Argos is a rather surly character. He is often aggressive and acts impulsively without thinking of the consequences, and can also a bit of a drunkard. He was born into a poor Ascalonian family, living with only his father for the majority of his life. His mother died when he was seven. She was on the way to meet a friend in the fishing village of Wizard's Folly when she was attacked by a group of fierce territorial Skales. To ensure nothing like this ever happened again they began training together. Argos' father was later asked into the prestigious Guild; Ascalon's Chosen, during the last Guild War. His father survived the vicious attacks from the other Guilds of Orr and Kryta, but sadly lost one of his arms and was no longer fit for combat. He knew he could never be a great fighter again, so he wished to mentor Argos, and teach him the ways of a powerful Warrior. Argos, while still honing his skills as he grew, later opened a bar in the Kingdom of Ascalon, as his father was unable to work. He used this bar to provide for both his father and himself, while he trained in the mornings before he opened. Argos often enjoyed an Ale and found great pleasure in running his bar. He was later conscripted into the Ascalon Army to help fight against the Charr threat. Prior fighting against the Charr, Argos' would often drink an ale to calm his nerves. Unfortunately, in an act of stupidity he took one too many drinks right before battle and accidently stabbed a fellow soldier in the arm during combat. He was discharged from the Ascalon Army and had his bar closed down to pay for the damages. After this horrific incident Argos' drank his sorrows away, and vowed he would never let something so careless happen again. He pledged to redeem himself and went to stop the Charr threat, doing anything he could to save Ascalon. However, it was at that moment that the Charr unleashed a powerful magic known as The Searing. Argos rapidly ran to save his father from the giant crystalline meteorites that were hurtling down upon the Kingdom. Though both survived the attack, much was lost that day. Argos then went on a journey, leaving his father in the care of some close friends, to help rebuild the Kingdom and destroy all evils. |
