Rewrite

Availability

Hey guys,

You know how players with the Prophecies: Game of the Year edition have access to some nice weaponry and items by using /bonus? And how if they don't have the Game of the Year edition they can always just buy it from the online store..

There have been /bonus items that were available with the various Pre-order packages for each of the Campaigns.

Naturally, after each campaign was released, the Pre-order package for each campaign was removed.

This means that anyone who started playing Guild Wars after these campaigns have been released have no way of gaining access to these Pre-order /bonus weapons.

Who here would be interested in a Pre-order Bonus Items Package that would be purchaseable from the online store?

I'm personally interested in this because I have a Ranger in presearing and I like the idea of getting my hands on the Darksteel Longbow, I think it has a little bit of an edge over the Nevermore Flatbow.

I've sent an email to NCSoft, and they are entertaining the idea of this, but they want to see what the rest of the community thinks about it,

The reasons special items are available for pre-order is to get people to pre-order. If they start offering these things in the store after the fact, no one will bother to pre-order anymore. They however have set a precedence for this by offering the bonus mission pack in the store for those who didn't take advantage of getting it when it was available as a bonus. -- Wyn 04:24, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Can you still add them?

I've been debating on whether or not to buy new copies of the Nightfall and Eye of the North preorder boxes to use the weapons, and I was wondering if I do, will the codes still be able to be added to my account if I already own Nightfall and Eye of the North? I would think that the weapons would be possible to obtain using an unused code for both of them, but I didn't see any notification on the page and I want to be sure before I do. Upgrading Pre-order Items

Should information be added to the articles for the individual items stating which upgrades can be applied to them. I have the Prophecies GotY edition ones as well as the Factions and Nightfall pre-order ones and it seems that most of them can accept suffix upgrades - the Serrated Shield and Luminescent Scepter being exceptions. Some, such as the Dragon Fangs can also have the prefix upgrade replaced.Dakota 11:43, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Go ahead. I didn't know you could do that. Make sure you confirm it in-game with a freshly generated copy of each item though. –Jette 13:11, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
