Victory Detection in Heroes' Ascent[edit]
- On maps where you can determine the winner before the match ends (like capture points and king of the hill), it would be nice if the game could automatically end the game when no other team has a chance of winning. Example: It's king of the hill in CY, there are 2 minutes left on the timer, and blue team is up 5 points. Obviously, it's impossible for them to lose, but red team has never been to CY before because they suck, but can still beat good people running randomway, so instead of resigning, they apply some death penalty to blue's team. Blue should automatically win when the timer hits 2 minutes (assuming that's when they got the 5th additional).
- Likewise, in capture points (lets say 3 way halls), if there is a minute left on the timer and blue team is up by more than 8 points, they should automatically win.
- Why this is a good idea
- You don't waste people's time, and bad gimmick teams can't give good players additional DP.
- Why this may not work out
- Someone at arenanet would have to learn math and/or deductive logic, something they've been putting off for a long time.
- As with any automated reward system, it would be possible for people to find a way to abuse the system.
