Changing Characters Names
Renaming your characters would be a good feature for the game. If people get tired of the name they use, or if they thought of a better one while playing the game, the only option to change it, is by deleting your character and making a new one. This isn't a solution if you played the character for alot of hours, and don't really want to delete it. The only way to change your characters name without deleting it, is to get banned for an inappropriate username. This is often not an option for people who actually want to change their names, and is not possible for people who don't have an inappropriate username. Therefore I think it's usefull to build in a name changing feature. It shouldn't be too much work for Arenanet to program it, scince they already have a name changing feature after getting banned for an inappropriate username.
- Why this is a good idea
- People don't have to delete their characters, and lose the hours they played on them to change a name they don't like anymore.
- The names can be changed when people found out it's not spelled correct, when it's hard to pronounce for other people or when your name looks alot like other names etc, etc.
- Why it may not work out
- Scammers might abuse the name changing feature, so they can come back under a diffrent name. (This can be stopped by making the name changing feature cost 10k ingame money for example. Or by giving a vouch for changing your name when your character exists for a year)
