Kabob=?[edit]

what is a Kabob? —ZerphatalkThe Improver 13:30, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Quote from Wikipedia: "Kebab (also transliterated as kabab, kebap, kabob, kibob)" so apparently it's just another name for a kebab. Lyra ValoUser Lyra Valo Sig.jpg 13:39, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

omg noob article creators, a whole page written with stupid information and not the most important one : WHAT IS THE EFFECT OF THE KABOB???

See the part that says "Double click for an armor bonus"? calor (talk) 20:45, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I'll bite... What is the bonus? And please don't just say "It's an armor bonus" ;p
206.193.192.26 21:23, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
its +5 armor, ill add the note 98.199.243.39 21:29, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
If you look at the bottom of the infobox, it provides the effect. --JonTheMon 21:30, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
I already saw the link to Drake Skin before, and have no problem with it having a separate page entry. However, from a presentation POV, it seems more effective to also see the armor effect in the table already provided on this page. Sorry for being naive about wiki rules, but would it be possible to at least say: Double-click for a +5 armor bonus. Without the extra info, the statement seems vague and unsatisfying. 206.193.192.26 00:43, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Would being able to click on the words "armor bonus" and go to Drake Skin be reasonable? --JonTheMon 01:58, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Will using this add points to any titles? 76.241.112.195 23:44, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

No, and indent next time please, also this most likely doesn't belong under this heading. Eive_Windgrace 21:48, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Doesn't the stats say "Double-click for an armor bonus"? It doesn't tell that it's actually 5+. --Toroquin User Toroquin Toro icon.png 11:24, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Oh someone else said that... --Toroquin User Toroquin Toro icon.png 11:54, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

8.3% Damage Reduction[edit]

Is not too bad. I just wish drake flesh was easier to come by. Might just be better off with the more common +2 Health per second, even if it's not as good in elite areas... -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted guided sig.png (τѧιк) 02:09, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

It is not 8.3%, its +5 armor. And no not the same thing as the effect does not scale linearly so depends on initial AR.--217.122.185.102 18:14, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes, it is 8.3%. Actually more like 8.2996% if you want to be really pedantic. --Irgendwer 19:11, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
In reality, it is bugged and does not provide any armor bonus. User Judas Sig.pngudas 23:51, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
Judas: how did you test this? — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:52, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
We both did since we ran a lot of testing around armor issues today and wrote lots of stuff at the official forum. Speaking only for me my/the test was that Lightning Javelin did the same damage (141) to a naked char as to the same one only affected by the Kabob. The 25% armor penetration does not explain that and different +5 armor mod tested in another sequence brought up a different value (134). Combining the Kabob with 'Elemental Resistance' did not make a difference either, with and without it Javelin did 84 damage. This was actually the first test and reason for more to come, we wanted to figure out whether Drake Kabob counted into the 25 armor stacking limit or not. –User ARTy sig.png 01:00, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I found the relevant thread by accident: on the bug forums.
It looks to me as if there are two distinct issues: what's covered by the cap (should be only skills, but it's lots of other stuff) and things that are supposed to provide a benefit, but don't (Kabob + certain types of off-hand weapons, notably greens and old school inherent mods). Thanks for posting all your results. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:15, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
For this reason we created several new topics which are not primarily about armor stacking, their roots lie within the topic you linked.
Concerning the two 'categories' you wrote of: Only the Drake Kabob and the rinblade from Arthur Ayala (with +5 vs charr) are the ones which do not work at all, up to what we know now. Everything else, especially the greens you incorrectly put into the non-working category, is just about counting into the 25 armor cap or not, but those effects and modifiers basically do work. –User ARTy sig.png 01:33, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
I tested it with regular 60 armor versus lightning javelin as well (isle of the nameless). Consuming the Drake Kabob made no difference. User Judas Sig.pngudas 01:24, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
I just ran another test because I was not sure anymore whether I also checked physical damage or not. Physical damage is affected, meaning the effect 'only' lacks a word. Sorry. –User ARTy sig.png 01:46, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
One day of testing is never enough :D. User Judas Sig.pngudas 01:51, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

description change[edit]

I was doing scavenger hunt for Thackeray and my Drake Kabob says, "Double click for an armor bonus." It does not say +5 like the one here. I have a screenshot if you would like it. --'Mai Yi' talk 21:12, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

The collector tables aren't quoting; they include the details so that folks don't have to look them up. However, other consumables do include a quote, so I've added one to the article. Could you double-check against your screenshot and fix any mistakes I made? Thanks! (And nice job spotting the discrepancy.)  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:20, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Bug[edit]

Can someone rewrite the bug section of the page? I am unable to make any sense of it due to unproper grammar. Is it saying it gives bonus to only versus physical damage or gives bonus to all damage? — Eloc 14:43, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

Rewrote the bug. From the description (and the effect description), one would assume it gives an unspecified armor bonus, meaning a bonus against all armor-respecting damage. However, it only gives an armor bonus against physical damage. Hope that helps. User Judas Sig.pngudas 15:44, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
