Zerick Velinious: Zerick is often humourous and witty, using humour as a defensive mechanism to cover up some of the grave misfortunes of his past. Much of Zerick's past is unknown, and he never likes to talk about his childhood or family. No one quite knows what happened in his childhood that is so troubling to him, however it is rumoured he saw his parents slaughtered before his own eyes by some merciless thugs, possibly of the Crimson Skull Guild. He was found as a teenager aimlessly wandering the fields of Shing Jea Island alone. Master Togo allowed him to stay at the monastery and assigned Headmaster Kuju to teach him the ways of a Necromancer, as he had shown much interest in the arts of the dead. Some say he originally wished to use these powers to bring back his parents from the dead, however when he learnt they would only be animated as soul-less horrifying beings he accepted the fate of his parents and continued to focus on his studies. Upon the day that Master Togo visited Minister Cho's Estate, there was a horrible outbreak of an unknown plague. As many students and teachers at the monastery were called to assist, Zerick stumbled upon a lone girl crying as a hideous beast was marching at her parents. Swiftly Zerick summoned up an army of undead from the corpses of those that had already passed on from this beast, and charged this army at the afflicted horror. Some say this was because he could not bare to see another child have their parents slaughtered in front on them (If that really is what happened in his childhood), others say it was just his instincts. Either way, after that incidient, Zerick vowed to find and destroy this source of evil, and any other evils he may find upon his travels through foreign lands.
