Competitive Missions - Teaming (Discussion)[edit]
The Suggestion is to make Competitive Missions Fort Aspenwood and The Jade Quarry as Teams before entering, instead of the Random teams formed by "Enter Battle" button.
Have you ever had a leecher on your team while playing at Fort Aspenwood? More than 90% of the Guild Wars community who enter this mission often will answer Yes. There are leechers, there are also bots, we've seen all kinds of them. Some members of your team refuse to report, because they don't want dishonor points in case 1/3 of the team does not back up their report. In addition, the leechers recieves only 10 dishonor points(10 mins without PvPing, as if that was a harsh punishment, really...)after 5 reports.
This suggestion makes all leechers and bots instantly useless. If you were able to decide who comes in the mission with you, would you invite a leecher/bot? Certainly not. And that's it, leechers/botters do NOT get in your team, end of story(for them). In addition, this allows us to form teams with friends, instead of hoping that you will be together(I have seen people trying to hit the "Enter Battle" button at the same time, hoping so much to play together...). Besides, if you see a known leecher in your team and your team leader refuses to kick him/her out, you may simply leave the team(before the match starts), right? Competitive missions just become more interesting, as your team will not lack Monks anymore(since you decide your team, instead of hoping for a monk when the match starts), both sides become stronger, hence a more challenging, enjoyable battle(come prepared with combos) for both.
Note: Arena Net just has to use the same team system as the one in Alliance Battles. Maybe make a team of 8, or two teams of 4(just like AB does 3 teams of 4). They already have a "way" to do it(not asking them to create anything out of the ordinary or totally new here!!), making competitive missions Team based instead of Random will not require a lot of work from the programmers either.
- Why this is a good idea
- Lowers amount of leechers and bots
- Play with people you know
- Why it may not work out
