- There is no need to simply make a "okay but forgettable" skill, try making a great skill out of Savage Slash instead. An Idea, make a faster recharge available if it interrupts a spell. "If this interrupts a spell, then this skill recharges 50% faster" that would then only be 7.5 seconds, which is faster than Distracting Blow but slower than Savage Shot. Fair, but not too over powered IMHO. Or some other form of "if X, this skill recharges 50% faster", make it a good skill in most cases, and a great skill in certain situations.- Anonymous--142.167.21.115 15:19, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- It is not a bad idea. I think ways to get a faster recharge or faster recharge in general always win with interrupts - see Disrupting Shot, not even huge bonus damage helps it vs. Distracting Shot or Savage Shot. I think they just leave it untouched till other more pressing matters are "solved". Then there is the question if Warriors should really have two good say 10s recharge interrupts --Longasc 09:22, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- once upon a time this skill had an Eight seconds recharge time i believe, dont know why they changed it 20 like 30 sec then down to 20 and what isi t now? 15 sec? i didnt see what was wrong with Eight. especially since savage shot has a what 5 sec recharge time and can be combined with preperation to make it so 10 times as deadly as savage slash. all from the relative safety of 50 feet away from the target. but w/e 15 seconds isnt bad i gues.70.6.254.187 04:31, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Auron Bushi

Ever thought about the fact that having a long recharge time would be good for a warrior attack?^^ I combined it with the three other interrupting sword attacks, added Flourish and did an unnerving job.
Savage Slash | Distracting Strike | Disarm | Distracting Blow | Flourish | Lion's Comfort | Blank | Blank |

This skill isn't related to savage shot even though their descriptions are pretty much identical? Just bow and sword versions of the same skill with different recharges 76.25.21.240 01:03, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
15 second recharge is justified imho. Warriors can push a kill with a single interrupt, Rangers don't have so much DPS and alot of their focus is to interrupt. To say that Savage Shot/Slash should be more similar is silly.
For example, you approach a monk, it kites, you hit bulls, sever, gash, it stands up and begins to cast WoH or Guardian, you use savage, do bonus damage, and finish it off with SAMS.
- Yeah, sword 'rupters are pretty decent, but the melee range restriction and lack of damage on half of their 'rupts really puts them down. Tbh, sword warriors are weak compared to axe and hammer. -~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) 14:17, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Hero/AI Usage[edit]
It could be me but everytime i give this to a hero or have a NPC with me that has this equipped...could it be they use savage on spells only? I mean, yeah the bonus damage only occurs on spell-interruption but even mesmer and ranger-AI is not so picky. Lou Wolfskin 14:25, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
