Talk:Heart of the Shiverpeaks
What am I missing here?[edit]
I went to talk to the dude in the far north.... I don't remember his name, ATM... It is where the green beacon told me to go... Anyway, he was of no help at all; he told me to go to the Heart of the Shiverpeaks. So, i decided to find my way to Deldrimor War Camp (I'm an Assassin). Not an easy way to go, btw. Well, I'm here, in Deldrimor War Camp, and I am stuck! I think my question is: Where is the Heart of the Shiverpeaks, and how do I get there?!? I am confused beyond belief! Please help me!--104.200.153.101 20:14, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
- You have to go through Battledepths or one of the many other entrances to the dungeon. The maps are detailed on the HotS page. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask! 104.0.42.202 06:35, 24 February 2019 (UTC)
- Ahh, yes; the unbeatable boss. I remember this nightmare. I'm just going to nope away from this one. Thank you kindly for the information, though. I really appreciate it! --104.200.153.94 21:11, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- If you want help beating it feel free to add me in game! (IGN: Short Gloves) Don't be afraid to shoot a PM! 104.0.42.202 07:00, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

Cyndr notes[edit]
I propose to move all notes about Cyndr the mountain heart either to the "Heart of the Shiverpeaks (quest)" page, or the "Cyndr the Mountain Heart" page, as it feels better suited there.--Lensor (talk) 07:13, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Green Drops[edit]
Do I get the Green items named after Cyndr (Cyndr's Edge, Shield, etc) from killing Cyndr during the quest, or from killing Magmus by going down there at any time? Or both?--4.243.42.108 02:00, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- Nevermind, I found out myself. Apparently Magmus's chest drops Cyndr's greens. Go figure.--4.243.42.108 03:50, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Interrupting Pyroclastic Shot[edit]
It currently says in the article "And on another sadder note his Pyroclastic Shot(which is his main attack)cant be interrupted or disabled." While the latter part of that is true becuase it is a monster skill, I'm fairly certain I've seen my heroes interrupt it once or twice. Can anyone confirm? 13:26, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I did this earlier this evening, and Gwen interrupted it several times.ThundaPunkin 08:43, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Beating Magmus[edit]
I think the notes need to be written more formally to prevent sentences such as: "..as you tank your ass off..". -- AshleyS (talk•contribs) 13:27, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Possibly the worst wiki article ever?[edit]
Umm, anyone else notice that this article is frikkin overflowing with juvenile wording, typos, and about a dozen run-on sentences?
I feel like I'm reading an email from my little brother. This needs a complete rewrite. I'm not too familiar with the dungeon, else I'd do it. Arcthemonkey 02:00, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Magmus?[edit]
Umm, so where is he? Killed the Wurm twice but didn't see him. -- (gem / talk) 15:05, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- I think Magmus is only there if you don't have the quest. Arcthemonkey 23:51, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Exit to Bogroot Growths?[edit]
This currently isn't stated in the article how to get to the portal for Bogroot Growths nor is it shown as a portal on the maps? As I havn't actually travelled through the path before; I don't know if it does show up. I'll check this out today but for now, it should be mentioned how to get there. --kaheiyeh 05:54, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- I actually just did this on my Survivor Toon, as I didn't think it would be a good idea to go through Shards Of Orr and still remain deathless, basically all you have to do is follow the right hand wall, to the South West and keep going. Although the map to level 1 shows the exit portal is on the south side, you can't get to it, without going all the way around the outside edge of the map to the SW corner. Do this dungeon as you would normally for HoS, but when you get to Budger (if he's there), turn right. 86.17.72.80 00:25, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
Suggestion[edit]
I just think there should be some sort of disambiguation(Spelling?) on the top.
Blackpowder[edit]
You do NOT have to have him in your party BEFORE entering the dungeon if you don't have the quest. That's a bit misleading. He will join you in the dungeon. Brian78wa talk 17:39, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- I hired Blackpowder in Drakkar Lake and hiked all the way to the Battledepths. He leaves your party after you enter into the Battledepths. If he does in fact meet you in the dungeon, then I propose the note regarding him be changed to avoid confusion. Renly Moore 15:32, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Massive Glitch?[edit]
Well I went to Battle Depths from Olafstan or whatever and talked to King Jalis, Then a green arrow flashed to the entrance to the dungeon, well I took a quest from the guy down the steps to guard the place, so I started the quest, lost, sent back to Olafs, went back to the BD and whenever I talk to him the arrow never moves away from the King.
Any ideas? Cuz idk if I messed something up or not....
OMG....I feel like such an idiotic noob right now....I didn't even see the new quest in my quest log...god such an idiot sometimes....--Crazyejackson715 23:38, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

For anyone wondering about running through here to Gadd's Encampment[edit]
You encounter in this order:
- The undead - no harm just they use Shock and Cripple + bunch of aoe
- Shelk - they remove enchantments and knockdown with Bull's strike/charge
- Plants - harmless but the Iboga things have -10 degen hex with slowdown.
- Ooze - grasping earth, knockdowns, shockwave + e denial as well as Wail of Doom
- Beetles - disenchantment and cripple
- Incubi - huge mobs - possible to aggro about 24 at once
- More beetles
- Frogs - avoid tongue lash and migraine, also they have interupts if you get into melee range.
I'd advise not running through here, but its kinda fun to do an area that very few people visit. Also, when you get to Budger, you backtrack along the right wall into the alcove, and continue south past the next turning and then head NW, then circle around the edge of the map in a counter clockwise direction (going south aggros massive hordes of incubi and fleshreavers :) --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 19:07, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
- OMG that was fun, i never thought of going through there. The Fleshrever Hounds are AWSOME, anet needs to make a mini of these. Their's a room with a hugh mural of a female Kurzick, under it is a nasty Fleshrever. When the Fleshrever is attacked your groupe is swormed. :) Someone get a screen shot of that room, ITS AWSOME!!! (Jaxx Hammer)--72.101.2.55 04:06, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- I recall walking upto it on my perma to look at it followed by "shit shit shit dozens of incubi" --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 23:51, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

Missing Foe?[edit]
If memory serves, in hard mody only, there's a batch of elementals waiting for you as soon as one warps to the third level on the way to Magmus, including Roaring Ethers (which isn't currently included in the list of foes). Magmus is the ZB tomorrow and I need to kill in HM for my Sin, so I'll confirm. Lord Flynt 01:41, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- Only Burning Spirits and Flowstones this run. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I'll check again next HM run. Lord Flynt 04:00, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
Stupid questions, probably[edit]
How does one find this magical place? Why is there no walk-through? From where do I start? What am I missing, here?! --196.52.39.21 18:28, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
- On the right hand side of the article you can see screenshots of how to get there from 4 different locations. Pick the one which is easiest/shortest (EotN - later CTC).
- Derp! I didn't realize they were ways to get there. Thank you so very much! Peace be upon you and your family!--173.239.240.180 19:43, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
- There is some additional info on Cyndir's page regarding the fight against him.
- The rest is relatively straightforward iirc. Maybe that's why noone bothered to write a guide? I'm guessing. Steve1 (talk) 09:10, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
- Walkthru is on the HotS quest page. 79.204.251.71 14:43, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
- I was lucky to have a very kind hearted soul help me through this one. I kept dying over and over again. I still don't know how we (he) did it, but I still have characters to throw into this gauntlet. Thank you, you kind warrior; in true GW2 fashion, you helped the under-privileged. --173.239.240.175 22:35, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
Wasn't clear to me...[edit]
When you get to the impassable gate, talk to Budger Blackpowder. He will give you a bomb. Drop it at the gate. Done. I lost hours trying to figure this one out! (yeah, I'm not a genius...) Hopefully this helps someone else. --173.239.240.180 20:48, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
