No it doesn't as you say but then you can bring one and use that too. The pet attack would be for the pet and shouldn't change anything. But, it is a bit of a stretch and you could technically add in any skill that takes advantage of moving or crippled foes for a synergy skill if it were to be left in. So, I support your decision, as I think that it really doesn't need to be in there and I was second guessing it when I had added it.
