Talk:Shadow of Haste
This skill is so fun to use on warriors. Run in, pull of your combo, then floor it as a P.O'd warrior tries to chase you down. then just turn around and charge them....and dissapear into thin air right as they swing their weapon. Curses are optional, but usually come along with this. Taunt victim for best results, then whoop them again. rinse and repeat.
I thought this skill was called Shadow Walk in the preview. Halogod35 18:40, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
What happens if you run out of the compass range of where you started? Byakko 22:47, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
what happens if you renew it? do you tele or can you go on fighting?? could be fun if you use that in tombs with sf IGN: Fuzzy Dynomite
- Stances technically end when they get renewed i.e. Pious Haste so you should shadow step back to your original location if it's renewed - Byakko 22:49, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- You don't. You were able to renew during preview or after they renamed it Shadow of Haste (I don't remember which). You stay in the spot where you renew it and that becomes the place you will step back to if it ends. You can test it yourself using Echo or "On Your Knees!". I'm too lazy atm. <>208.117.81.202 21:08, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- That's how it worked before it was changed. That was actually why it was changed. Instead of fixing the skill, they took the lazy route and upped the recharge. ~Shard 07:46, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]
I was farming the first level of Tombs in HM using this skill. I canceled it to shadow step back to the beginning. To my dismay, the mobs i was farming held aggro from half a compass distance away and killed me at the beginning of tombs. Bug? Psychiatric Consultant 20:24, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Hmmm...[edit]
at 12 shadow arts this lasts 34 seconds, and (at least at my hall) it takes 30 seconds with no speed boost to run from the flag stand to the flag spawn point. would this be useful in gvg, say if the other team took the flag stand and the runner had to go back and replace it, they cast shadow of haste, run all the way back to the spawn point and then cancel it (if needed) with say dash to appear right at the flag stand in a 30 second run instead of a 1 min? Joshthor 00:07, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- ha, lol i pulled a stupid. wont work i just realised as shadow steps make you drop your items. i feel like a noob now. :P File:Joshthorsig.jpgJoshThor Talk 05:16, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- But you can always use the 15% speed boost to get to the stand, then end it to get back to the flag spawn faster. It will at least send you back to the door or your guild hall, since shadowsteps do not go through walls or past compass range. <>208.117.81.202 21:08, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- Very dangerous, as one wild blow/throw/strike will teleport you away and cause you to cough up the flag. --70.190.103.3 07:43, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

- It can't become meta because there r those wild ______ skills... think:p78.20.153.111 21:06, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
- What I meant was, Wild skills are rarely seen in GvG today. So, if someone decided that they wanted to be a SoH runner, they'd probably be able to get away with it. However, if that became a popular running build, then we would start to see more Wild skills in GvG, until SoH dropped out of the meta again. Raine - talk 02:44, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- SoH cant be on de meta cause if u get snared, stuck or even u dont know to run right u will return before u can place de flag (sry for ma english)--89.129.129.89 22:33, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Running[edit]
this would be fantastic--Relyk 23:43, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree Relyk. Teleporting backwards every 30 seconds is very useful in running. These kinds of high quality suggestions are why I respect you so highly and why we get along so well here and everywhere else we associate. Misery 23:56, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- If they would reduce the recharge to about 3 seconds, it would make an awesome treadmill. --Jette 00:12, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- At max spec on Isle of Meditation, if you activate this stance just after leaving your "base", you can get to the flagstand just before it ends. So you could double-run flags by yourself. Also, you can, in fact, shadow step from the upper half of the map to the lower half, and vice-versa (I'm no good with Latin), with very precise positioning. And before you ask, don't. Raine - talk 08:42, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- Really good skill for running to certain point, and when you need to return back before normal expiration, you can use any other stance, e.g. Dash to force the end effect. It's much better than maintainable skills like Shadow Meld and Recall because it doesn't reduce the energy regeneration, is not elite and doesn't disable anything. Also good synergy with Windborne Speed and "I Am Unstoppable!", if need.
However, when I experimented with these skills I found one bug or at least the incorrectness in skill description. The problem is, for 36 seconds (at 13 Shadow arts in my case) the character can run very far away from initial point. But the distance of shadow step in the game is limited. When the end effect occurs, you return to initial point only if distance is no more than compass radius. Otherwise you shadow step in the initial direction, but only to compass radius. If there is no passable area in line between start and current points, like a lake (I experimented in The Mirror of Lyss), you will be moved only to the nearest wall or border. --Slavic 16:39, 2 March 2009 (UTC)- I'm not 100% if this is what you mean, but i think you left out that anywhere in compass range, and anywhere out of range, as long as you wouldn't be "obstructed" on your way back is what i'm observing 65.29.131.221 01:23, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

SoH[edit]
I havent been around long enough to know how to do this but could somebody put this in the page for skills reffered to as SoH? I have heard this (and use it myself) to talk about the skill but is not listed. Merri Weathers 04:49, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
Shadow Walk[edit]
Is tons of better than this skill. If this too had a cooldown of 30s (duration adjusted accordingly) this might've been an alternative. This wouldn't break the skill as far as I can tell. The old 30s duration was broken because the duration-intervals at the time made it possible to maintain this skill permanently with relatively low attribute investment. I think the cooldown should be brought down to match other shadow steps (it has the same function, just works differently). Might trigger some actual use of this skill outside... PvE? (Is this used even there?)--iLLUSiVE 14:09, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- It has some quite awesome uses, check [1] out--Markisbeest 14:32, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- I personally wouldn't deem that "awesome uses", but okay. And that would be basically unchanged with the change I suggested. It would (in regards to that video) only kill the down-time by a few seconds, which I don't see any problem with.--iLLUSiVE 14:58, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- ...What? At least from what I'm getting from when you said "It has the same function, just works differently," which i dont get cuz thats conflicting, they certainly dont have the same function because you have to attack a foe with one, and that is why this skill is used. Well...that and the disabling your skills... 65.29.131.221 01:35, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
