Play Style

I play exclusively solo and only deal with henchmen when necessary. Each of my characters has their own personality. For instance:

Yoko, my first character, is almost motherly. She's stayed in Pre-Searing Ascalon for the calm and to attempt to help new players.

Sosei, Yoko's defacto older brother, is a dignified general. He has gone farther than the others and intends to find Cantha, the land of his mother. He never talks to others if he can help it and tends to ignore them or politely rebuff them.

Zetsumei, the youngest of the siblings, is brash and war-minded. She has the cunning of a fox and is ruthlessly determined to succeed in all her ambitions. She is far more likely to snarl at players who try to talk with her or recruit her.

Characters' Backstory

Aiko Shiromori came to Ascalon as a refugee from Cantha, running from the wars. She fell in love with a soldier, Jack Tramm, and they married. Jack took Aiko's family name to distance himself from his own family who had died at the hands of the Charr.

Their first child, Sosei, was born when the family was stationed in Ascalon City where they stayed for five years before Jack was transfered to Fort Ranik, where Yoko was born a year later. Sosei showed ability as an elementalist early on, and was taught by many varied sorcerers as they passed through the fort. Yoko, on the other hand, loved the forest and it's animals. Melandru taught the second child through her rangers and animals and Yoko blossomed into an apt ranger under their tutelage. When Yoko was seven and Sosei thirteen, Zetsumei was born. From the start, the youngest daughter was a brash wild-child, rarely thinking ahead. During the family's time near Ashford Abbey she fell in with the necromancers there and all but left the family to train under them.

By the time of the Searing Sosei, at age twenty-seven, had enlisted with the Ascalon Army and was on a tour of duty outside the Great Wall. Yoko, at twenty-two, stayed close to home traveling the forests and learning. Zetsumei, only fifteen, had lost all contact with her family and her whereabouts were unknown.

We had just turned back for home when it hit. it was like being thrust into a waking nightmare. All we could do was take cover and watch as the Charr destroyed all we had been trying to protect. -Sosei Shiromori

When the sky cleared, he and his troop finished the march to the remnants of home. It was here the firstborn son learned the fate of his family. His parents had died, their home crushed under the crystals. Yoko had also perished, and Sosei found her remains in the area that had once been her favorite place, the Secret Garden. Zetsumei's remains were never found, and Sosei suspects she is alive somewhere.

• Though Yoko was created first, she is atcually considered the middle child.
• Each character's name has a meaning:
  • Sosei means 'rebirth'
  • Yoko is a name sometimes used to refer to fox demons
  • Zetsumei means death
• The family name means 'white forest'
• Zetsumei as an in-game character no longer exists (having been deleted) and remains for backstory only.
  • Kazeshi Hibari was created partly in her stead. Her backstory is under construction.
