Preface[edit]
I'm far from being a backline specialist, but I do enjoy monking every now and then. This Arena Monk is a pretty solid setup in my humble opinion. I only have a PvP Monk so no perfect gear either. The main weakness of the skill bar is Condition Control. While Mending Touch has the great property of removing 2 conditions, the touch-range requirement is quite a hassle sometimes as well as its inability to deal with condition spamming such as BSurge/Oppressive Gaze.
Skill bar[edit]
Patient Spirit | Word of Healing | Guardian | Signet of Rejuvenation | Mending Touch | Cure Hex | Holy Veil | Balanced Stance |
Attributes[edit]
- 14 Healing Prayers (12+1+1)
- 8 Protection Prayers (7+1)
- 8 Divine Favor (8+0)
- 8 Tactics
Variants[edit]
- A variant of a monk is a completely different monk bar usually.
Equipment[edit]
If I had perfect gear I would run this
- Disciple Insignias on Chest and legs
- Survivor on the Rest
- Q7/15 AL Tactics Shields
- 40/40 heal
- 40/20/20 Prot staff
- Spear of Fortitude + Tactics Shield
- 20/20 Heal High set
- I like having a daze rune personally (and Daze Shield in inventory)
- Bunch of vitae runes will do it other than that.
Usage[edit]
- Self-explanatory
- Pre-veil 2/3 people on your staff set before the game begins (Frontline, you and/or other physical(s)). If pre-veiling was useful before the game, then do it during the game.
- Have the decency to cast Guardian on your allies when they need it.
- Don't accept baseless flaming directed towards you, most RA players suck hard and do not even know that. Point that fact out, a good monk can't carry a team of noobs very long.
- Make sure you cover your pre-veil with guardian and/or patient spirit when the veiled ally(ies) are at risk of being enchant stripped.
- Fake Cast Cure Hex
