Worst skill ever[edit]

is Wastrel's Collapse. — Teh Uber Pwnzer 04:43, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

It has uses. Blackout (from another player), collapse. It's just to pressure you to use a skill. Obviously it's not very good, mainly cause the duration is too long, but it's still better than Ether Lord. --8765 04:46, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Skill comparison:
Wastrel's Collapse:
  • Elite.
  • Fails if the target uses a skill.
  • You mentioned probably the only use, but using that also makes you near useless, while providing a near useless benefit considering that the enemy is already useless (i.e. its nearly the same as using only blackout).
Ether Lord:
  • Not elite.
  • It can at least be used to cause (minor) drain on your enemy's energy without making you completely useless.
Wastrel's Collapse is seriously the most useless skill ever. — Teh Uber Pwnzer 05:00, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
The point of wastrel's collaspe is not to kd them down. It's to setup a lose-lose situation. If you blackout a monk during a split, they probably will just run around until it's done. Heck, monks will just run from sins anyways. Collapse could make a snare. Or, for what it's meant to do, entice your enemy to use a skill, and then maybe interrupt it or something. Or better yet, get daze on that monk, collapse, and really pressure them. And unlike WW, you don't need to invest points into it.
Ether Lord, mesmers run 9 or 11 inspiration, which means 5.3 energy denied/gained and 6 energy denied/gain respectively, at the cost of all your energy, possibly removed since you yourself can't cover it, and can't be maintained like most other energy-degen hexes. --8765 02:06, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

OMG SOOOOO BADLY Quick Shot --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Hubbard (talk).

Plz use engrish. And QS is not nearly as bad as Wastrel's Collapse was. QS is unconditional, and is equivalent of firing two arrows instead of one. --8765 03:28, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

u have no honor!!![edit]

see talk page on bladed ataxe, this guy is a dam gold site user, shame on u!!!!!!74.186.169.130 22:31, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

I'll quote myself then [i]"Well spamming is the first problem, and I bet is incurable. Fissure armor has lost is prestige. It's still nice, but it's not nearly as exclusive as before. If you want it so bad, ebay gold is the answer."[/i] Where does it suggest that I actually buy ebay gold? I find it funny that you dig up some that I posted NINE months ago, AND is on the other wiki. Honor is something you clearly do not understand. And, you clearly did not understand what I was implying with my comments about ecto farming. I should share this with everyone. --8765 08:11, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Your comment on the WoH page is rly stupid tho, I mean what the hell, desert missions who cares. Dark Morphon(contribs) 14:13, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

User:CoRrRan/List of elementalist skills[edit]

I've removed your edit, because I think I fixed {{Skill infobox}}'s categorization. So when the job queue is clear again, it should be ok. *keeps fingers crosssed* -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 12:31, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Thought of the moment[edit]

To those people who played Guild Wars before it was officially released in April of 2005, have you noticed where this game has gone compared to where it started? Did a.net forget its morals and philosophy?. No, they just realised they also need to continue making money. ;-D. It might not be your Utopia, but at least it's still around! Zkeys[edit]

re: Zkeys
'sup. Have about 300 zkeys to sell if you're still desperate to get rid of gold. Sorry for late reply, don't check these wikis much--BlueNovember 20:29, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for defeating your argument. If no one uses it, it should not be listed. I've been fighting that battle over SS since before nightfall. If something is useless or falls out of the meta or for any reason stops being referred to (corpse control, for example), we shouldn't have them listed as redirects, since it clutters up the list and makes it a less useful tool and resource. -Auron 01:27, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Well afaict, you're losing the battle on SS. So what if mind burn isn't used in the meta, it's still used and it's perfectly valid abbreviation to "MB." The wiki is to document factual information, not actively monitor the meta trends. (Btw, corpse control is still listed on CC, among other "useless" information) --8765 01:44, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Eh?[edit]

Assassins = learn to read skill descriptions. That's all you need for attack chains.
So, please explain why Assassins require more experience than Necromacers, Paragons, Monks and Dervishes. --> A F K When Needed 22:22, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

One, it's for pve. Two, 70 armor makes them rather squishy and poor tanks if they refuse to retreat when under pressure. Three, timing your retreat (as well as when you charge in) requires practice, since if the sin is not attacking, they're not much use to the team.
Necros can just spec in 1 of the 3 usual attributes, their skills are fairly straightfoward. Paragons have ridiculous leeway with 80+ armor, and SY! builds are a no brainer. More complicted builds are at your own discretion. Most monks can run any cookie-cutter build, and their typical job is redbar pushing. Dervishes have useful enchants (which also deters enemies from attacking them), or they can just run a perma-avatar build, which is sufficient for most of regular pve. --8765 06:43, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
PvE - I guessed.
70 armor - yes, that's what healers are for. This'll make me sound like a Warrior who has no clue how to play the game, but we're talking about beginners. Beginners will not master a balanced build any time soon. Now, I could be wrong, I gathered that you were rather focusing on them dealing damage, so so am I. They'll get a bunch of attack skills, fill up Dagger Mastery, put the rest in Critical Strikes, and off they'll go. You think this makes them new to the game? Well, yes, of course it does. Why? Well, they havn't mastered the class soon. Umm... duh. They havn't mastered any class yet. But with an Assassin, they can quite quickly learn about attack chains, Factions does explain it to you, and then they'll be as good at being an Assassin than at any other class. Mediocre at damage, no defense. For a beginner, I'd judge that as reasonable.
If you read the Factions manual it specifically says "The Necromancer takes time and discipline to master". Now, if you don't consider an Assassin with a very basic chain a reasonable result of a new player, why is a Necromancer with random Death Magic skills any better?
80+ armor... em... oh... I dunno... Will a Paragon who's playing GW for the first time ever have 60k in Xunlai, get a Consulate Docks run, buy max armor, then go do whatever he wants to? Em... doubt it. "SY!" builds are a no-brainer - I'm sorry, but this is exceptionally flawed. Terrible logic. You need r1 Luxon / Kurzick to even be allowed buy the skill. You're saying a beginner will be r6 Luxon / Kurzick who can instantly guess the best Paragon build in existance? Oh come on now. They will not know the Imbagon build. They will not know about "Save Yourselves!", neither will they be able to buy it. More complicated builds? Well, they'll be using another build, more complicated or not, probably full of Motivation and Spear Mastery.
Yes, but apart from anything else, it'll be a while before the said Monks get an Elite Skill. Then probably longer before they get an Elite Skill that's worth having. Their job is redbar pushing 9/10 times, but that doesn't mean they'll be good at / experienced with it. They'll use the wrong skills at the wrong time, and depending on experience in other games / common sense, they may not even know how to priortise who to heal. So you can't just grab any Monk skills, and say "Ah, I'm sure it'll be grand".
Perma Avatar build? You're taking it for granted that beginners will be experienced MMORPGs which, to me, is a bad idea. For one thing, you talk about beginners but credit them with a lot of knowledge and, again, experience. Will a new Dervish know to cap an Avatar when at Sunspear Sanctuary? Probably - not yes - probably. They invariably get recruited, ask Guildies for help, and it's all people ever talk about in Sunspear Sanctuary. Also, having been enticed by the idea of turning into a God - which got my attention and caused Dervish to be my first shot at the game - they'll probably ask others how to go about this. But Eternal Aura? It's... possible... someone will tell them about it, if not, and it's likely enough nobody will, then there'll be no Perma Avatar for them.
Forgive me, but you seem to have a problem talking about beginners without fully factoring in their lack of experience. --> A F K When Needed 11:31, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
You're going a long way to prove someone's opinion wrong. Besides, this "beginners guide" is not intended for people like you or some random new player to the game. If you really care about trivial matters, that list is just my opinion on which classes are easiest to play as a "new player." The quotations refer to a specific kind of player that's not worth explaining to you. Oh, and write your own guide if you think yours is vastly superior and more accurate. --8765 17:04, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
You're going a long way to being defensive for no reason.
And is that second point meant to imply I'm new to the game as well?
Just because the list is not mine doesn't mean it shouldn't be as good as possible. Consider making a note that you get exceedingly hostile and defensive and take any feedback as a personal insult. --> A F K When Needed 21:13, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
