Talk:Wicked Hat
Gaile: I don't know if you will see this, but here it is! Is there any way for these hats to be changed to dye-able? I would love to dye all of my wicked hats... I understand if it isn't possible but you have changed armor in the past (previously un-inscribable armor became inscribable) so it may not be very difficult. If you could ask the team to make these dye-able I would be so grateful!!! -- RavenJWolfe 23:29, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Suggestion: I'll be adding a separate page for the festival headgear later on, To list all of them, and provide a quick useable link, However there is a lot of interest in the community for a way to gain past headgear. One suggestion has been to allow a quest to gain a slightly modified (different texture) version of headgear from past festivals. For example a different colored witches hat, or a green pumpkin.

- Maybe I'm the party pooper, but that seems to completely defeat the purpose of the festival hats. They're about the only thing in the game that isn't simply available to anyone with enough time to waste acquiring it.--Fourth Horseman 23:39, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- I agree, however with a different texture, the replicas would not be easily mistaken. The idea is for a fun item similar to the GW:EN armor, that would satisfy those who missed out on the festivals for whatever reason. -Talrian
- There would still be a certain level of prestige associated with the original hats, we wouldn't want to take that form anyone. The idea is just to be able to acquire a similar item (not the same item) through a different route. A special holiday quest or mission. We don't want to detract form the old items, we just want more chances for everyone to have fun.-Nihil

- Yah, srry, gonna have to say no....these items would lose alot of prestige despite what you're saying if they made replicas. A lot of people really wouldn't be able to tell the difference, and the prestige that comes with having been around since October 2005 and having that exclusive Pumpkin crown, or preordering factions and having the tengu mask would be gone...-Warior kronos 23:30, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
I personally agree with the idea of getting replicas of old festivals. Personally, I'm sick and tired of hearing about how some things make you "l33t". Certainly there is something to be said to have all of the festival stuff from way back when, but why not let normal people who spend time with their families have a chance too?I know for a fact that for me to log on Christmas day to get an event hat isn't going to happen, mostly because I'll be with my family. But I also think that getting an exact replica wouldn't be acceptable. It should be different, but not because it takes away prestige. It would just be like, "Oh hey, you must've missed the festival".
Also, I wasn't able to even play Guild Wars until this year, so I missed out on a lot of stuff. Viktor 01:40, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- I think exclusivity of these items can be a bit silly. It's like ANet is saying "Good job, you get a reward for being able to access Guild Wars on a certain day". Most of the time you don't even have to be there to get the hat, just AFK and keep your internet connection on! Does that give a player prestige for "attending" an event? And keep in mind too that many people that pre-ordered Factions missed out on the Tengu festival because of the distributor shortage of Collectors Editions — that was a world-wide issue. - BeX 08:37, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, that with the Day of the Tengu really annoyed me, I didn't notice it until like several weeks later, as, as Bex said, it was late. I totally agree with Bex, why is it so cool to have a char standing in an outpost at a certain day? I wasn't attending to Halloween this year at all, still I got the headgear as my sister fixed that for me. Yay for me (?). - helena 15:10, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
I really like this idea. However, their would have to be some clear difference between the reproduction and the original. I say this because it would be unfair to take away the prestigious feeling of having the original. SkyMan25 22:08, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
