General Information[edit]
Background:[edit]
- I've been a fan of RPG's, D&D in particular, since around 1980, playing both the PnP and PC games. I got interested in Guild Wars after getting frustrated with the way PC RPG games were going. After Baldur's Gate, everything else was just boring. Guild Wars has the old Baldur's Gate feeling about it, a main story, tons of side quests, and the open sandbox feeling.
- Trina is my oldest character in Guild Wars. When I play D&D, my favorite classes are Rogue, Sorcerer, and Monk. Trina got her name from my D&D Rogue, Trina LeFleur and was the closest I could get to a Rogue in Guild Wars when I started out, but Dai Lao is even better. Unfortunately, Dai Lao hasn't visited as many areas as Trina has, so I used Trina to do most of the Hall of Monuments' titles.
Waiting for GW2:[edit]
- I played Guild Wars daily from January 26, 2008 through April 20, 2011, when I got as far as I could in the Hall of Monuments Rewards (41/50) without some serious grinding, (which I really hate.)
- After that, I usually just did the Special Events, and occasionally worked on the Hall of Monuments' titles.
- During the next year, I finally managed to raise my Hall of Monuments Rewards' score to 45/50. Without the Obsidian Armor (and 20 more titles) the "Champion of the Gods" title is not only impossible, it's not even worth the effort.
- Between Special Events I played Runes of Magic, Star Trek Online, and Dungeons & Dragons Online, while waiting for Guild Wars 2 to be released.
GW2 History:[edit]
- I pre-purchased Guild Wars 2, and played during the Beta Weekends. My favorite professions are the Ranger, Mesmer, and the Thief. Of the racial skills, the Norn, and Asura are the best for my playstyle. The Norn are the best melee race, while the Asura are the best explorers.
- I've limited myself to eight characters in GW2. The Thief is my favorite GW2 profession, so I had one in each race. As I also like the GW2 Mesmer and Ranger, I have one of them too. After watching others, and hearing how great they are at melee, I recently added a Guardian. The Charr are the most difficult for me to play, they look like a human in a cat costume, but with a long neck, and arms. They lumber around like bears, not like they do in GW1. It's very annoying, to me. I ended up deleting the Charr Thief when I discovered it was the Charr outfits that creeped me out. I ended up creating a Charr Guardian, who's Heritage armor is actually pleasant enough to play.
- GW1 names were only reserved until two and a half months after release, so I saved my favorites, as shown below.
- I have three one-word named characters; Abizea: a Sylvari Thief, Peba: an Asura Mesmer, and Wycha: a Charr Guardian.
- I have since become disenchanted with Guild Wars 2. There is no end game, PvE is dying out, and Anet is concentrating almost all of it's efforts on PvP and WvW, which I do not do. I am hoping that when an expansion comes out, most of it's shortcomings will be addressed, much like Fractions and Eye of the North addressed the problems in Prophecy and Nightfall respectively, but I doubt that considering that their current focus is on the PvP and WvW side of the game.

Why 13 Characters?[edit]
- Originally, I had the four from Prophecies, two from Factions, and later, two from Nightfall.
- The characters I had were Trina, Dai, Tara, Alana, and Shiro. I kept playing around with Fade, Noy, and my Necro's builds when I decided to have at least one character in each profession. So, I added three more slots, bringing the total to eleven. Then, realizing I didn't have a single Prophecies character, I added another slot, and created Gunther. After the Hall of Monuments rewards calculator came out, I renamed several characters, and fell in love with the Enda Wyld name, and added the thirteenth character.
- My Imbagon Paragon was never much fun to play, so I deleted her and created Myra Ja. When the Dervish skills were reworked, my Dervish became unplayable for me, so I deleted her, and created Cathay.
- After playing Dungeon's & Dragons Online for several months, I decided to delete my necromancer, and recreated my DDO Rogue, Slysen Dice.
