Talk:Wind Rider
One of these cast Shame on my warrior. I can only say /. Paddymew 15:54, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

- lol "Shame on you for using mending!". The funny thing is that the 'riders just seemed to be spamming all of their hexes randomly on the people who attacked them. Stunning AI, Anet. GG... Paddymew 21:41, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- I got cry of frustrationed eight times a row fighting these things. It's like a massive, squiggling pinkish wall of interrupts. Not to mention they come from all over the place so you end up fighting at least 18 at once, plus it's hard mode so CoF does 75 damage a hit and they NEVER MISS omg. --Jette 17:38, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- I watched in awe as six heroes (and a human ranger O.o) got killed in cryspam. Literally killed. It was like Maelstrom, but pink and with ungodly range and timing. :(
- I think that's a pretty awesome showcase of GW AI at work: phenomenal, cosmic reflexes; teeny-weeny common sense. Raine - talk 18:10, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Wind Rider AI[edit]
It's like they are made to piss you off, with most other monsters you find in EoTN you can just walk past them and they stop following within a few seconds. (for me, anyway)--The Elite Destroyer 16:06, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, pretty much. Sure are cute though. Then again, maybe that's just because I have a little one. --Jette 02:27, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
how to beat them all[edit]
This is all great info, but what is a sure strategy at defeating those rediculously large groups? I can be half a mile away and I still get hexed to death!208.92.184.201 07:25, 27 December 2009 (UTC)Zeke64

Wind Rider (EotN)[edit]
fighting these in hard mode is bullshit
- Bring Panic; watch die. --'Mai Yi' talk 20:48, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Hard mode is designed to be more difficult to play than normal mode (as the name suggests). Therefore choosing skills to counter mobs in an area should does consist of putting your average builds together and/or rushing at mobs without thinking/planning.
- In particular, wind riders are pretty lame against parties that are well-spread, have expendable meat shield in front of them, or parties with AoE shutdown skills such as Panic. Also, luring is your friend:) --Kremes 02:23, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
Your missing the point. These things travel in packs of 5-7 roughly. There are about 5 (maybe more) groups that patrol around the area and they come out of no where at some point and join to form one huge group. Along with that, your lucky not to aggro drakes and other things in the area on top of the wind riders. Arbor Bay, I believe is the area, is absurd to vanquish. Your party will be spiked down before panic has time to land. 74.243.163.114 03:22, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
- I've vanquished Arbor Bay without any problems using the setup I mentioned earlier (3 Discord Necromancers: 1 minion bomber, 2 ritu support; 1 Spirit spammer; and 1 Mesmer with Panic). If you observe their paths, patrols can be lured to already cleared areas where you can setup heroes so that Cry of Frustration affects only 1 or 2 party members. Also, doing so will make sure no other patrol group joins the fight. Takes some time and micro-management, but with the right set of skills it's not that difficult. (I've actually overaggroed them a few times, but they were raped by Panic:D) --Kremes 00:02, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
- (Hooray late comment!) In case anyone is still having trouble with these, remember that they are VERY fast at interrupting, but also VERY stupid at WHAT they interrupt. So if you have a lot of minions or spirits, your best bet is to aggro the Riders and let them interrupt the minions' attacks (no, the minions do not actually use skills, but they still CAN get interrupted). Then once they've spammed their interrupts on your cannon fodder, go in and Panic them. The rest should be easy. 50.196.48.211 19:36, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
