Draw Conditions Discussion[edit]

Draw conditions is available in the Core, but not as a reward. It's a bit misleading to put core in this table. I propose that it should say factions instead, since that is where it is available as a reward. -- This was me before I got a user name --GuildWarsWikiUser 07:31, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

I believe its labeled core because it is available from ALL skill trainers in Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall. Quest rewards can offer core skills, but that doesn't mean that its related specifically to that campaign. --Wandering Traveler 04:21, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

The table is called Monk skill rewards. As a new user, I expected it to tell me which campaign the skill was available as a reward. Clearly it's available in the core, I can figure that out on the List of monk skills page. Is the purpose of this page to duplicate information on List of monk skills, or to provide new information relevant to skills that are rewarded? I would like at least one user to agree with me before making the change.--GuildWarsWikiUser 07:31, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

I see where you're coming from with that. didnt realize the skill rewards section >.< you should be fine with renaming it. Though considering this, some of the other skill rewards may be for specific campaigns, but misnamed for actual skill rewards. I'll look into and fix what I can. Absolutely, this specific case points to a great number of changes. Nearly every spell indicates its campaign availability instead of the campaign where it is available as a reward. As a second option, perhaps just another column to specify what we're talking about here. Of course, I have no idea where to begin editing the template that's being used. I'll have to slowly educate myself before I take this on. If anyone else comes along with the know-how, that would be great. --GuildWarsWikiUser 04:16, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

That campaign column is based on which campaign the skill is in and is automatically retrieved from the individual skill pages. But I can see how it might be misleading. There are two ways to approach this: (1) Remove the column entirely (you can do it by removing the "show campaign = y" part), so readers would have to click on the skill name to find out more. (2) Go to the skills formatting talk page and propose to change the skill infobox to include either the quest name or the quest campaign. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 06:12, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

I really like that first solution. It's elegant in the ease. Sometimes the solution is not to add things, but to take them away. Thanks for the insight. I'm going to go with it. --GuildWarsWikiUser 06:44, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

I like the changes that were made. Although is it possible for the "no attribute" skills to say "no attribute"? I'm still trying to figure out this wiki, so again, I'm completely lost. >.< User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 15:30, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
An empty cell = no attribute :) The skill page doesn't actually specify an attribute if the skill doesn't have an attribute, that's why the column is showing empty. The template used here uses DPL, which is pulling info out of the infobox of the skill pages. You'll need to either change the template or change the formatting guidelines to get that to default to "No attribute". Since it affects multiple pages, it's best to bring it up on the guidelines page.
The wiki is not hard to figure out :) it's just these template stuff that you're going to have trouble with if you're just starting out on wikicode :) Just take it slowly and check out our Help:Editing (has some links to template help). -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 01:56, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Empty cell....I TOTALLY knew that (o.0) Many Thanks aberrant. User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 03:46, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
