Holy freakin jesus. Anet really outdone themselves this time in terms of difficulty level. I might actually have to gather a human party now 82.176.8.4 22:54, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Holy freakin jesus were my sentiments exactly. >.< 74.74.170.160 01:46, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
I just beat it ^_^74.233.248.32 02:28, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
Aside from the obvious 'Bring several Consumables and extra Powerstones', I'm not really sure what else to advise for this mission. It's seriously hard, especially at the last part, where I've found it's really hard not to get wiped at that narrow valley where the titan boss and his mob is.
Narrowness of the valley means that if you bring one Panic and some RoJ, or any other decent AoE dmg - you can both shut down and kill most of the Bosses group extremely easy. As for quest - doing it now with heros is not harder then doing it for the first time some 5 years ago with people. Biz 20:55, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
Narrowness of the Valley means the titans can do the same thing to you :D and with Frost Titans havaeing 3 skills that can 1 shot your entire team and Titan Malice have Panic/Backfire...180.131.220.207 03:59, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Haha, I guess ANet left the spawns there and the Titans had their way with them. ~FarloUser Farlo Triad.pngTalk 10:12, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
Just saw your summary, thanks :D ~FarloUser Farlo Triad.pngTalk 10:18, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

HowTo[edit]

Could one of you apparent masters please give some hero builds? I couldn't make it very far into mineral springs before I could go no further. The monks are too powerful to beat with more than 2 of them, and the mesmers hit the team with panic resulting in a guaranteed wipe. If you somehow know how to avoid this then please, do tell... 87.195.101.155 15:10, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

I added a pretty large walkthrough, basically, bring and ST rit and spike the guys in the right order. WGreg 00:11, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
I came unprepared to this quest, forgot cons only had some candy canes and summoning stones left. I noticed if you pull the boss groups sometimes a few get behind, doing it enough gives enough time to kill it before the rest arrives. It takes a while but better then failing. Also I noticed when they want to run back to their original spot and a spirit was in their way that mob would stand still untill the spirit was gone. This can also be used in your advantage. Not the way it is supposed to be I know, but hey, if brawls fail to work for you it's time to use brains ;) --Kilaa1000 20:12, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
bring lots of prots, especially a prot ritualist. If you're not bringing prots for HM then you shouldn't be doing HM at all :P 71.68.238.112 17:30, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

HowNotTo[edit]

EVSS +GC headshot does 271 damage to the level 40 Frost Titan, and still only drops his life down about 15%. 173.67.6.148 20:40, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

The Frost Titan skill Smash of the Titans, in addition to the 300+ damage it does, removes all Enchants. PermaSin builds are completely ineffective here. 173.67.6.148 11:52, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Smash of the Titans is a touch skill, which cannot be blocked, and "Can't Touch This" doesn't work either. Any sort of Enchantment based buffs are immediately shut down. Which makes a bonded tank approach problematic as well. And Dervishes? No way. 173.67.6.148 13:22, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Titans leave no bodies, so Discordway or Minion Bomber builds are not very effective. Unless you are using party wipe for bodies, which is less than optimal. 173.67.6.148 11:52, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

After Mirror of Ice Patch...[edit]

It's now nearly impossible to ignore the frost titans after the Ele patch -- Mirror of Ice is now dealing me over 500 dmg in an aoe around the frost titan (from 2 packets), especially with the frost titan's knock-down, I'm not sure how to handle them... Any advice? -- Frozzen 06:51, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Holy cow, those things are basically impossibru. This is a LOT harder than it was originally (post elementalist update) File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 22:20, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
File:User Chieftain Alex DDF Hm almost but not quite.jpg The final mob is very difficult indeed. Two panic, two melee, two frost titans, a boss and a healer. -_- u srs anet? File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 21:44, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

I did it after the patch. I Micro Managed a ST rit for the frost titan on the way to the boss. At the boss self I pulled the group back. A mob would get stuck while running back because a spirit was on their path back (none damage spirit like shelter, union casted by my ST hero). While the rest was back on the original spot (or almost back) I had time to kill the mob that got stuck before the rest ran back to me again. Repeating this I managed to complete the quest without cons. Direct attack was a wipe before I killed one. --Kilaa1000 22:42, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Did it eventually, took fucking ages because basically went the wrong way, but had SV, SY, ST, SoS, Inep, BHA and Xinrae resto nec. File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpgChieftain Alex 01:49, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
It is a monster of a quest indeed. If you do go the wrong way it is possible to teleport if you party wipe over to the other side, after walking over the second bridge there is a tengu boss, who is situated North West of the second rez shrine, if you walk as far as you can to the cliff face, if you wipe at any point later you will be rezzed at the second shrine and not the first. I know by this time most of the wrong way is done but still the second rez shrine is accessible this way.--Little Red Ruin (talk) 05:31, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

HELP![edit]

I have used consets and tried some really good Hero builds that have gotten me far on every other Hard Mode quest EXCEPT! this one.. I have seen mention of some builds but no info as to what they are. If anyone who has beaten this can please share some specific info I am willing to listen and try some things I may not have. Thank you in advance!

I give up. 3 days over 50 attempts to complete this. Every Hero setup under the sun. Either you have enough Dmg to power through the Titan Hearts, in wich case the Frost Titan Murders everything! or you have enough healing/Damage mitigation/ disruption to survive the frost titan, at wich point you dont have enough Dmg to get through the Titan Hearts. all the while Titan Malices are ruining everying plan you have. All the Titans deal enough dmge to 2-3 shot your midline with JUST THEIR AUTO ATTACKS!!! Tanking the damage is impossible and getting them to hold agro on just one person is impossible. Their arent enough corpses to feul minion to distract the titans so your team can do work. they are all close to lvl 40 so every hit is critical. I'm admit defeat. I can only imagine what the next quests in this line will be like with only 6 and 4 man teams.192.168.103.50 07:05, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Just in case anyone still wants to find notes on this[edit]

There can't be many people left who want to do this quest, but I put some pics and notes up at pvx a while ago -Chieftain Alex 17:33, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Just about 11 years later, I found this very useful. Thank you! --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 06:50, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

Newly spawned titans do not belong to the group that spawned them[edit]

This can be useful if you quickly disengage after killing (for example) a frost titan. The newly spawned titan will not follow the original group to the original position, but to their own spawn position. Additionally, pulling those new spawns will not aggro the original group. I used this trick to relatively easily beat this mission, by repeatedly splitting large groups into smaller groups. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gambade Joyeusement (talk) at 21:59, 18 December 2024 (UTC).
