Sly Blu was an only child, born in Tyria, that became fascinated with the elements at a very early age. She especially loved fire, and against her parents wishes, dabbled in all aspects of it.

Sly Blu was born in Tyria 20 years before the Searing. An only child that was spoiled by her parents. She befriended Cynn early in her childhood, and the two of them became "birds of a feather", biting off more than they could chew most of the time, constantly getting themselves and their friends into trouble. Sly Blu was with Cynn in Surmia, when the Charr attacked. Surmia was one of the first places to fall during the initial attack. As Cynn's parents were killed in this attack, Sly Blu was trapped for several days with Cynn, under a broken table. When the Charr sniffed them out, the two of them together wiped out an entire warband, turning them and the remains of Cynn's home into a smoldering pile of ashes.
