The Pointless knows nothing of his past prior to waking up in the Echovald with only a young student Mesmer to greet him, not even why he was in Cantha in the first place. Upon returning to his native Ascalon, he set about trying to regain his lost memories, an endeavour that cost him two years yet yielded no results and almost sent him on a downward spiral into insanity, were it not for a chance encounter with a Ranger by the name of Hadrian Stinger.
A frustrated Pointless had decided to make a short trip into Wizard's Folly and exact his frustration on some black bears. His frustration, however, landed him it hot water as he found himself surrounded by bears with no chance of escape. Stinger had shown up just in the nick of time, launching a barrage of arrow that killed most of the bears and scared off the rest of them.
It was Stinger that advised the Warrior to stop seeking his lost past and carve out a new one for himself. After all, if it had taken him two years without results, then it's most likely not worth wasting any more of his precious time searching. Stinger had been kind enough to listen to The Pointless' story, and The Pointless decided to accept Stinger's advice.
Since that encounter, The Pointless and Hadrian Stinger never met again, but The Pointless to this day continues to act on Stinger's advice, carving his own path through the remainder of his natural life.
