Remember remember the 5th of November[edit]
To those that were involved in the discussion about my (opinion of) long signature tag.
- Those that had no problem with it and/or saw my side of it, thank you.
- Those that did have an issue with it, but were decent about it, also, thanks for presenting your opinion on this in a reasonable way.
- Those that are enforcing double standards about it, and hypocrites, piss off. You have succeeded in driving away a potentialy useful contributor. Hope the site doesn't have to suffer too much because of you.
- Some of you are from the first group, and some are in both. The sad part is that either you don't see anything wrong with it, or else, and this is even sadder, you don't see yourselves as being this way. If you are that clueless, then there is nothing that will get through to you. Either way, enjoy trying to ruin the site for anyone else.
That being said, you will not have to worry about my signature being too long any more, I will not be making use of this user account, if I ever decide to try to be helpful and make any changes in the future. - Guy Fawkes Remember remember the 5th of November...
America, I hope you don't let your Government take you down the road to Socialism. Take example from Britain and Canada. They tried Socialised medicine, it doesn't work.
Warning: Freedom of Speech is encouraged here! If this may offend you, you have been warned. If you read something on these pages that offends you, you now have no one else to blame but yourself. |
Guy Fawkes wishes you a Happy November 5, 2024!
"Remember, remember the 5th of November, the gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot." "People should not be afraid of their Governments. Governments should be afraid of their People." - Guy Fawkes (circa 1605)
See the section at the bottom of this page for links to more information about Guy Fawkes (the actual person).
I have been playing Guild Wars since about four years after the game originally came out, and still like it as much as I have since I started. I only recently got into quite a bit heavier use of the Wiki pages available, including editing some of them to help out the community. I will be tweaking and adjusting and editing this page as I learn new updates and ways to make things look better.
Two of my biggest pet peeves in the game are spammers and racists, and I have little tolerance for either in the chats in town.
I also do enjoy a good discussion on many things (I am adding a political talk page for those that wish to see my views and post theirs) and enjoy an actual discussion, even if I might not agree with your point of view. As long as your response isn't "well, you're stupid for thinking that way, so there", I feel everyone has a valid opinion and should be allowed to express it. I am not posting the political discussion on the regular talk page, because not everyone would necessarily want to see it.
I also believe that people should have Freedom of Speech, and encourage everyone visiting this page to express that Freedom. The only restrictions that I ask people to follow is no racial slurs, and no generally accepted hate words (you should know what they are already). While excercising that freedom, please do not infringe on someone else's freedom. This does not include your freedom to not be offended; that is a privilege, not a freedom.
NOTE - Removed IMPORTANT NOTE(S) section for editing, will repost corrected comments when finished.
List of Subpages[edit]
My intent is to have some pages of tables and information that I have found helpful during my playing of Guild Wars and on the GWWiki. Take a look at them if you want. Who knows, you might find some useful information there as well.
- ColorTable (added 25-OCT-2009)
- Political Discussion (added 25-OCT-2009)
- Armor Tables (added 26-OCT-2009)
I am posting the dates I add these pages more for me than anything else.

Trivia and information about the original Guy Fawkes[edit]
Guy Fawkes was one of a group of people in England, who, on November 5th, 1605, attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament, and the then King of England, King James I. He was caught in the act of attempting to set off the powder kegs that had been placed underneath the Parliament, and was executed in January 1606 for his crimes against the Crown.
Guy Fawkes Day (sometimes celebrated as Guy Fawkes Night) was celebrated beginning on November 5th 1606, the first anniversary of the failed assassination attempt. During these events, among other things, is the burning of Guy Fawkes in effigy. This event has been celebrated annually in many English colonies and former colonies since.
Most recently, the figure of Guy Fawkes was brought back to the minds of the public in the movie V for Vendetta starring Huge Weaving in the title role wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, and costarring Natalie Portman. During this movie, the character of V uses the line attributed to Guy Fawkes which is listed above.
