Jack Valmont was a young hero in search of adventure on the day that he arrived in the city of Ascalon. He had traveled north through the lower edge of the Southern Shiverpeaks into the city when he had heard tell of an impending invasion of the Charr. He was introduced to Devona in Ashford through his friend and mentor, Aiden.

Much has happened since then. He has truly come a long way from "the innocent days of protecting people from bees."
