Matrons aren't only female. Educate yourself.

If you deem Wikipedia to be a good source of knowledge : [1]. While the article says that some matrons have been known to be male, it also says that almost all matrons are female. Also Coventina is the name of a goddess] and seems female name due to the suffix -a (most -a latin words are female names).
