"Member #1,298 on GGW. I am also confused on why this is here and not just stick with the old Guildwiki. Also confused if this is actually Official or not." Heh, fair enough. Welcome, first of all. Yes, this is an official Wiki, as in, hosted and paid for by ArenaNet, and we get a little help here and there from them too =) The main reason why it's here is due to copyrights - GuildWiki uses the Creative Commons AT-NC-SA License - In English, it means that its content can't be used commercially at all. That's kind of a problem when we're talking about ArenaNet using the content at all =) The main goal, as far as I know, is that this wiki will eventually be incorporated into an in-game help system, and the license restrictions from GuildWiki make that impossible. More importantly, it means that we get to use ArenaNet's server bandwidth, rather than the perpetually-lagged GuildWiki. Anyway, I hope that helps. I can explain in more detail, but I figure that this is probably enough to give you a general idea. Feel free to say something on my talk page if you have any more questions or need help! MisterPepe talk 19:35, 28 March 2007 (EDT)

Ya, I realizaed that once I went to the site and saw the news about it. I have been on Guildwiki for quite a ling time so I should manage by myself here.--Eloc 19:39, 28 March 2007 (EDT)

Welcome

Hello Eloc Jcg, and welcome to the Guild Wars Official Wiki! Here are some recommended guidelines to help you get involved. Please feel free to contact me if you need help with anything. Best of luck and happy editing! Fox 19:59, 28 March 2007 (EDT)

Don't be afraid to edit—anyone can edit almost any page, and we encourage you to be bold! Find something that can be improved, whether content, grammar or formatting, and make it better.

  • We try to follow a common style and format across articles for consistency. When editing, you can generally look at a similar article for an example or consult the formatting guidelines.
  • Other wikis for Guild Wars generally use licenses that are incompatible with ours, and most of their content cannot be used here. See Guild Wars Wiki:Copyrighted content for details.
  • This wiki has its own policies which you might like to check out. Also see Guild Wars Wiki:Article retention for more about what kind of information is retained here.
  • See Guild Wars Wiki:User page for details and guidelines for personalized pages.
  • As a new wiki, we are still missing a lot of articles. If you find a subject that needs an article, you can add some basic information and create it (it doesn't have to be complete!). See the list of wanted pages for pages that are linked to, but have not yet been created.
  • Some articles have only basic information and need to be filled out -- these are known as "stubs". To find and help with these, look through Category:Stubs.
  • To join or start a focused effort on improving specific areas of the wiki, see Guild Wars Wiki:Projects.
  • Some users like to browse pages at random to find articles to improve. Use the "Random page" link in the side navigation box.
  • To keep up-to-date with current wiki activities, see the community portal and Guild Wars Wiki:Discussion.

User templates

Please keep templates like Template:Build Design in your personal userspace, they don't need to be on the main template namespace. Thanks. --Dirigible 04:14, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

builds

You may wish to respond to this Guild_Wars_Wiki_talk:User_page#Weird_Question just though I would give you a heads up that I have started a discussion about it. --Lemming64 17:59, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

LOL, already replied to it before you could post this message here. Recent Changes FTW.--Eloc 18:00, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

Signature

Please read GWW:SIGN. Your signature must include a link to your user or talk page. -- Gem (gem / talk) 19:03, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

Mind showing me where on that page? I read through and only saw a thing saying that Raw Signatures are allowed.--Eloc 19:23, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
Under 'Appearance and color' the first bullet point: "User signatures must have a link to the user page or the user talk page of the user." The raw signature checkbox is used when a user wants to use special formatting, in which case the link must also be in the code of the sig. -- Gem (gem / talk) 19:38, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
Also, your full user name should be visible. I edited the policy page a bit to make these two points even clearer. :) -- Gem (gem / talk) 19:42, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
How is this?--Eloc 19:47, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
It doesn't show your full user name, but otherwies it's ok. -- Gem (gem / talk) 20:40, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
But yours is just a picture of a Gem.--Eloc 20:47, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
Use your eyes. My user name is there just after the image. Now fix your sig and get over it. -- Gem (gem / talk) 04:01, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
Lol, I was j/k. Is my sig ok now? It has a link to it.--Eloc 14:06, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
Quoting myself from above: "Also, your full user name should be visible." Your sig only shows, 'Eloc', not 'Eloc Jcg'. -- Gem (gem / talk) 14:13, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
Then what is the point in even being able to change your "Nickname"?--Eloc Jcg 14:54, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
Allows you to add icons/colours/links to your talk page/contribs/etcetcetc. --Dirigible 14:58, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
But why can't I just have 'Eloc' with a link to my User Page as my Nickname? Heck, I think there is even a sysop here with only part of their name in their signature.--Eloc Jcg 16:11, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
It isn't allowed because it might cause confusion in a few cases (see GuildWiki for some pretty wild examples of bad sigs) and it's impossible to allow to some and to not allow ot for some. I don't think any sysop is breaking the policy, but if one is, could you post me the name. -- Gem (gem / talk) 17:22, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
User:Gares Redstorm. His signature is Gares.--Eloc 22:52, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
I gave him a link to this discussion. If you or any other user wants to change the rules, feel free to discuss it at GuildWarsWiki talk:Sign your comments. I'm not opposed to 'Eloc' or 'Gares' and Isaiah Cartwright want's to use 'Izzy', which would be ok to me, but currently the policy doesn't allow them and I don't see an easy solution. -- Gem (gem / talk) 04:10, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
Isn't Izzy one of the people that made Guild Wars? If so, shouldn't he have the power to overwrite the rules of the Wiki?--Eloc 04:33, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
ANet has declared that they will let us run the wiki, decide on its policies etc. They will only stop us if we are doing something really stupid. -- Gem (gem / talk) 04:38, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned what I consider to be the most important consideration in all of this: What if someone were to register User:Eloc? Then there would be no way to tell when it was Eloc and when it was Eloc Jcg. The same applies to Izzy. LordBiro 05:42, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

Don't worry too much about Izzy, he's already registered the Izzy account ages ago, since before we were even on this wiki. :P --Dirigible 11:37, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
So, I highly doubt anyone will register under the name Eloc. If they do then we can worry about that then, and if they do in the next little while then we will know for sure that they read this and that it's a sockpuppet account.--Eloc 15:56, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
Eloc, as long as the sig policy is what it is now, you will have to follow it. Change your sig now. If you want to propose changes to the policy, do it on the talk page of the policy, but do not break a policy intentionally after you have been told not to. -- Gem (gem / talk) 10:34, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
You said: "we can worry about that then". No we can't. If you've signed hundreds of talk pages and suddenly another user with the user name 'Eloc' will start contributing, it will be painfull to go and change all of the sigs back. If you want to use 'Eloc' in your sig, why don't you create the user 'Eloc' and change to that account instead. -- Gem (gem / talk) 10:37, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
I posted my thoughts here. — Gares 11:16, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

Armor

Please don't add {{armor-stub}} to armor pages, most of them are complete and are just waiting for official render images from ANet. -- Scourge User Scourge Spade.gif 23:02, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

Well they aren't completly finished making them a stub.--Eloc 23:08, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
The 2 you flagged: Dervish_Obsidian_armor and Mesmer_Noble_armor/Male, the Dervish Obsidian armor page is complete 100%, the Mesmer Noble armor Male just needs the pictures, all the formatting is done and ready to go. But I can see where your coming from. It's just best to leave as it is and not worry about stubbing the ones that only need images. There are heaps that havent been created yet: User:BeXoR/Sandbox -- Scourge User Scourge Spade.gif 23:17, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
Ok XD, just trying to help out.--Eloc 23:22, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

Categories

Thanks for helping with the categories! If it's possible, could you also add at least one category (or ideally all the appropriate ones) to each subcategory page? The problem is that a category that doesn't itself belong to some other category gets "lost", it can't be found by browsing the category hierarchy.

What I mean is, for example, with Category:Margonites, they should be part of Category:Demons. If they aren't, then there's no way to navigate to them without searching for it, which breaks the purpose of categories. If you're not sure where something should go, looking at GuildWiki also helps. Let me know if this made any sense or not. Thanks! --Dirigible 17:03, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

Ty ^^, made a little sense. Most of the time I just went through and typed 1-2 words but then saw you redoing em so I started doing them more nicely.--Eloc 22:49, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

Gwen

I think it's safe to say that Gwen is level 20 in GW:EN. Remember, it's all high-level content. If we see her again it won't be at level 1. --Santax 03:31, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

Ah, but that is not necessarily true. I have seen several NPC's at lvl 15-20 areas which they are lvl 2.--Eloc 03:33, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

MEMBER NO#

Ok, how do u know what number member you are?!? ~ KurdKurdsig.png15:09, 10 April 2007 (EDT)

I went here before I registered and looked at the number. Then I registered and saw that it went up by one.--Eloc 18:37, 10 April 2007 (EDT)
Is it the same as your user id on the profile tab of preferences? (you got me curious now!) --SnogratTrigsig.png 19:45, 10 April 2007 (EDT)
Ya, I suppose it is ^^. I never woulda guessed that.--Eloc 20:32, 10 April 2007 (EDT)
Ok tnx :) i'm #34! :p ~ KurdKurdsig.png03:56, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
lol nice. I heard of GWW but never registered until they posted it on the Guild Wars site.--Eloc 05:06, 11 April 2007 (EDT)

GWW:SIGN

You are still breaking the policy. Please correct your signature. You may change it back if the discussion actually changes the policy. -- Gem (gem / talk) 15:25, 10 April 2007 (EDT)

Then what about Gares and please explain to me how to create a proposed policy.--Eloc 18:38, 10 April 2007 (EDT)
Give Gares a link to here for example. You don't need to create a policy proposal for this as it is allready been discussed on the talk page of the polic. Once it gets accepted as a change there, the policy will be changed. -- Gem (gem / talk) 19:06, 10 April 2007 (EDT)
Yes, but keep in mind, Gares said himself, "No one is above the policy".--Eloc 19:34, 10 April 2007 (EDT)
Quote: Give Gares a link to here for example. -- Gem (gem / talk) 06:00, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
Is this a big deal...? LordBiro 07:20, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
I'm on a "virtual vacation", decide to check the site out to make sure no one has destroyed everything :p, and I have a notice that this is still going on. Eloc, I have not posted since the discussion on Guild Wars Wiki talk:Sign your comments#Signature so I have not been signing my name. Gem's change of the wording of the policy found here to reinforce his dispute in this matter when he first brought it to Eloc's attention is rather odd, but I can see it as making the statement more specific. I don't like the timing in which it was done and the purpose for which it seems it was done, however. The addition of one word can mean a huge difference, and in this case it did. I still see no concrete evidence found in the policy to dissuade connecting two account names and using one for your signature, whether you are posting under either account. While it is polite and in good form to comply to Gem's suggestion until a change is finalized when a user is breaking policy, I don't see this as breaking policy as he has both names registered and linked. I'm a reasonable man and I enforce policy quite frequently, but I find this all rather unnecessary. Look for a lengthy response from me on the policy's talk page in the future. — Gares 15:57, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
Gares, you might notice how much I care as I didn't even bother to post on your user page myself. And yeah, I did make that change on the same day, but it was just clarifying what the policy allready meant. If you read the discussions that were held before the policy was accepted, the new wording is exactly what people meant with the policy. I hjust realised the possibility to missread it later on. -- Gem (gem / talk) 17:24, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
Then why doesn't the policy change? I don't think anyone was against it in the discussion over at GWW:SIGN --Eloc 18:28, 11 April 2007 (EDT)

Talk page delete

Hi, it doesn't matter if you where the only contributor to a talk page. In my opinion no talk page should be deleted, as stated in Guild_Wars_Wiki:User_page#User_talk_page_restrictions. - MSorglos 04:15, 13 April 2007 (EDT)

Yes, well I accidently posted there and since the page is not being used, then why keep it? It is just taking up computer space.--Eloc 05:00, 13 April 2007 (EDT)
Seeing as every possible revision is saved, and even deleting the page takes up as much space as if it was on display, that particular point is null. — Skuld 05:08, 13 April 2007 (EDT)
Actually, if it was deleted, then people wouldn't even click on it unless they have an intention of starting the page.--Eloc 05:37, 13 April 2007 (EDT)

The welcome template

I changed your welcome of User talk:The Night Ritual to the Welcome2 template according to the general consensus that the current Welcome template is a little intimidating/makes people feel like they did something wrong rather than a welcome. If you disagree, please go ahead and change it back - I think I kind of overstepped my bounds when I altered it, but I really don't like the Welcome template =P I know you commented on my work at User:MisterPepe/Sandbox where I'm trying to come up with an actually useful new-user's help page (see Template talk:Welcome2, though I think you misunderstood my intentions). On a related (somewhat) topic, I'd like to hear your thoughts on two concepts I have for that page - since you're obviously one of the people welcoming newer users, you're probably a good person to ask about these. Take a look at Template talk:Welcome2. Thanks (and sorry if I overstepped =P) MisterPepe talk 20:35, 22 April 2007 (EDT)

Ok, np.--Eloc 18:17, 23 April 2007 (EDT)

Threat

You cannot ever threaten another member, like you did Glitzwank. In the future, please, try a less abusive approach, than immediately telling them that they will be banned for doing things such as vandalism. The best option, is to place a an adminreview tag on the user, and a delete tag on the vandalism. But you most certainly do not play police, and tell people what will happen. - Drago-Shield-Mini.gif Drago 16:05, 28 April 2007 (EDT)

M'kay. I did put a delete tag on and whenever I put the admin review, it doesn't work. I was only following what I have seen before since this IS a wiki.--Eloc 16:07, 28 April 2007 (EDT)
The adminreview tag was deleted, sorry for the missinformation. But next time, try a friendly reminder, instead of an all out warning. - Drago-Shield-Mini.gif Drago 16:09, 28 April 2007 (EDT)

hey

hey eloc one of my friends just gave me a kick ass deal for a cpu its very good cpu that can play gws easy but the problem with it it needs a better video card the cpu is only 250$ my mom is giving me 100$ towards so i just need to get aobut 150$ and then i need to get bout idk 100$ for a video card and then for like all 3 gws i'm going to need like 150$ but for now i'm getting the 1st on (cant remember name) so i will have to meet u and aaron on that map also i'm getting a gws keyb my mom already got me a monitor and a mouse and stuff like that cool huh.

Ya, awsome. Make sure to put --~~~~ to sign your name.--Eloc 18:41, 1 May 2007 (EDT)

Question

I understand how to get pictures up and everything but when i set it it dosent come up like ur character ppl do can u help? Jimmy R

Sure, I can try to.--Eloc 18:52, 7 May 2007 (EDT)

corel.jpg

I am sure I don't need to remind you on the policy for naming images for use in the user space o.0! --Lemming64 15:25, 14 May 2007 (EDT)

Srry, in a hurry. Just delete it now. I am just cheating the system with h/w.--Eloc 15:27, 14 May 2007 (EDT)

Spellcaster

As you asked so nicely, I won't edit it, BUT... Spellcasters don't form the majority of GW classes (1st paragraph) - as you rightly point out later on, they account for 50%. And profession only has one f :) --SnogratUser Snograt signature.png 18:51, 16 May 2007 (EDT)

Ok ty lol. But 50% is a majority considering there are only 3 classes in Guild Wars: Melee, Ranged and Spellcasters.--Eloc 20:39, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
Hmm, is a glass half full or half empty? hehe --SnogratUser Snograt signature.png 21:06, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
It is still majority. Anything above 33% would be considered majority.--Eloc 21:12, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
Ok, done. Feel free to add anything else you want there.--Eloc 21:12, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
Actually, a 50% is not a majority. The other classes are classified as "Martial" or "attacker" classes. — Rapta (talk|contribs) 22:27, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Little slow there, don't you think?--Eloc 22:29, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Apparantly not, the comment is still on the page. — Rapta (talk|contribs) 22:32, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Posted like half a month later.--Eloc 22:36, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Why do you think that really matters? What matters is that the comment remains there - a false comment as well. — Rapta (talk|contribs) 22:43, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
50% is majority since there is more than 2 partys.--Eloc 22:48, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
No it's not:
Majority; noun, plural -ties; the greater part or number; the number larger than half the total (opposed to minority): the majority of the population. — Rapta (talk|contribs) 23:09, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Guild Image: Dwcape.JPG

The image you recently uploaded (Image:Dwcape.JPG) does not comply with the Guild Wars Wiki image naming policy and has been tagged for deletion. Please feel free to re-upload the image under a correct name. Thanks, -FireFox File:Firefoxav.png 04:35, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Wtf?? Recently my @$$!? I uploaded that well over a month ago.--Eloc 14:01, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
It still needs to be fixed -FireFox File:Firefoxav.png 00:02, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Why do I have to fix it? It's been like that for 2 Months now and no one has complained. If people are so concerned about it, then why don't they change it?--Eloc 00:04, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
The policies of the wiki have changed in the men time and no one has noticed your image. It's not relevant how long the image has been here, you are still required to act acording to policy. -- Gem (gem / talk) 07:24, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Let me put the delete tag on the picture then. I still need to get it onto my computer then save it as a different name here. So please don't delete it.--Eloc 18:37, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
You should save it to your hard drive before tagging it for deletion. Any admin might just delete a tagged image and would probably not be aware of this discussion. -- Gem (gem / talk) 21:03, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Guilds

Please do not edit guilds that people are trying to create on this wiki. Ralelen 22:10, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Lol, I am allowed to add Guild Cleanup tags to it. That is a deadline for you.--Eloc 22:25, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Gold icon on quest pages

Hi Eloc, just a note about changes made to the Troubled Lands quest: there's nothing wrong with a gold icon except none of the other quests are using it since everyone else is following this formatting guide. Feel free to join the discussion if you'd like to change it. - Thulsey Zheng - talk 06:21, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Eloc please stop changing Troubled Lands gold link we have decided on a formatting guide for all quest articles and we chose not to use the icon. Like Thulsey said if you want to make a point about it leave a message on the quest formatting guide talk page. As for now do not change back to the icon. --Sktbrd341 06:27, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Guild pages in a non english language

As far as I know there is no actual rule against these right now. If you take the time to read the various discussions that you yourself have been involved in I think you will find there was no decision to dis-allow them. --Lemming64 09:06, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Yes, but this is an English Wiki, it even says so when you hit F10 ingame. Therefore, it should stay English and they can take the time to go to Google or something and translate their article.--Eloc 09:08, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Whilst it is an English wiki, this has been discussed, and there was no decision to disallow non English guild articles whilst the English wiki is the only option. Also your tone could be taken as quite aggressive if read the wrong way. --Lemming64 09:16, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Ok, well once there is more than one wiki, they're out of here! Lol.--Eloc 19:24, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

User images

If you are tagging user images for deletion, would you mind also notifying the uploader about why they are delete tagged on his/her user talk? I think it's just about being nice to new people, so we don't scare them away :) - anja talk (contribs) 09:26, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

lol, sorry.--Eloc 19:22, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Revert wars

please do not get into a revert war over the cleanup tag on Guild:Shadow Of The Silver Wolves, it would be preferable to get into a discussion with the main contributor and probably resolve the issue in an easier fashion. --Lemming64 23:09, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Have you checked his page? It has nothing on it and he doesn't reply to Messages on his Discussion page. I already informed Gem about this issue though so hopefully no worrys.--Eloc 23:09, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
I understand that, I have personally left messages on both the discussion page and the users talk page. The non response does not justify a revert war. You are right taking it to Gem or another sysop is the correct course to take. --Lemming64 23:11, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Woot! I'm right!--Eloc 23:15, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Re: Admin noticeboard post

Re: your post at Guild Wars Wiki:Admin noticeboard#85.210.31.213; unfortuneately, the wiki admins have no means of reviewing the game logs to verify claims of issues in-game. For those types of issues, it's best to contact ArenaNet directly via the game support page of their website.

On the post by that user in the wiki; thus far, it's just one post. By itself, to me, it's not crossing the line of GWW:NPA. If it continues, then a pattern of harrassment in the wiki can be viewed as bannable - but because I have no way of verifying the in-game issue, all I can base my opinion on is the one isolated post at this point. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 03:47, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Dont use font, try span style="font-familycolor" instead, that solved some problems for others. - anja talk (contribs) 14:18, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
(edit) Use span tags and inside the links, that can change the color of the link. Like this: § Eloc § for example.

Please do not start a revert war and instead explain your edit on the talk page. I'm personally against your edit, so unless you have a good explanation, I'll change it back later on. -- Gem (gem / talk) 05:01, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Take a look at User_talk:Gem#Template_help - it was easier for me do just do it than to explain how =\ MisterPepe talk 05:17, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Tyvm. I just wanted someone to do it for me deep down inside xD.--§ Eloc § 05:20, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
=P I actually made one last change (and copied it over for you) - the "s" in uses only shows up if there's more than one use now. Tell me if there's anything else you need with it ;) MisterPepe talk 05:36, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
What if my build is only one profession?--§ Eloc § 05:38, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Use X for the second profession? It would bring up Unknown. Other option, I could make it so that it would look for "no" in that spot and not show that second icon. Making you not have to put it in isn't really an option as it'd bork the template call (well, maybe having a blank call there would work "||"). MisterPepe talk 05:41, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
I've tried ||. It just makes {{{{}}}}'s. Could you make it somehow that it would work with just ||s or so that I could put |x|?--§ Eloc § 05:44, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Well, |x| now works - see User:Eloc Jcg/Builds/R Fading Life Interupter. MisterPepe talk 05:51, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Ok tyvm. Tell you if I have anymore problems.--§ Eloc § 05:52, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

We like you man, take it easy, we won't mess with you. --- Vandals

Protection template

Please do not use the protected template on your user page as it auto categorises your page to hte protected pages category. Insted, copy the code manually from the template, put it on your user page and remove the category. Thanks. :) -- Gem (gem / talk) 05:39, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

It's mainly annoying because, you know, the page isn't actually protected... MisterPepe talk 04:33, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Bureaucrat

You said in your statement you're nominating yourself for "admin" but bcrats aren't admins, sysops are (in which case you might want to check out GWW:RFA and nominate yourself there instead). You should take a look at the election policy as it has a detailed description of the role of a bcrat there and how they are different from sysops. :) - BeX iawtc 05:57, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Your blanking of User:Prophetic Arrows/Builds Page

It's not a copyright violation - this is the same wiki, with the same license. When you uploaded/created that table, you released it under the GFDL 1.2+. The content is no longer exclusively yours, and anyone is now permitted to use the content as long as they keep a compatible license. Please refrain from tagging that page with the {{copyvio}} tag, as it does not apply and is not the purpose of that template.
If anything, blanking someone else's userpage counts as vandalism. Please refrain from doing so in the future. If you would like another user to remove content, you are of course free to ask them, but doing it yourself (without permission) isn't really okay.
I'm going to remove the copyvio template you just put up on that page, as it's an inappropriate use. If you disagree, please discuss the issue on a talk page or take it up with ArbComm. MisterPepe talk 00:40, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Policy edits

I've reverted your removal of the disambiguation notes in Guild Wars Wiki:Guild pages. Policies, once official, must not be changed with any prior discussion (see GWW:POLICY), excluding any grammar or spelling fixes. -- ab.er.rant sig 03:28, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

But guilds can't have the same name. If they did, then they can't be in the alliance together as it can't invite 2 for 1k and that would f*ck over the entire system...in conclusion - you can't have 2 guilds with the same name.--§ Eloc § 03:43, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Even if that is the case, you still need to make a draft proposal for discussion. Policy can't just be ignored. - BeX iawtc 03:54, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Guilds can have the same name if they are on different servers though. LordBiro 07:28, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
How so? You can have guilds in different "servers" as you call them, in the same Alliance.--§ Eloc § 08:05, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Looks like I was wrong :) Sorry Eloc! LordBiro 17:41, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Np lol.--§ Eloc § 23:53, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

?????

How did you keep your article from being edited???? And BTW they said i could keep the build page if I want to. Plz put your response on my talk page when u get a chance--Prophetic Arrows 11:22, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Technically his user page is not protected from being edited. All he did was create his own warning tag. --Sktbrd341 15:14, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
How do i do that?--Prophetic Arrows 20:29, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Copyright on builds

Eloc you cannot copyright anything on this wiki saying that it's yours, read the copyright disclaimer: "Content provided by individual contributors, which is original and does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party, is available under the GNU Free Documentation License 1.2 (GFDL)" Also whenever you save a page you're also agreeing to release it under the GNU Free Documentation license: "By clicking the save page button below, you agree to license your contribution pursuant to the GNU Free Documentation License (1.2 or any later version) and you represent that your contribution is original and does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party." Could you please remove the notice from the page? -- Scourge User Scourge Spade.gif 01:32, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Naw...it doesn't matter if it's there. I'm allowed to make a table with w/e I want in it pretty much as long as it doesn't violate NPA I suppose.--§ Eloc § 01:35, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
So why make a table saying that they are copyrighted when they are indeed not? -- Scourge User Scourge Spade.gif 01:36, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Why have a spade in your user name?--§ Eloc § 01:36, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
What's that got to do with the topic at hand? If you have an issue with my spade please feel free to raise it on my talk page. -- Scourge User Scourge Spade.gif 01:38, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Dam straight!--§ Eloc § 01:39, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm indifferent on what is said on the page, except for where it causes a copyright violation. I found several of the builds over on PvXwiki.com, and the one or two I checked are word-for-word or are minor variants from that site, and have different authors than yourself who have not released their work under the GFDL - only under the CC by-nc-sa license used by that site and GuildWiki, which is incompatible with here. For those builds copied from there (or copied from a GuildWiki archive of a build), instead of re-creating them here (which is a violation of copyright), you should instead link to the build over on PvXwiki.com. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 02:33, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Well, the builds which I archived from guildwiki which weren't mine, I could delete but I don't think Prophetic Arrows should have the right to take my builds and call them his own.--§ Eloc § 02:53, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Why should you have the right to take other peoples build and call them your own? -- Scourge User Scourge Spade.gif 02:55, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Majority of those are made by me and I never called the others ones my own. Why should you say you invented the spade?--§ Eloc § 02:58, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
You are correct on the other person not having the right to claim them - technically, once posted here, they are available to the entire community to use, provided the "History" tab is kept accurate and remains linked to the article to show attribution history - what's posted is released under the GFDL for anyone to use so long as they abide by the restrictions of the GFDL - technically, they are the community's to use at that point, not fully in your control any longer, but no single other user can claim them either. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 03:01, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
I'll make my own policy which will state that credit must be given if you take anything off of another persons namespace.--§ Eloc § 03:06, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Eloc, please point out where I say I invented the spade... -- Scourge User Scourge Spade.gif 03:04, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Please point out where I said I called other peoples builds my own...--§ Eloc § 03:06, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
When you uploaded them here you either said the content was yours or already released under GFDL. If the content was not released in that manner, you must have been assuming authorship rights. - BeX iawtc 03:08, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
(edit conflict) This build page and all of it's links are the property of Eloc Jcg You're saying that they are your property, you own them. Please enlighten me, where I say I invented the spade. -- Scourge User Scourge Spade.gif 03:10, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
LoL, I fixed that. It just occured to me. You said it in the Bible FYI in the book of Scourge where they scourge the desert of sinners. Hence, the creation of the spade...--§ Eloc § 03:11, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Care to back that up with a source? I backed mine up with one. -- Scourge User Scourge Spade.gif 03:16, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Naw, I'm good, besides, source has only screwed over religion, with source, there is no religion which means I can't use source.--§ Eloc § 03:18, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
So by your own deductions what you've been talking about doesn't exist, so back to the question, where did I say I invented the spade? -- Scourge User Scourge Spade.gif 03:20, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
I dunno, where did you say that?--§ Eloc § 03:21, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

(reset indent) Eloc, The Burden of Proof is on you, not me. You can stop flogging that dead horse right now if you wish. -- Scourge User Scourge Spade.gif 03:29, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I'll find where you invented it one day though...--§ Eloc § 03:31, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Wait I don't get it. I mean, yea I'm fine with giving Eloc credit on the builds i put up on my wiki, but why do i have to?--Prophetic Arrows 20:26, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Technically, the GFDL license that this wiki uses requires attribution (credit) on any content that a user posts. Typically, this is done via the page's history, but pages that are copied/elements that are copied don't have any history of who came up with it in the first place. Most people don't care, but Eloc seems to care quite a lot =\
Anyway, since the builds are still in Eloc's userspace (you just link to them), the only thing that you would need to attribute is the table. Even if you modify it to add your own links/whatever, you still kinda need to do that. Even something as simple as This table concept was completely and shamelessly stolen from Eloc Jcg would work ^^ MisterPepe talk 20:32, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Redundant pages

Hi there. Just wondering why all the redundant pages at User:Eloc Jcg/bbp, User:Prophetic Arrows/Build Page, and User:Prophetic Arrows/Builds Page. As they're all identical, couldn't they just as easilly been created by sharing the same sub-page by all users? I also am confused as to the reason of all the redirects ... why not get them all to point to the right place from the initial article rather than routing via a redirect? --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 02:19, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Well, Prophetic Arrows is stealing my build page and the bbp is just making it easier to edit my build page. Think of the bbp just like collector pages. For example Alton Thorne. It has Alton Thorne/Collector just to make it easier. Another example would be here in which this user did something similar to me in order to make their page easier to edit. As for the redirects, that's something I'm still working on. Leave them as they be until I'm done please.--§ Eloc § 02:24, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
I wasn't stealing them I just wanted to promote the builds for the members in my guild just incase they didn't want to go to your wiki. What ever im fine with giving you credit, it honestly does not matter to me at all.--Prophetic Arrows 20:28, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks man

As we said before, you're awesome. You should run for admin, and RAWK this place. Eloc you are cool man. The only user on here who appreciates our work and for that, we will not wreck your page. We, The Raptor Association Of America, salute you. RA! ---Raptors

Reverting

Please do not re-add the delete tag to User:Prophetic Arrows/Builds Page again. As said before, you released your contributions on GuildWiki to this wiki. As such, it can be used on Guild Wars Wiki and can be used by anyone. — Gares 20:39, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

You didn't even read the reason. It is an orphoned page. No need to keep it. He also has another one, exact same here.--§ Eloc § 20:51, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Zaishen Elite

Saw that you had moved the Zaishen Elite page to Zaishen Elite (Quest), since I have been working really close with the quests I haven't had time to move it to a disamg. Thanks for the help, the only thing that was wrong was that most of the quests that have disamg's they are usually followed by (quest) lowercased at the end. So I moved the page to Zaishen Elite (quest) to follow all the other quests like this. Just thought I would give you a heads up on this. Again thanks for spotting that before I did. --Sktbrd341 23:33, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Ya, I just saw that. I was about to move it then saw that you did that.--§ Eloc § 23:35, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Archive?

Just a suggestion, you might want to archive a little bit of this - it seems to be growing rather huge. o.0 (40 sections, not including this one). :) Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 00:18, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
