Sorting on No Secondary[edit]
It was actually quite intentional on my part to keep all of the quests for a profession together, independent of the no-secondary criterion. --DryHumour 07:18, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
- But is that the most important grouping? The type of professional requirement is an important criteria as well in my opinion. However, there may also need to be special handling of just primary profession requirements. How about a 'sort key' keyword parameter that defaults to {{{1}}} or a 'sort prefix' keyword that is empty by default? --Max 2 15:36, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
- I think that it is the more important grouping. The prefix is a good idea in principle, but I suspect that it won't work in practice: the tables in the quest lists are generated by DPL, which simply grabs the information verbatim from the template. What would be needed is a mechanism which would sort differently depending on the needs of the table being generated (i.e. context sensitive). You might be better off generating an entirely separate table for a "Beginner's Guide"; I'm pretty sure that you can formulate the necessary DPL to grab the template parameters and use them in a generated sort key. --DryHumour 17:52, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
