Research on Wait Times in AB

Belief is that the wait times in AB is directly related to the design flaw of stacked maps. That the side that plays on a stacked map that favors them wait significantly longer than the other side because the other side has little motivation to be a punching bag for much less faction.

Notes

  • So far this shows support for there being more Kurzicks than Luxons.
  • It also shows that there is a more wait for teams on a map that favors them.
  • Even though there is a greater wait with the Kurzicks than Luxons on their stacked map, I have experienced situations where I have 14 waits on the Luxon side. Doesn't seem to be as pervasive as with the Kurzicks. This may be an issue with how long a map stays on a stacked side (allowing the population to become skewed, versus times when maps change frequently).
  • Even if the population imbalance is true. This doesnt help prevent Kurzicks from having to wait 10 minutes on their stacked maps on average. With the advent of title based skills, people have too much invested to simply change to the Luxon side to help balance out the overall populations.
  • Was with the change over from Kaanai to Etnaran, first hour there were no waits on Etnaran. Played again 3 hours later, was still on same map and now the 5-6 waits consistantly. Leads to the notion that the population balance gets out of wack when the map doesnt change [since its scheduled to change every 3 hours based on who wins/loses more].
