Skill trivia
There are some comments made (example) about the skill Holy Haste as being a reference to Heal Bot (more specifically this cartoon). Is this the case? (This question is spawned from your comment here.) Currently the Holy Haste page on this wiki does not mention it, but GuildWiki does. -- (CoRrRan / talk) 05:53, 23 May 2007 (EDT)
- I'm not sure about that one personally. I'll do some checking up on it and get back to you. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 14:26, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
"There's Nothing to Fear!"
There are doubts as to this new skill's inspiration. Personally, I am of the belief that is in relation to Moby Dick while others say it may be related to Roosevelt's address including the words: "There's nothing to fear, but fear itself!" and still others say it's in reference to nothing at all. If you get a free moment to ask someone can you verify where the inspiration for this skill came from? Thank you. --File:VallenIconwhitesmall.JPG Vallen Frostweaver 14:39, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- Heya Valen! I've confirmed that this name is taken from the above mentioned Roosevelt quote. Nice guess, though. I'm a big Melville fan too. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 17:55, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well it was worth a shot. Oh well. Call me Ishmael I guess. --File:VallenIconwhitesmall.JPG Vallen Frostweaver 18:28, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
"Shield's Up!" Trivia
Hey Emily, I was wondering of the shout "Shield's Up!" was a reference to Star Trek (the captains saying "shield's up" before entering battle, etc.). Could you clarify? Thanks in advance :) -Auron 21:41, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hiya Auron! Yes, this reference is from Star Trek :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 17:49, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
The Crag
User:Wongba writes that The Crag has been a 6v6 relic run map in one of the BWEs. I believe I've read somewhere that you haven't been with the GW-team that long, but perhaps you can ask someone who might be able to confirm this? I can't recall The Crag having anything to do with relics, but I wasn't present in every aspect of the BWEs. -- (CoRrRan / talk) 22:04, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- Heya Corran! I checked on that for you and confirmed that yes, this was one of the relic maps during the world event. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 23:37, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- From what we remember, it was the WPE. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 19:39, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Imperial Guardsman Linro Trivia
Hey there Emily, was wondering if this guy was a reference to Warhammer 40k? Imperial Guardsman is a status in W40K, and he talks of "The Emperor" not "the Emperor" like they do in W40K? DarkNecrid 10:07, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- I think Imperial Guardsman has more to do with being a guard (man) of the Empire (hence imperial) of Cantha. Indeed an empire, even the Canthan one, has an Emperor that the guards talk about. ;) As for the capitalization, it might just be coincidence. Counciler 10:58, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- The Designer who is the lead for festivals and events is a long time Warhammer 40k player and avid fan (there were jokes up on a white board somewhere around here about Orks being a new playable race and painting them red makes them go "fasta!"). So I wouldn't discount the possibility... - Linsey Murdock 23:16, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- If that is the reason the Canthan military (or at least a branch of it) is called the Imperial Guard, the trivia doesn't really belong in a Canthan military or Imperial Guard article rather than the Imperial Guardsman Linro article, since there are numerous NPCs with Imperial Guardsman in their names. -- Gordon Ecker 23:22, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- I very much doubt that we have an Empire and an Imperial Guard as a reference to W40k :P. If anything it could be mentioned on Linro's page itself but I would not call it overall trivia for Factions, the Empire or the Imperial Guard. I was saying that this particular guy could possibly be a reference, but unfortunately the designer in question is out of the officer for a week so I can't confirm or deny definitively. - Linsey Murdock 00:21, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

(ri)Does his dialogue actually say "The Emperor"? Because on his page the t isnt capitalized. - BeX 03:13, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Xunlai Glowing Chest Trivia
Hey Emily! I was wondering if this little easter egg would ever be explained. :) Thanks! --Ravious 00:05, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Where is there a glowing Xunlai chest? - Linsey Murdock 00:22, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Kaineng Center, its near the south of the area and is behind a gate tucked away in what looks to be a storage room. --Ravious 00:25, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Also, if you are close to the gate, facing it, and you press "z", your camera flips around and you can see from inside the room... from the inside there appears to be a giant dragon seal of some sort that isn't visible from the other side. --Santax (talk · contribs) 06:54, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not really sure if this is an easter egg or just something that was placed into the map. I'll do some more research, but I don't believe that the chest was intentionally included as part of anything. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 20:25, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah seeing some stuff from Linsey's Talk page makes me think the mappers add a lot of cool, but non-utilized stuff. Still, I wonder if this mapper (team of) decided that this was like the central server for the Xunlai or something. Maybe that is why they are incorruptible. Everything goes through the Glowing Chest Server (tm), and if you enter the room you are randomly eaten by the dragon on the wall come to life. :D --Ravious 21:29, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- I think that chest is the one containing Goren's Saltspray Dragon Egg, XD. That would explain it all. XD. MithranArkanere 22:21, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- The glowing Xunlai chest is in the "Xunlai headquarters", and is supposed to be the magical chest that really holds everything that people store with the Xunlai. I was the designer who spawned the NPC's in Kaineng Center, and while I was doing it, I was informed that this section of the town had been designed with that in mind. Andrew McLeod (Freyas) - ArenaNet creature designer 09:35, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Wo that really is cool, I had never seen the seal before. Image:Xunlaihq.jpg, I wonder if it should be included on the Xunlai article. --Lemming64 12:19, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

[reset indent] Cool. I was pretty close. Thanks Emily and Andrew! Okay, I have one more for you: Are we going to find out, ever, what the Watchtower Coast was "watching?" --Ravious 18:54, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- There are a lot more of mysteries! What is the Wizard's Tower in Kessexs peaks for? Where does the gate Rotscale guards leads to? Why are the dragon bones you may find in many maps much larger that Glint, who is supposed to be the oldest dragon? And the most important one: Remember those compass roses you may find in the ground many locations? Yeah, like Lion's Arch, Ascalon City, The Black Curtain... even there is one in Arborstone... What are they for? Are they related to teleporters or something? Will we see the tunnel the dredge made from Sorrow's Furnace to Echovald? And being able to use it? Will we ever gain access to the remains of Orr? Where do the Mursaat came from? And the Seers? And what do Titans really are? Where do they really come from or how are they created? Where does the Nort-Easter door in the Barbarous Shore lead to? What are Preserved Red Iris Flowers, Small Girl's Cape, Brokekn Flute and Tattered Girl's Cape for? And the Zehtukah Stuff (Horn, Jugm, Pack and Shortbow?)? ... I could keep like this forever, they are endless... MithranArkanere 15:44, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- Compass roses? - BeX 17:38, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- The 8-point star in side a circle inscribed in stone. I've just considered them a generic element of the landscape, but you never know. --Valshia 18:04, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- I wonder if we made an "unanswered questions" page if the devs might come in from time to time and answer a few of them instead of filling up the talk pages. Someone on the forums today also mentioned the UFO cave near the IDS. --Ravious 21:38, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- I think that this would be a really good idea. If you do this, let me know where the page is and I'll make sure that the link gets around to people here. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 21:58, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- Any word so far on this supposed section? Counciler 23:56, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- There is nothing stopping you creating it :) I would do it but I am a little busy, so can't do it for a day or two. I like the idea though. --Lemming64 00:02, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- OH, I though the compass roses where just decoration, but then I saw then under the Teleporter in Ruins of Surmia, and another separate one in Arborstone, in a suspiciously separate area, like a 'teleporting room', well... those things could be asura-made. By the way, In which namespace should that section be? MithranArkanere 14:36, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I've added ton and a half of questions there (Sorry about that, :P) I know some questions can't be answered, but I made some of them in part to give ideas about possible new quests or Bonus missions. Currently I can't remember more, but they will be coming, since we are making a 'find the place' contest in my clan and I'm taking pictures around the world of very interesting places so other embers look at them and find them worldwide. And there are a lot of such places! Maps have so many interesting spots... Cartographer is the most interesting title around! MithranArkanere 00:02, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

NPC models
I started doing my research into a correlation between service and models but so far it all seems kind of random. In case you don't recall, we decided it would be a good idea to look into this before deciding the names of models so that we could consolidate the images. So far my research really hasn't helped at all, so I was wondering if you could offer some Anet intel on naming schemes. For instance if you look at my page there, some of the models have tattered post-Searing clothing, and some don't (it looks like Ellie is the post-Searing version of Calissa). Are the names something like Ascalon-female-01 or more descriptive? I'm really at a loss! - BeX 13:58, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Just as a note, I noticed the same thing when I was originally going through and creating all the Prophecies collectors for GuildWiki. Usually if a collector was in both Pre- and Post-Searing Ascalon the Post-Searing version would have the same costume as the Pre-Searing one, but it would be in tatters. --Rainith 16:14, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, as you guys notice, there are a set number of NPC models that can be used in a wide variety of places throughout the game. I'm not really sure what the best way to track this down would be, although I'm pretty sure that the easiest thing will be for me to go in and actually do searches by model names, cross-referencing the data from there to figure out what NPCs use what models. I'm sure that this will be relatively involved, but it's something that I can definitely do. I haven't been around on the wiki for the past week or so because it's been extremely busy around the studio, but I should (hopefully) have some time in the near future to do some work on this for you.
- What I would do for now would be to use that great page you linked me to and figure out wiki names for the known models. A lot of times, our model names have internal names that really wouldn't make sense to use on the wiki, so it would be better to just name them something that works here. I'd say that you can go as broad as naming them by campaign m/f or as detailed as naming them by region m/f (if they are recognizable to an area). It's really up to you guys. I can then go in model by model and try to pull out what NPCs use each one. I can then provide a list of names for each that we can use to figure out what NPC shot should be used on each page. This will probably help us to get pages up for minor role NPCs that may get missed.
- It will be pretty involved, but may not be as difficult as we'd think (I hope, at least) When I get some free time today, I'll take a look at it for you. I'm getting antsy being away from the wiki, so jumping back into a project here will do wonders for my stress :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 17:15, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- If you could edit that page with an example of the information you want I can start getting you some data. - BeX 02:18, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hey Bex, I made a start on the nightfall NPC's, will continue the project over the weekend, I like the idea of collating the data and coming up with some sort of generic names for these npc's: User:Lemming64/NPC models/Nightfall. Feel free to include it on your project page and edit it as well if you like :) --Lemming64 18:15, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for getting involved! I've moved my pages to here Guild Wars Wiki:Projects/NPC models but I copied your page cause I wasn't sure if you wanted to keep it or not. :) Discussion over there in a sec. - BeX 04:33, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

- Cool Bex, that is fine. I have deleted my page as no need to keep the duplicate. Emily we have also started creating some generic names that we believe fit based on certain generic NPC's like Kournan Peasant that already exist for certain models. Would be interesting to see if they correlate with what you guys have on record :) --Lemming64 22:52, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- If you have time to add another column with "ArenaNet filenames" or something, that would be cool. Otherwise just make a huge article, dump the names on them + links to pictures if possible and then we can sort through it. - BeX 02:23, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

- What I'll probably end up doing will be to track down the models based on your chart, and then try to sort out the NPCs that are using that particular model. I'm not going to be able to provide any information about the internal files, nor can I really do a full dump of internal information onto the wiki, but I should be able to at least provide a list of names. I'll try to get this information as soon as possible, but I'm not sure how fast I'll be able to get it to you guys. I've been extremely busy lately, so it's been difficult for me to get work done on my side projects. I definitely have it on my sticky plate, but it keeps getting pushed back because of other stuff. I promise I won't forget, though :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 17:25, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Take your time, we dont have a deadline. :P And there's plenty more for us to do anyway. :) - BeX 03:33, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
NPC last names
Emily, acc. to Alesia@GuildWiki, Alesia was formerly known as Alesia Baptiste ingame. Can you confirm this? Ab.er.rant thinks this might have been during the beta's.
Can you perhaps also shed a light on why some henchmen/heroes DO get a last name (Tahlkora Zarranu) and others don't? Is that by luck of the draw? -- (CoRrRan / talk) 18:15, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, the henches were called Alesia Baptiste, Stefan Braunch, Reyna Sandor and Orion Elek. --Santax (talk · contribs) 18:17, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- I believe that most of that has to do with preference of the writers, but I can check and see if there are any other reasons. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 21:59, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Dupek is Polish?
Hi Emily, need a little trivia help here with Dupek the Mighty, It seems that Dupek is a bad word in polish. So i wondered if you could find out if its based on the polish word or that its a coincidence ~ Kurd 20:25, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- This is purely coincidence. We generally look at a lot of places for inspiration for naming creatures and bosses, but we never intentionally name them something offensive in any language. - Andrew McLeod - Creature Designer
Goren is married!?
Thought you might appreciate my theory. Tell me if it's right :P. User:Eloc Jcg#Goren_is_Married.21.3F--§ Eloc § 07:01, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Was that a Joke or something? Goren and Timera probably never met. And the egg can't be stored in the vault because it's too dangerous, maybe the power of the egg, or maybe the Xunlai central being in danger of attacks of Saltspray dragons. And I'm sure he'll rather go with Margrid, since he's her type: Not very bright, but obedient and with good instinct, XD. MithranArkanere 14:42, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Trivia check - bosses named after PvPers
I feel like I have to ask this on behalf on guildwiki's trivia sections... were Major Jeahr, Colonel Custo, Corporal Luluh, and Ensign Charehli really named after their respective famous PvPers (JR, custo of QQ, lulu the monk, and iQ's ensign)? -Auron 09:15, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Skuld was pretty sure of it, so I suppose it was mentioned in some forums. -- ab.er.rant 14:06, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sure of it as well, but I want to be able to point to official word on it instead of saying "duh" every time :P -Auron 14:17, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, the ones that you've listed are correct. And yes, many bosses and NPCs are named after community members, testers, and other people that we know. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 00:22, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Bendah - Trivia
Futurama? :) --Lemming 19:03, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Lemming! I checked on this one, and nope, I don't believe it was originally intended to be a Futurama reference. Jeff mentioned that the name was, at one point, Benda. He put the "h" on the end of it to make it sound more Elonian. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 18:05, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

"Statue" of Abaddon
In the Gate of Madness mission, there's a plaque which reads "Statue of Abaddon", however the platform behind the plack is empty. Is the statue supposed to be missing, or is this a bug? -- Gordon Ecker 04:05, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- This is actually intentional and not a bug. This statue was actually destroyed when Abaddon was cast into torment (before the temple of the gods got pulled down there with him). -- Emily Diehl (talk) 18:06, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
"Finish Him!"
Hi emily, this is probably the most stupid question i am ever going to ask but is the the skill "Finish Him!" a reference to anything(doubt it)? ~ Kurd 19:57, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- I believe that's in reference to the game Mortal Combat when after you've beaten the enemy you are offered the chance to do a "cool" move. Concerned User 1337000 23:06, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- I suspect that "You Will Die!" is also a Mortal Kombat reference, and that Magni the Bison is named after M Bison. -- Gordon Ecker 23:27, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Were getting even more suggestions like "Dodge This!" being reference to matrix :S ~ Kurd 10:50, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- In one of the latest interviews about GW:EN, it was mentioned that many of the skills for the fighting mini games (and many other things as well) are a nod to the old fighting games. So I guess it's a given how those names have been inspired on Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and so on (my favourite is still Marvel vs Capcom, though :D). Erasculio 12:56, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Were getting even more suggestions like "Dodge This!" being reference to matrix :S ~ Kurd 10:50, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- If its not too much work could you check all these at once, i want to get rid of this trivia debate all at once:
- "Dodge This!"
- "Finish Him!"
- "I Am The Strongest!"
- "I am unstoppable!"
- "You Are All Weaklings!"
- "You Move Like a Dwarf!"
- ~ Kurd 19:18, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Mgod, leave her be, whats wrong with a statement along the lines of "this could be a referance to" as long as a majority seemed agree. So far i see 1 person against it. If you dont think they use "Easter Eggs" just look into the history of Headbutt--Midnight08 01:57, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm still removing all the trivia if she says it isn't a reference ~ Kurd 12:13, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- I agree to remove if she says its not, but if she doesn't say so ( or if she says nothing) then keep it. ATM you're just removing it at your own whim, despite others feeling that the references should be there. Without any good reasoning for removing it. --Midnight08 14:39, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter how people feel about it, a Wiki is not a democracy, we write facts, not what people want to see. ~ Kurd 16:51, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Just so you know, this is not wikipedia, so their policy means little here, until the admins establish that as policy, it isnt. Also, if you read it it says Its primary method of determining consensus is discussion, not voting. You made the changes WITHOUT discussion, and DESPITE discussion stating they should be there. - I was talking about your comment, you said "despite others feeling that the references should be there", The references shouldn't be there if it isn't a reference to anything, so it doesn't matter how people feel about it ~ Kurd 20:17, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Though since you had no proof they weren't references, anyone who feels that the trivia should be there has just as much a claim to including it as you have to removing it. - HeWhoIsPale 20:24, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

- It doesn't matter how people feel about it, a Wiki is not a democracy, we write facts, not what people want to see. ~ Kurd 16:51, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm still removing all the trivia if she says it isn't a reference ~ Kurd 12:13, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- I suspect that "You Will Die!" is also a Mortal Kombat reference, and that Magni the Bison is named after M Bison. -- Gordon Ecker 23:27, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
(reset indent) Hi guys! Here are some answers for you about these references:

Trivia
Could you find out a definitive answer on the trivia this NPC: Alana Pekpek. I seriously doubt it was intentional because it's very rude in Tagalog. :P - BeX 06:37, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- There's also Edibbo Pekpek. -- Gordon Ecker 07:00, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

- This definitely was not intentional, and is an unfortunate part of trying to create unique names for a global game. One thing I think we should steer away from, however, is putting the dirty reference comment on that page under the trivia section. I'm not sure that it does anything to intentionally call out something of this nature, especially when it was confirmed that it was not intentional. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 18:16, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Trivia Check - Avarr the Fallen
Named after GWG mod and badass mesmer Avarre of [WASD]? -Auron 10:55, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- I think it was already confirmed Auron. - File:Drago-sig.gif Drago 18:53, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- ^^ That comment is worthless without links! :-) (Or in other words, can you point to the confirmation?)-- (CoRrRan / talk) 18:54, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Avarr the Fallen. :)(Oh! A skeptic changed it. =\) -File:Drago-sig.gif Drago 18:56, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- There was only a link to Avarre's member page on Guru on that page. That's no official confirmation Drago. -- (CoRrRan / talk) 19:03, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah... I asked for confirmation because it was removed. Even though I firmly believe it's true... others don't. So, I ask Emily :) -Auron 02:16, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hi guys! No, this boss wasn't intentionally named after anyone (although it's a very cool coincidence:))-- Emily Diehl (talk) 18:23, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Trivia Check
Hero's Handbook and Master Dungeon Guide. Seems pretty likely to me, but could you confirm so we can make the text less wishy-washy? Thanks as always. - Tanetris 03:37, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- I think it's more like "most assuredly" than "pretty likely" :D -- ab.er.rant 01:08, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, these references are correct! -- Emily Diehl (talk) 18:09, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
I figure the Vloxen Excavations and the quest Dredging the Depths have some references (probably more than I spotted; some of the quotes from the Stone Summit sounded awfully familiar, too) to the Indiana Jones movies, Raiders of the Lost Ark in particular. Is that a hit or a miss? :D --84-175 (talk) 07:00, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, the guys that did these areas are big Indie fans, so your assumed references are correct :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 19:16, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
The quest name Then and Now, Here and There is very similar to the english title of the anime series "Ima, soko ni iru boku", Now and Then, Here and There. But this strikes me a little too random for an intended reference. Coincidence? --84-175 (talk) 07:27, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- You know, given how the quest was written by John Stumme, who claims "Obscure references" as his speciality and who claims to like anime...I think it's more a cool reference than a coincidence : D Erasculio 03:44, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, that's a confirmed reference. John's a big anime fan, and he throws a lot of various references into things he writes. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 18:01, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
A bit of a stretch on this one. Shing Jea Sherman's quote for the Lightbringer title track, reference to the song The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades? - Tanetris 22:49, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- As a matter of fact, yes, this is a reference to this song. Bobby Stein wrote him, and he mentioned that he peppered his dialogue with bunches of obscure references. So, congrats for getting one :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 16:43, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
For the dungeon Arachni's Haunt, the quest Scrambled Reinforcements has references to the first Aliens movie? -- (CoRrRan / talk) 17:01, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- That would actually be the second movie of the series (1st movie: "Alien", 2nd: "Aliens", 3rd "Alien3", 4th: "Alien Ressurrection"). :) --84-175 (talk) 15:46, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, these are among the several Alien(s) references that have been placed into the game :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 18:18, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
This isn't so much of a "check" as a curiosity.... which of the designers is a Tom Clancy fan? (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 20:03, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- I believe that that was James. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 16:34, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Does Crystal Method refer to the elecronica band of the same name or rather the drug? --84-175 (talk) 17:03, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- This would, of course, be a reference to the band. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 16:34, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
The smell of Titan in the Morning, I'm guessing that's a reference to Apocalypse Now. Morgoth Bauglyr 00:34, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- You have guessed... wisely. John Stumme 02:52, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Trivia check
I'm absolutely not sue about this one, but the Chromatic Drakes remid me of good ol' Chromium dragon from Magic: The Gathering. --84-175 (talk) 11:29, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- The concept of a dragon's color relating to the magic they use dates back to 'ole D&D, and Moria featured Multi-colored Dragons.
- The drakes aren't intended to be references to any specific dragon, but they do occasionally have ties to the general naming conventions that nerds like us grew up with :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 01:21, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- Speaking of old computer games, could the Siege Devourers be an homage to the Scorpion Tank in the classic Wasteland? --Valshia 17:52, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- This parallel wasn't intended, but we all agree that it's a cool thought nonetheless :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 01:21, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
