Talk:Game updates/20080221
Can someone explain the note please? I'm not really understanding what it's supposed to mean. -- Brains12 \ Talk 20:49, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- I haven't tried it but my interpretation of that is that when you call it, instead of saying what should be said all the letters are replaced by spaces i.e. nothings comes up. Lyra Valo 20:51, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yup, when you try to call skill use your character will say a blank line on the team chat. Applies when you try to call your target's skill use, too. 130.234.176.241 20:56, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- Is it only when another player or NPC has that skill, or is it every time a skill is called? -- Brains12 \ Talk 20:57, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- I've tried. My character's name is Killing The Killers. I go to use Conjure Flame, and press CTRL and 1 to use Conjure Flame and call it. Normally, team chat would say "Killing The Killers: I'm using Conjure Flame!". Now, it says "Killing The Killers: ". Calor 20:58, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- This happens regardless of what players or npcs have this skill. It will always happend
- Changed it a min ago to say that.PheNaxKian (T/c) 21:01, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

RE: Note[edit]
Basically what it means is that when u call something it will only show your name
Example:
"username: "
It will no longer show what u are calling. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:69.158.106.161 (talk).
REALLY[edit]
fucking stupid update did anet hit my pipe today? 72.183.210.160 21:05, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- Well yeah, Wammos can't shout "I'm using Mending!" anymore :( --Lundis 22:01, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
you are obviously oblivous to the fact that, that skill is the best in the game duh! 72.183.210.160 22:02, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- I don't understand; why was this useful feature taken out? It used to be good for coordination; now we're pretty much forced to use ventrilo or another voice program. MiraLantis 22:25, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- It's probably an unprecendented bug or something. I recall something similar happening a few months ago as well -- Brains12 \ Talk 22:26, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- I hope so. As it is, as a monk I generally call the mesmers (and on certain maps, rangers) in a group before we head in so our party doesn't get destroyed because I've been Blackout'd or something. Not really blackout... but you know what I mean. Hopefully this is a "preventative measure," because as I see it, this is removing one of the features I love in this game. Im sure its a bug. 68.204.198.205 01:00, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Wow, if anyone thought that this was anything other than a small bug for a second, just wow. If they took out the feature intentionally, why on Earth would they make it ping blanks rather than remove it all together? GG! At least it's been fixed now. --Tr33zon ಠ_ಠ (Talk - Contribs) 01:27, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Why So Big?[edit]
Downloaded about 200 files for this update. Eldin 22:44, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- Guru (I believe) has a very long thread about people who poke in the .dat file. Maybe check there? MiraLantis 22:45, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- Just checked the tail end of the .dat. Looks like we're finally getting the Design-A-Weapon winners. --Valshia 00:07, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

- Those have been in there for at least a month. Hopefully they're coming soon, but this is no guarantee. 71.196.216.94 02:30, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Skill Description Changes[edit]
There seems to be quite a number of skill description changes with this update. e.g.
- Rending Aura - now correctly states that it removes all enchantments.
- Ursan Rage - now states that it deals physical damage. --Evenfall 02:35, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Classy update![edit]
- Fixed a bug that could cause a gap in the female Mesmer's hair upon character creation.
- Fixed a bug with the texture on Cynn's dress.
Keep up the good work! --TimeToGetIntense 06:15, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- When they say they fixed Cynn's dress... I hope they didn't mean they fixed the... easter egg...
Please Anet... not the thong... NOT THE THONG!!!! --SavageX 06:58, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Wut thong?
- Easter egg?
- Thong????
- did i miss something "classy" in Cynn?
- Where? wut? who? when? why? where? it ?!?!? lol
- Moving the camera so you are clipping through Cynn's dress made you able to see a thong. I don't know if you still can. BlazeRick 10:52, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Good news men, the thong prevails! It's still there. Thank God... Eldin 15:09, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Pics or it didn't happen... --Шєвч [TALK] @ 21:04, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Try Cynn's page. Pic is removed tho, because 12 yo get offended by pixels. BlazeRick 16:36, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry bout that, seems like the note's been removed at either of the Wiki. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Talk:Cynn#Underwear still has it on discussion tho. BlazeRick 16:39, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Mesmer Hair[edit]
What gap in mesmer hair was actually fixed? Was a certain female hairstyle broken or what??? --Longasc 13:20, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Fellow Alliance Members Bug?[edit]
I am not sure if anyone noticed, but fellow members of an alliance no longer have thier guild tags show up as gold. The tag now shows up the same color as the name of the person. This was not happening last weekend. KJZ 01:24, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- If you're talking about in battle, that was never there. Only in outposts you get to see who is your ally or guildie with a distinctive color. BlazeRick 16:37, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
