I've put my foot down today and designated this morning as my Wiki-Catch-Up time. I'm getting pulled into back to back meetings soon, but at least I got some stuff done :)
I'm gearing up with the rest of the web team to prepare for our quickly approaching trip to England, where we'll meet with folks to discuss plans for our sites. I'm super excited to get there and start discussing some of the things that we've been working on over here. We've been reading your feedback on Gaile's website suggestions page and have been combining those bits with lots more from our own brainstorming sessions, so I'll have a lot of really cool ideas to bounce off of the folks overseas.
I'm not looking forward to the flight. I've never been overseas before, and I get really motion sick on planes if I'm not careful (well, medicated). I think my flight is somewhere around 9 - 10 hours, and my updated itinerary said something about my seating choice not being available. With my luck, I'll end up sandwiched in the middle of a family and end up barfing on someone.
I'm going to have to stock up on PSP and DS games. The last game I beat on DS was Phantom Hourglass, and the last game I was playing for PSP was Silent Hill Origins (and Puzzle Quest, of course). Does anyone have any favorites they'd like to share?
Anyways, I'm going to go gobble down a TV dinner before my meeting in 15 minutes. I'll leave you with this:
- Things I am working on right now:
- Getting new and interesting website content in the works.
- Preparing for this weekend's voyage.
- Some of the things on my to-do list:
- Wiki renders (and getting art back on my laptop so I can work from home). I promise.
- Trying to find a Celestial Rat to buy in-game. I played all weekend to horde over 5 character's worth of fortunes, and I didn't get a ratty. Don't try to give me one, though. I'd appreciate the gesture, but I really prefer to remain incognito on the live servers, buying my stuff for fair market value.
Update: I can't believe I forgot, but HAPPY WIKI ANNIVERSARY!!!!! We hit the one year mark on February 7, but I just realized that today *smacks head* In any case, I'm thrilled to be a part of this community, and I'm looking forward to working with you guys even more as the years go on. You guys all rock!

I archived my talk page today, and realized how long it's been since I've been able to sit down and actually work on the wiki! It's been a crazy few months around here. Instead of updating my talk page's status section constantly, I figured that starting a mini-status update here would be more interesting .
I went to Play! in Seattle last night with a majority of the studio, and it was absolutely amazing. The set list made me want to stay up all night playing games (all of the Final Fantasy series, Chrono Cross/Trigger, Zeldas, etc). I ended up going home, sulking at my broken laptop, and playing Dead Rising instead. When the symphony played the Guild Wars theme, I literally lost my cool and started crying. It was such an incredible experience. If anyone has the chance to see one of these shows by you (I think they are world-wide touring), I highly recommend it. And that's me talking personally :)
Anyways, here are some quick updates for you guys...
- Among the things I'm working on right now are:
- Plans for the current website and working diligently with the team on ideas for the GW2 site. There's LOTS of high energy here, and lots of plans for the future. Although I haven't had time to comment specifically there, know that I'm jotting down and bringing points from Gaile's website suggestion page into various meeting, so keep adding your thoughts there!
- The release of the BMP. Lots of moving part here as far as web is concerned, so we're all working to get everything ready for Monday. I'm personally excited about the release of packs. I got a Tengu Staff and a Charr Staff on my Necro, and I love them. It's cool to know that they'll be available to a lot more folks on Monday.
- Some of the things on my to-do list:
- Renders, renders, renders. I really want to get working on these again, but I can only do them while I'm in the office (mainly due to a broken laptop). I may stay later a few nights over the next few weeks to get some more done, but sometimes it's hard since I stay late for other backed up tasks. Working hours like 10 am - 10 pm (and other odd iterations of that) leaves so little "free" time XD
- Tracking down some of the trivia questions for you. I know that I need to poke some people for answers, so I'll get to those bits as soon as I can.
- Update my characters page. I'm not really sure what layout or information I want to provide, but I'll try to at least get screens up soon.
