- nope, definitely a reg. ecto. i didn't screenshot it, though. silly me :P Detraya Fullvear 21:40, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- It would make sense. They are smites. 75.61.32.166 21:41, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

- Obviously that is possible, as the ecto drop in Underworld in not by place but by creature, which means that if there's those creatures somewhere else they will drop exactly the same. I didn't got any, but i believe they drop, which is normal. --Inflame 16:12, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Amish Paradise[edit]
If pretty sure the "party like it's 1099" is a reference to Weird Al Yankovich's song Amish Paradise. Adding. Mr.Hobo 23:29, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- isn't partying like its 1999 a saying?
- It's a song by 'Prince'. Al's is a parody, like much of what he does. Joke is older than that, so what exactly it ref' I don't know. Backsword 23:47, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- Al's is a parody of gangters paradise, not prince's and it's from prince's song 1999 because in it he says "So tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999" So I'm changing it from an Amish paradise to 1999 by prince reference.--..V,(^_^) \,,/(^_^)\,,/ (¬_¬)/¯ Ninja Dragon 23:55, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
K, thank you, didn't realize that. Mr.Hobo 00:15, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- No problem--..V,(^_^) \,,/(^_^)\,,/ (¬_¬)/¯ Ninja Dragon 23:59, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Gwen[edit]
It states specifically about not taking gwen but just wandering what happens if you do?
- You simply can't do the quest. There's no quest marker and I presume if you go there there's nothing to see. Similar to how "You must have X in your party" works. Only the other way around. Fae 00:23, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Surprise in Gwen's garden?[edit]
There was something about a surprise in Gwen's garden after you complete the quest chain. Anyone know what it is?

Additional Dialogue?[edit]
When you talk to Gwen again after the dialogue between her and Lt. Thackeray, her text changes to: "I'm sorry I was angry, <player name>. This pendant means so much to me. I can feel love in it. My mother's love, and... Thank you! Thank you for everything, my friend." I'm not sure where this should be added, but it's definitely quest related, since it changes back once you turn in the quest. Locked Gate to Norrhart Domains[edit]
My friend needed to get to Olafstead for this quest, but hadn't gotten further than Eye of the North yet. So I wanted to run her, yet the gate to Norrhart Domains is locked. She tried alone, it was still locked... The only quests she has in het log are Wintersday Cheer obviously, and Snowball Dominance. The others are the standard EotN main quests, which never were any problem... Any ideas? Sjeng 18:21, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Okay I think I found the problem: She needed to investigate the HoM before going further. Sjeng 18:22, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
I have talked with Gwen and Thackerey and still find the Norrhart gate closed. I had never been through it before and it is not open for this quest to complete. Everyone in my part had done all the quest stuff but couldn't get through. December 20, 2008 --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:166.82.48.89 (talk).
- Like Sjeng said, make sure you've launched into Eye of the North quests by exploring the Scrying Pool in the Hall of Monuments. This should clear up any and all issues regarding not being able to enter the Norrhart Domains gate. --Trailsong 08:33, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Stalking Night[edit]
I'm pretty sure that I saw some warrior versions of these with Counter Blow. Can't see any already existing ones at the moment. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 09:42, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

White Jingle Moa[edit]

2010 Update?[edit]
After the HotN update today, I decided to get another character through WiK. While attempting to do the step wherein Evennia recruits the EV, I knew I had to first handle Thackeray and Gwen's romance. However he gave me a quest called "A Good Deed" which follows exactly as this one did. I did not do any other quests before it, and I did not receive any other after it. Completing it did start their romance dialogues in the Hall. The quest was listed as a festival quest, though I feel like it's been added more as a means to go about WiK without doing the other Wintersday quests. No idea, though. So I guess what I am posting for is to see if others have experienced this/can shed light onto what is happening, such as if this quest has just been renamed or is being replaced, etc. --71.58.105.97 08:34, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- I have noticed the same, I believe it somehow triggers the scavenger hunt. The fact its listed as "Festival Quest" strikes me a bit odd. Also its called "A Good Deed." with a fullstop, did they mean it this way? --Smithy-Star 13:16, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- I'm a good 99% This is a slight quest alteration, as when you hit F10 for ingame help and click "A Good Deed." It takes you directly to this page from the ID and not a redirect. I don't know how this should be organised then. --Smithy-Star 13:19, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, I hadn't thought to do that, as I usually play with this wiki open for alt-tabbing into it. That fact and the below post about John's statement probably means it's just been modified slightly so we can do it regardless of Wintersday running or not. That makes sense, though interestingly (to me) I did have a character who hadn't done these quests in previous Wintersdays and was able to go directly to the scavenger hunt fetching without it. I like that now this is a regular part of the sequence. --71.58.105.97 20:21, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

- John as statedthat they were taking this out of the festival so that people could experience all the new conent without hving to wait until a specific part of the year to start. Backsword 13:32, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
still here?[edit]
I can't find this quest anymore --'Mai Yi' talk 00:06, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- Probably depends on your progression in Hearts of the North. If Gwen's already married, no need to cheer her up. -- FreedomBound 02:11, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thackeray isn't in the outpost anymore, so he'd be somewhere else. Probably right outside the Eye - where he gives A Good Deed. If this is still around, the two are probably mutually exclusive. -- Konig/talk 14:28, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, this quest no longer exists as it has been changed to A Good Deed. So, this quest is no longer among the Wintersday quests and is no longer obtainable each year. --Musha 17:02, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes I did it just now on my survivor it seems you can only do it during wintersday event and the reward now currently no winterday items as a reward and will not give you the Jingle Polar Bear after completion.85.243.137.72 12:54, 2 January 2011 (UTC) Cake and Waffles
