Talk:Fahranur, The First City
Background landscapes[edit]
While vanqushing i noticed mountains in the distance on the east side of Fahranur, at the back of the temple. [1] Is there any possibility that they are related to some where, or should i just not bother :P --Al Victum De Credo 00:07, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
- It's probably nothing. In Cantha, you could see cities out in the ocean. –alistic 01:00, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
well doesnt it say in the page that there is a relation between the very first istan settlers and orrians? maybe its another little piece of the orrian kingdom.--Hubbard The Dervish 03:38, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Burn traps[edit]
If you are vanquishing and a monster is smashed or killed by the burn traps, can you not reach the 195? Xxx Corn Xxx
VQ numbers[edit]

- 196 as well. Previously Unsigned
Same here....196 foes, but only 980 XP and 980 gold. Can we update the reward info somehow?184.207.119.73 14:43, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
- What's wrong with the current note? 196 is around 195 and the cash/xp rewards should be 5x that number, i.e. 980 xp and gold. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 15:59, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
Anomaly[edit]
Today I noticed the when heroes are hit by the falling traps, they don't die. Only henchmen and I seemed to get harmed by it. Allies, such as summons, die too. Is this intentional? If it's not can someone update it since I don't know how to? 50.104.208.65 22:21, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
- My heroes have died when hit by the traps. Are you sure that your heroes were actually in range of the effect? (e.g. did you try flagging them directly underneath the weights?) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 22:26, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
- I think it's a proximity thing...just finished this VQ and it looked to me like Vekk got obliterated by the trap, but didn't die, so likely not in the exact spot to die. (Usaf1a8xx 18:55, 11 August 2011 (UTC))
- There are lots of places in the game (and, for that matter, in real life) where something looks like it's within a line of sight (or on the same spot) when viewed from one angle, but viewed from another angle, it's clear that there's no match. In other words, from a distance and at a certain angle, it could easily seem that Vekk was underneath the trap...but from Vekk's viewpoint (and more importantly, from the trap's PoV), he was merely adjacent to the AoE zone.
- Another possibility is that the AoE radius of the damage is smaller than that of the image of the weight and/or of the compressed dirt below it, i.e. you might be able to stand within the circle left by the weight without being hurt by it (that would be more anomalous/buggish than a difference in PoV, but it's a fairly standard discrepancy in video games). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:33, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- Ok just went and tested it...kills player toon, spirits, enemies, however not heroes. There's a dead NPC in the vicinity...not sure if it killed him as well. Have screenies if u need them. (Usaf1a8xx 22:01, 14 August 2011 (UTC))

- I also tested, in particular, flagging heroes in/around the danger spot, next to the player toon. Player toon died; heroes did not not matter where I flagged 'em. Near as I can tell, the traps also didn't affect foes, but I didn't test that situation as much.
- So, apologies to 50.104; I felt sure that I've seen heroes get flattened by the traps (but maybe only in the mission or some other zone). I've also updated the page...although I didn't use the {{bug}} or {{anomaly}} tags (perhaps we should?). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 23:41, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- I guess that depends on the mechanics of other traps...been a while since I did a EOTN dungeon. Do the giant fireballs kill heroes? (Usaf1a8xx 02:28, 15 August 2011 (UTC))

- Yeah, traps kill heroes (it's annoying for 7H in Frostmaw's)...and (without redoing that mish) I'm pretty sure they die from the traps in Jok Digs, too. So I think it's just Fahranur. (And it might be all or only some of the traps; I only tested the one on the way to Nick.) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:39, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
If this is anything like in Sorrow's Furnace (identical crushers), then the 5th, 6th, 7th + 8th heroes will not be crushed by the falling crushers. (only valid for 7 hero parties) File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 15:15, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
Anamoly - Redux[edit]
[2] Ok so I VQ'd this area, however none of the Undead corpses disappeared...even after like 20min. To explain the picture I linked, the blue circle I added is where I started and finished my VQ doing in a clockwise pattern. It took me 3 minutes to run back to to the Undead after finishing the VQ, and yet the corpses were still there...and these had been there for probalby 20min. They show up on the mini map as gray dots as well. Not sure if this is a glitch, normal for this VQ, or normal for these enemies in Istan. Just thought I'd share.
