Once the issue has been resolved, does the original page need to be tagged for deletion? -- Brains12 \ talk 16:06, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- The way in which this has been handled will make deletion impossible, since the attributions need an active link to prove that the information has been copied over. Redirects have the same effect as a deletion tag, without actually deleting the article.(Terra Xin 03:35, 27 July 2008 (UTC))
- The GFDL only says that five principle authors of the source document (or all of them, if there are less than five) need to be credited. I don't believe there is any obligation to retain the source document. -- Gordon Ecker 05:32, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yep, all the rules basicly boils down to;Keep it GFDL and attribute. As long as this is done in any form, all should be fine.Backsword 12:17, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- Sidenote:You can't copyright PD material, so that can never come to fall under GFDL, thus never reequiring attribution. Backsword 12:19, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- However derivative works incorporating public domain material aren't necessarily public domain themselves. -- Gordon Ecker 00:15, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Auto-categorization[edit]
Should the resolved version auto-categorize as well? -- Gordon Ecker 02:59, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
