Hey, what's up everybody! As you can see by the title page up there, my name's Regina Buenaobra.
I was born in Southeast Asia, raised in North America, and went to university in Europe.
I have an undergraduate degree in Management and a Master's degree in Organizational and Social Psychology. I wrote my Master's thesis on video game culture. Ever since my university days, I've maintained a strong interest in gaming culture and communities.
Through a combination of education, passion, experience, skill, and luck, I was able to land a community management job in 2007 working at Xfire. I've been a Guild Wars fan for a while, so you can imagine how excited I am to be here at ArenaNet. :-) I've been working at ArenaNet since 2008, and it's been a blast so far.
I'm part of a team of community managers for Guild Wars, which includes Martin Kerstein, our German Community Manager. As part of our roles as community managers, we monitor and convey your feedback to the ArenaNet developers. I also assist in writing and editing content for the official Guild Wars website (such as Developer Updates, and other articles), attend conventions to meet fans, consult with members of the Live Team on what's happening in the game, advise on and help draft policy, and a bunch of other responsibilities.
Guild Wars
I've been playing Guild Wars since 2005. My main character on my personal account is a Tyrian Necromancer/Mesmer. I have two more heavily used alts, a Canthan Warrior/Mesmer (typically) and an Elonian Paragon/Warrior. I have a Pre-Searing Mesmer that I'm trying to get to 20, but that's a back burner project for now. I have various other characters that are used for storage or have been abandoned due to time constraints or because I decided I didn't like their appearance after all (but I didn't want to delete them). Although my main character is a Necromancer primary, my favorite Profession is the Mesmer, followed by Necromancer.
I'm already a member of a guild on my personal account, and I'm not planning on leaving them anytime soon. Thanks for the offers, though. :-)
