Walkthrough[edit]

Players will find this mission a little weird, as they will move between two disguises across the mission - Ronan's and Ventari's. They'll have two different skill bars during the mission, and thus will be a little harder to get used to. To balance this out, the enemies in this mission will all be of lower level then those in the other missions. Both disguises give you 550 Health, 50 Energy, 4 Energy regeneration.

Part 1: Ronan[edit]

Players will begin the mission in control of Ronan as he and his partners enter a clearing. One of his allies will exclaim that the White Mantle camp is just over the ridge, and motion for Ronan to follow him and the other NPC. Once the player leaves the clearing, the mission begins in proper. The group will make their way to the edge of the camp, where Ronan will suggest splitting up to get a better view of the grounds. The player will then have to navigate their way around, without alerting the Mantle in the camp. Once he reaches a high spot overlooking the camp, he'll notice the Mantle capturing one of his allies, and being executed by the Mursaat. Players will be blocked from heading the way of there other allies by the Mantle, and will then have to direct Ronan away from the campsite, finally ending up in the cave filled with seed pods, setting off the first cutscene.

Part 2: Ventari[edit]

Players will take control of Ventari as he reaches the border of Kryta and the Maguuma Jungle. He'll get attacked by the mantle, but only a small group, which he will effectively disarm rather then fight. You'll have to make your way through two ambushes as he continues along the only path to the south. When players reach a fork in the road, a large sound will resound offscreen, and Ventari will remark about needing to climb higher to see it. Players will then need to fend off small groups of native enemies (wind riders and venomweavers as mixed groups.) until he reaches the summit where a cutscene plays.

Part 3: Ronan[edit]

Players will now have to attempt to reach Ventari to defend him from the incoming Mantle. Players will have the opportunity to activate several environmental traps, each of which will knock out a group of Mantle. It will be possible, but very hard to activate all of these traps as completing this feat forms a discovery for this mission. Under run of the mill circumstances, players will have to face off against two groups, but they will receive a buff as long the characters remain close. Once these mantle are killed, a cutscene plays and the viewpoint switches again.

Part 4: Ventari[edit]

During this last section players will have a corresponding buff so long as they remain close to Ronan. The player will need to protect Ronan as he barrels down towards his home, which will one day be Ventari's sanctuary. The major difference is the absence of water. Players will mostly encounter simians and spiders, with one group of mantle close to the village. Upon reaching the village, players will run into a Mursaat - Proditor Exuro, who will taunt the player and Ronan before turning hostile. Players will have to not only keep Ronan alive, but halt the progress of the wind riders who will seem to appear from the surrounds. Once Exuro reaches 50% health he will cast a spell which will cause rain to begin to fall in droves, cutting movement speed of the pair in half. Once Exuro reaches 5% health he'll turn ally, cast one last spell cursing Ronan, and die in a torrent of water. The last cutscene will then play.

Discovery: Stealth[edit]

The key to this discovery is going slowly - despite the rushed pace of the narrative, there are no time limits in this mission.

Discovery: Nature's Aide[edit]

This discovery the hardest of the three, but provides the biggest payoff. You will need to carefully decide the order to hit the environmental controls in, the order you will find it easiest is not the one which is first apparent.

Discovery: Warning the People[edit]

Like the other two discoveries, this discovery involves skillful play - as the Mursaat and Wind Riders are both spell casters, ample use of Spell Breaker will make this discovery possible.

Cinematics[edit]

Cinematic 1[edit]

Ronan stumbles slowly into the cave, which glows with a soft light as if from a large group of fireflies. He gapes in wonder and bends down to pickup a seed, as a big mixed group of plants (comprised of four Twisted Barks, Three Undergrowths and 10 Thorn Wolfs.) spawns at the back of the cave and heads towards Ronan. Ronan flees the scene and it momentarily fades to black, zooming into the image of Ventari where the next section starts.

Cinematic 2[edit]

The camera pans around behind Ventari, and he'll say something briefly about the fires to the south, spotting some of the Mantle moving through the brush below. The camera will then move towards the trees and zoom into the back of Ronan as it did with Ventari before.

Cinematic 3[edit]

Ronan will say about the Mantle being scum, and Ventari will introduce himself. There is a brief exchange that follows, with Ventari offering to at least help Ronan back to his home in thanks for saving Ventari's life.

Cinematic 4[edit]

The camera will stay close to Ronan as he walks to the centre of the village, and drops his weapons at seeing the corpse of his wife. He'll cry out in anger, and Ventari will come to comfort him. In return, Ronan gives Ventari the seed, which then has Ventari kneeling down. The monologue begins as Ventari kneels, the camera sweeping across to show several scenes. Initially, it shows Ventari's old home with the Centaurs standing over the corpses of the human traders who were there with him, changing to the Shining Blade standing over the corpses of the Mantle in the Temple of Tolerance, to finally coming back to the village, now Ventari's sanctuary. The final image is the tree standing in the center of the village with Ronan and Ventari's backs in the background.

"Tyria is a world of wonder, worries and war."
"Think of all the rivers of blood spilled by many creatures so that.."
"...they could claim a small fraction of the continent as their own."
"How eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds."
"Not all have stood willing in this conflict."
"And those that stood aside would change the world forever in their restraint...."
