Sarin is a bold and outgoing leader. He tends to be rather social and enjoys responsibility. He grew up in Vabbi with a sister; Sahraneth, and two wealthy parents, both actors and writers who often performed for Prince Bokka the Magnificent. His parents encouraged them to be scholars, and both Sarin and Sahraneth spent much time cooped up in the libraries of the Halls of Chokhin. Upon reading through history of Elona both children learnt of the mighty battle between Turai Ossa and Palawa Joko. After reading about his escapades they studied more history of the Ossa line, eventually leading to articles of the current leader of Kourna; Warmarshal Varesh Ossa. They also studied many other prominent leaders, such as Spearmarshal Kormir. Both Sarin and Sahraneth were intrigued, and pleaded with their parents to allow them to travel to Istan and train with the Sunspears to become great leaders like those they had read of and admired. As the pair began their travels to Istan, they saw many new lands, from the Yatendi Canyons of Vabbi to the Marga Coast of Kourna. However, while traversing the lands of Kourna and seeking passage to Istan, the duo were ambushed by a ruthless group of Corsairs. Both were knocked unconscious after a bloody battle. Sarin did not awake until two days after the incident, and his first sight was horrific; the bloody corpse of his sister. Her clothes torn, all possessions lost, skin bruised, and blood seeping out the many wounds on her body. Sarin, also badly wounded himself and lucky to be alive, believed his narrow escape of death was a sign from the Gods. He had been blessed by divinity; the Gods of Tyria. He had read that Paragons are said to be blessed by these deities and are destined by fate to become powerful leaders under the eyes of the Gods. From this he knew that he must train with the Sunspears to become a strong leader in combat, and defend the five Gods from any that opposed. He also vowed to avenge his sister that had not been as fortunate as he had been, to be given a second chance. |
