Talk:Sight Beyond Sight
anti-blinding SP skill?[edit]
Unfortunately, this will maybe only work with Spirit's Strength well... —ZerphaThe Improver 18:52, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- Now it's back to X/Rt :) --Rayd 22:04, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- It was good at 8 seconds, now it seems to be trying to make blind worthless. --24.179.151.252 02:21, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- Don't forget it locks the users secondary to /Rt, and other than SBS, there aren't a lot of complementary skills to go on a martial to go with that. 88.197.161.101 10:53, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- Death Pact Signet, used atm in top gvg on axe warriors, they could also use this in blind meta. --Rayd 15:18, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah. Very useful on non-rit primaries now. Dark Morphon(contribs) 13:34, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

- Reset - back to the state before the 17th January. :> --Longasc 19:28, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- Kind of imba when a non-elite owns an elite...oh wait Signet of Humility thank god for d-shot! --Underwood 21:43, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- Well, it was kinda overpowered in its new state. Dark Morphon(contribs) 12:15, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- "This skill combines well with Spirit's Strength." Can we remove this please? There's absolutely no synergy now that it has been turned into enchantment again. --Eyekwah 13:31, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Done. It's not like you need permission to edit, if you ever see something like that feel free to remedy it! :D Krelus Derian 22:37, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- It helps if the request makes sense. As far as I can tell, both this skill and spirit's strength have been enchantment spells since the wiki pages were created. Also, sprit's strength's pageg specifically mentions using this spell as a cover enchantment for your long-recharge damage buff with the added bonus of being immune to blindness. If you were secondary-warrioring or something with this, why would you NOT want that? --Star Weaver 01:17, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, then the note should have been WORDED better. It just said "synergy" so I assumed their effects directly effected each other. Normally I don't consider synergy to be a cover enchant, but in this case I think the argument can be made. I'm putting the note back with better wording. Krelus Derian 02:30, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]
Is that trivia confirmed? Honestly I don't see the need for it. The skill fits in with the whole rit thing of being blind already, and not being effected by it at all. I'm going to remove it for now. If there are objections, please state them and the reasons for them. Kelvin Greyheart 04:38, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
- Personally, you could say the same about It's Just a Flesh Wound, For Great Justice, The Power is Yours, and Make Your Time. I wouldn't think something this obvious would need confirmation. Thundercats wasn't just a wildly popular television show, it was also one of the prime time cartoons during the era that a vast majority of ANet staff were likely watching cartoons. If half of anyone 18 or older looks at this skill that plays Guild Wars, they'd likely know exactly what this skill was named after. I suppose everyone got the Captain Planet references as they're fairly recent (It ran until the early 2000's at reasonable times I believe, and still ran at the 3-4 AM time slots up until recently), Monty Python is timeless, and the Zero Wing ones are so recent that it's really not before anyone's time yet (that's old enough to play Guild Wars at least). I'm for the trivia being added back in, as I can provide supporting evidence that this is indeed a reference.
1. Close up of the face.
Lion-O's face had a close up of about the same angle and proportions.
2. Third Eye.
Lion-O's sword grew a third eye just above the hilt, this skill icon has a third eye in the exact same spot his sword would locate said eye on his face that he used to see without seeing.
3. Lightning around the face.
Lion-O's Sword, the Sword of Omens shot out lightning each time he said "Thunder". There is lightning around the ritualist's face in this icon.
4. The chin and nose.
This ritualist definitely has Lion-O's chin and nose. His general facial expression even. If you look at how similar the details are, it's far too close to just be a coincidence.
These are just what I've noticed by looking at them for about a minute a piece. This skill is undoubtedly a reference to the Thundercats cartoon. It's entirely too similar to be otherwise. PowerGamer 03:28, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- Valid points I guess. See its already been reverted. Fine with me. Kelvin Greyheart 05:31, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Mechanism[edit]
Does this skill work like avatar of melandru, where an applied condition is treated as having zero duration, thus triggering fragility? --8765 05:06, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
- Scrimmages are awesome to test things out78.20.153.111 16:34, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Edit to reflect lack of synergy[edit]
Eliminated the line:
- When used with Spirit's Strength, it functions both as a good cover enchantment and an insurance against being Blinded.
This is pointless. It will be a cover enchantment for any other enchantment, so it's not specific to use with Spirit's Strength in any way. The fact that it's an insurance against being blinded is amply explained by the rest of the page. This line has no utility, as there's no specific synergy with that particular other enchant.
Spirit's Strength is: a) useless if shattered/removed (i.e. use a cover) and b) useless when you're blind. Sight Beyond Sight does both of those in one skill. Hence, good synergy. King Neoterikos 11:27, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
The note is going back in, simply because there is good synergy, and there was no need for removing it. Besides: "The fact that it's an insurance against being blinded is amply explained by the rest of the page". You're pretty much saying it has good synergy. King Neoterikos 11:37, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
A synergy exists between these two, only because SS gives Sight beyond Sight a spot on mediocre builds with a mediocre synergy. --66.91.82.73 02:23, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- I fail to see why its not mentioned that them being under the same attr. doesn't add to the synergy... -/- bit late post -/- Discuss 00:08, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
- The problem is that the attribute is spawning power which means only primary ritualists can make this last longer with attribute points, and you don't exactly see a whole lot of them going nuts with Spirit's Strength and this, and even then it's not a very big deal if you get blinded as a primary rit (which is rare that anybody would bother) since OH NO YOUR WAND ATTACKS MIGHT MISS OH GOD or you can just use some condition removal. If this and SS were in channeling magic then it would matter a little more. Pjwned 10:11, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
This skill also removes existing Blindness, although this is not stated in its description.[edit]
The full descriptions states, "you cannot be blinded"; the concise reads, "You are immune to Blindness". Both variations are silent about what happens if you were blind before using the skill. As I see it, the reason for having a note at all is to remove the ambiguity. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 15:53, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
