Isn't this a condition of posting to the wiki in the first place? Vladtheemailer 14:18, 19 March 2007 (EDT)
- ... Yes. +del, anyone? MisterPepe talk 14:19, 19 March 2007 (EDT)
- I'd say it's not necessarily pointless. Posting to the wiki releases your contribution under GFDL 1.2. This template could be used for releasing under all GFDL versions. --Rezyk 14:24, 19 March 2007 (EDT)
- With the addition of the 'or later versions' it makes more sense. I'm not sure about the text "If you decide to use this template on your user page, it acts as a binding license and cannot be revoked from content that it pertains to."... if one removes this from their User page, is someone really going to be checking the User's contributions to ensure that any made between the time the user had the template and then removed it, is somehow marked that its under GFDL1.2+ not just GFDL1.2? - Even if we don't mark them, or have that text, it should still hold true. (and we'd probably only be marking images, I'm guessing?) --Rezyk 14:54, 19 March 2007 (EDT)
