- Sion was born in Rin, capital of the Kingdom of Ascalon. His father was the head of one of the most important noble families of Rin, the De Wallenrod family. Like every nobleman, Sion was taught the art of war and was trained in the use of swords and shields.
Sion was remarkably good, and so he attracted the attention of the royal family. He was appointed as a promising warrior by Prince Rurik himself and joined the Ascalon Academy.
After years of hard training, Sion finally was going to become a soldier to fight the Charr. But the Charr stroke first with the Searing. Every place of Ascalon burned to ashes, and Rin was not an exception. Sion's family died, and he swore to destroy the ones behind their murders.
