Monster skill version[edit]

There is also a monster skill of the same name that the Gargoyles use in Diessa Lowlands, but I can't seem to find that page. Haku Banish 20:59, 20 April 2007 (EDT)

Resurrect Gargoyles? The page for them hasn't been created yet, but I would imagine that they use Resurrect rather than a monster skill of the same name. Can't access the "other wiki" to check at the moment ;) --SnogratUser Snograt signature.png 21:58, 20 April 2007 (EDT)
Just outside of Nolani Academy there are some of these monsters... I think they use a monster skill version, at least monster skill icon. (got picture: Image:Resurrect_(monster_skill).jpg) - MSorglos 04:39, 21 April 2007 (EDT)

"Outclassed"[edit]

While this skill isn't the best resurrection spell out there, it's ok overall. Full spell range, unconditional health amount, average cast time, average recharge, average cost. So, saying it's outclassed seems to be too subjective. --JonTheMon 04:04, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Consider the two times you'd be resurrected. First, during heated battle. If you're resurrected during heated battle at 25% health, chances are high that the AI will simply target you again and kill you in two hits, as you're at 25% health. Second, in light battle or out of battle. If you're resurrected in this situation, casting time and range don't matter, and all other resurrect spells will resurrect at higher health and energy. Therefore, in all situations, Resurrect is the worst resurrect spell (or considered to be the worst, if you don't want to be "subjective") --click moar Mafaraxas 04:52, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
How about suggest a situation where Resurrect is better than any other resurrection spell excluding a signet when all your signets are already used or Rebirth during combat. See, that hypothetical situation doesn't exist. Misery 09:35, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
See, the problem is that every other resurrect in the game either gives more energy, gives a whole lot more health, or casts faster. Yeah, they all have some conditional thing to them. But Resurrect just isn't good enough to ever justify using it. (Well, maybe it beats Signet of Return at 0 Leadership, but that's just stupid.) Vili User talk:Vili 09:39, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Let me see...
Pros:
  • Unlinked: can be used by any secondary Monks without any penalty.
  • Full spell range cast (won't force caster to go inside aggro to rez - unless fallen target is already bad positioned).
  • Hard-rez: can resurrect multiple team mates without the need of a morale boost to recharge skills.
  • Low casting time, low recharge time and low energy required to activate the skill: even non-spell-casting professions (like Warriors, Rangers and Paragons) might be able to have enough energy to use this; though a primary Paragon might prefer Signet of Return instead).
Cons:
  • Unlinked: can't increase health/energy gained (Paragon's skill "We Shall Return!" might make this skill less weak).
  • Unlinked (again): 40/40 sets will have no effect over this spell (there's no "20% chance HCT of 'unlinked' spells").
  • Low health & low energy (and unlinked): resurrected party member will probably stay "disabled" for a while, with no energy to use skills and no health to sustain enough hits to charge any adrenal attack.
Overall:
  • If your party is well prepared/balanced, deaths should not happen that often, so there would be no need to bring rez skills at all. Having either an one-time (strong) rez (Resurrection Signet) or a multiple-use (weaker/shorter range/slower) rez (Resurrect, Restore Life, Flesh of My Flesh) is more a matter of taste.
Personally, I hate this skill. >_<
I would prefer to be resurrected by "Vengeance" so I'd get that +25% damage + full HP/MP (and get no extra death count). :P --NIN37 09:57, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
BTW, I agree with JonTheMon about "not being subjective" on main article page. But this skill is weak (not even Henchmen use this!).

Signet of Return is better for that, slap it on a Mes hero with high Fast Casting. :) A wiki should strive for the truth above objectivity, I believe. (Then again, the truth needn't be worded subjectively.) You also neglected to mention Unyielding Aura. Still the worst resurrection skill available[edit]

If this were buffed to 5e, 2c, 5r, would it see any use? Personally, I still wouldn't use it in any PvP or in HM PvE. There are lots of ways to make this better but currently I can't see why anyone would choose this skill over ANY other resurrect. St Lucretia 18:52, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Not having the others unlocked is a pretty decent excuse. Although you wouldn't hard res in PvP as a caster anyway. That's the Warrior's job. And to answer the buffing question, doubtful. That's 25% health of the DP% health you already have. Assuming 30% DP, that's 17.5% of your max health. Assuming 500 health, that's 87.5 health. Dervishes can output a good 170% times that hit. With Deep Wound. It's not safe to be brought back with this skill, especially with the 0 energy part. That's an auto-shutdown on your casters. PowerGamer 01:13, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

I use this one over all others in PvE (usually I'm DPS caster). It's full range, recharges fast, and requires no points in any monk attributes for full effect. There are better options if you are willing to invest the points, but for wipe recovery, this one is likely the better of the possible monk options outside of PvP. Certainly it's not "safe" to be brought back with this skill, but Rez in combat isn't safe under any condition, and occupies someone who should be doing something else. Only a fool voluntarily dives right back into combat immediately after a rez. Gwynna Vive 01:39, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
