's Orders drops, so if that's something you seek, you might try to help him. Otherwise, he simply has no regard for personal preservation, and even less for yours. GW2 should have a monument dedicated to the fallen courier..."To those ignorant enough to escape their healer". Gwynna Vive 00:45, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Armor ratings[edit]
What armor does he have? He dropped like a stone vs a Jade armor, make me believe he has no infused armor and no armor bigger then 70. Any data on this? ---- Demonic Cobra 20:21, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
- It would be very difficult to test his armor, as you can't see how much damage he is taking. There's no reason to suspect he doesn't have 70 armor, though. Judging by the speed at which he dies against Mursaat, I don't think he's infused either. Manifold 14:37, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- It might be possible with some monk skills that redirect damage to you. But then again you need to know what numbers hit him and what classes are hitting him. So it is probable near impossible. ---- Demonic Cobra 17:58, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
Hard Mode[edit]
Does anyone have tips on doing this in Hard Mode? I have tried so many different combinations of heroes and henches and can't seem to get very far. I did make it 3/4 from Lion's Arch to the destination but he died just before the Ascalon Settlement. I have tried Discordway, Sabway, and various other combos. Any tips would be appreciated. Syjaina Roh 09:19, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- I use modified spiritway, healer and cultist hench, I can get from beetletun to divinity coast without much problems 94.226.94.78 11:11, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, put simply, HM isn't really all that different from NM once you have some experience. The secret is that once you get out of the gate and see Falken as an ally, you should just turn around and go back through the portal.--Shai Halud 13:33, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to vanquish. I've already vanquished these areas. I want to escort him in HM. I know it's probably not worth it but it's a challenge to me now and I want to do it just to say that I have. Spiritway was useful until I made it to the Jade Cloak group. Falken quickly bit the dust there as did most of my party. Now I remember this is how far I made it before in North Kryta Province as well. Syjaina Roh 15:09, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

- He seems to ignore AOE DOTs. I've seen him stand in Searing Heat repeatedly, and seeing that White Mantle fire casters also apply generous helpings of Mark of Rodgort, and spam Searing Flames combos, he's going to take massive damage whenever such happens. Best you can do is try to shut down those damage sources that the courier is not smart enough to avoid, and hope that he's not targeted with Spectral Agony at the end. Your party needs to consist of something you are accustomed to working with, yet you will need to adjust skills to help shut down the type(s) of damage you are normally not concerned with, because you will face every type the game has to offer during the escort...I normally use a party with only casters and healers, and I generally ignore elemental dark and chaos damage...that does not work for this escort, but adding some knockdown, slow and ward skills helped me greatly. More importantly, plan for the courier's impatience, as he will start a new fight long before you can recharge energy, or ressurect and heal your fallen. I've had a few successful escorts, but I attribute them to luck, and the profession combos of the somewhat randomized spawning mobs. I was unimpressed with the quantity of cookies for my trouble... Gwynna Vive 01:27, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- He seems to be lobotomised. I had him spawn with Koro, who with any luck, snatched the idiot's shipment before he blundered off to an early grave. The VERY FIRST mobs in the zone were a mesmer boss with maybe a dozen guys in 3 groups, pumped for Hard Mode. No problem if pulled separately; indeed, Koro breezed through with us effortlessly. Falken? Aggroed every mob as his first heroic act and was overkilled within 30 seconds of saying hello; righteously blasted into a fine red mist and left to drift solemnly on the wind for all stupidity.
