Absolutely random question
Is this bash.org quote involving you? —Tanaric 13:01, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- That is a random question and this is a unimportant and uninformative edit by me :P. Fitting domain name for the content I read. Goes to show childish comments always have their consequences. — Gares 13:39, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Minipets
Congrats on all the rare minipets haha. Giangn626 22:48, 19 April 2007 (EDT)
- Well, thanks, but I'm far from a notable collector. I have many (not all) of the commons, but I still have a long way to go on the rares and unique, I think. Thanks for the kind words, though. I check my chars regularly for b'day gifts, and who knows? Someday I might strike the jackpot with more of the special ones. (To tell the truth, were it not for the kindness of wiki friends, I would be missing a few I consider absolutely critical to my collection. I think of those players' generosity each time I bring out the mini. :) --Gaile 00:12, 25 April 2007 (EDT)
- My associate, Shawn, sold me his Gwen miniature last week. She's absolutely adorable and I'm really happy to have her. Happy, too, that Shawn cut me a deal, because there's no way I had the wherewithall to pay full market price! Next on my try-to-get-one list: Djinn, Fire Imp, Mandragor, Lich, and possibly even (don't tell Froggie!) the miniature Heket. --Gaile 18:51, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
GGE?
Have you considered getting a developer account at Great Games Experiment? It's a service dedicated to getting gamers and developers connected. You can get kudos, etc. --Chiaro 20:07, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Purple Smartie Shrine?
Gaile, would you be able to provide pictures of this mystical smartie shrine? It says you have one here here. Thanks :D -- Scourge 23:23, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- The Shrine of the Purple Smartie is a mystical edifice, the viewing of which is restricted solely to those who have paid proper obeisance to all the requisite Deities of Chocolateness and Demi-Gods of Confections. I am afraid that placing an image of the shrine on the GWW might pose a danger to the uninitiated.
- Or something like that. :) --Gaile 03:37, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- I believe that is what one could call a truly epic cop-out, Gaile. :P (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 03:41, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- -gasp- Don't test the wrath of the Deities of Chocolateness and Demi-Gods of Confections, Aiiane. They're fierce when provoked. --Nkuvu 03:44, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Don't worry, I have my sponsorship among the Makers of Caramel. (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 03:50, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- This is good news. However, keep in mind with any impulse to think otherwise, death by hot fudge scalding and the ancient and arcane ritual of Crippling Confection should never be underestimated! ;p --Gaile 03:53, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- I think it would be fair to remove that bit. It's really odd. And I was sooo tired, when I put that there after our conversation Gaile... Buuuuttt...Lemi beat me to it. He's a wiki jedi. :P - File:Drago-sig.gif Drago 03:55, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Remove what part, Drago? I don't see you in this article. Anyway, I'm ok with this -- it's a personal discussion page and if someone misses the fact that I'm joking, there's no hope for the GWW membership. :) --Gaile 04:01, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

- Humph! So the super-secret revelation was removed afterwards? Meaning there's no current reference to the Shine of the Purple Smartie? I see!
- I suggest we may have a cover-up of epic proportions! --Gaile 04:11, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Looks like I'm going to have to break into your office Gaile, I sense an Indiana Jones moment ahead of me lol -- Scourge 04:03, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm... if we're in the business of covering things up, might I propose that the things be strawberries, and the covering be chocolate? (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 04:12, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Only if it's dark chocolate, preferably Swiss, Belgian, Godiva, or Cadbury's Bournville, one of the little-known crown jewels of Britain. ;) --Gaile 04:15, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm preferential to milk chocolate myself, but I see no reason why we can't have both! Let the chocolating commence! (Not that that's a word, but hey...) (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 04:21, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Milk chocolate is just the first step you'll have to take on the path to being a loyal follower of the Deities of Chocolateness. After you have understood the purpose of chocolate in general and milk chocolate is not enough for you anymore, you will move to dark chocolate, taking on higher and higher concentrations of cocoa (90%+) until you will reach an enlightened state and become a loyal follower of the Deities of Chocolateness for the rest of your life. -- (gem / talk) 05:15, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Mmm Bournville is nice you are right Gaile. As for a coverup I don't know what you guys are talking about, it went nicely into my file labelled "Smartiegate". So everything will be fine! :) --Lemming64 12:00, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm going to have to unwatch this page. Now I want chocolate. D:!!! - BeX 03:51, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

:D!
My DAW skill pins arrived today and whee I have your autograph now. ^_^ Many thanks! - BeX 06:14, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- Glad that you received your prize, and I hope you'll wear those skill pins with pride. I'm thinking, you know, weddings, formal events, meetings with the PM, that sort of thing. I mean, they're striking "fashion accoutrement" for any special occasions. :) --Gaile 18:08, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- Gotta say thanks for my skillpins too ;) i got 2 ranger ones :P too bad it wasn't Ele ones (my main profession) but i like them anyway :D -ArcticWind 20:52, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- My boyfriend claimed the Aura of the Lich one as soon as he saw it. I let him keep it as a birthday present. :) - BeX 06:28, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
- In a few days, we'll be posting a page with this year's skill pins. These are the ones selected by War Machine after the Factions World Championship last August. I think you'll like the pins! (Although I can tell you I'm going to work personally on bribing the next "pin choosers" to select Charm Animal -- George and Guilda demand an animal pin!) Anyway, we're going to have a goodly supply of the new pins for Community to use for contests and other projects, meaning there will be a means to get them to players all around the world. It's very cool to think of people in Utah and Uganda, Canada and Cape Town, and Shanghai and Shrewsbury and Sao Paulo collecting our pins. :) --Gaile 18:48, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Appreciation
Hey Gaile, just passed by to say how much I appreciate your presence in game and outside. Being such a well known person might sound great to most people, but I'm sure it can get very stressy as well. I don't wanna know how many emails you get daily with questions you have answered loads of times before.. But I'm sure all the good things make up for those stressy moments =). Anyway, I'm glad I started playing this game 2 years ago and can't wait for the release of GW:EN and GW2. You do a marvelous job interacting between Arenanet and all the players! Keep up the good work and give the A'net team a big cheer from me! Hope some day I will be able to sneak into A'net's offices coz from the DVD I saw (CE-NF) they sure look like a great bunch of people to work with! grtz Tribina 18:07, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- I completely agree with Tribana. Gaile, i have been gaming for as long as i can remember and not once have i encountered any sort of community relations manager, let alone one who communicated with the player-base. I cannot believe people would have the audacity to criticize you personally, and i would like to apologize for the lot of them. Please, just keep in mind that for every loud-mouthed brat on guru there are many more quietly content players perfectly satisfied with Guild Wars. Kypp Duron 06:20, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- I totally agree with that Kypp. Together my boyfriend and I have over a half dozen accounts, more than half of them with all three campaigns added. I looove miniatures and I think the new ones are great. I am still very happy with the game and find it enjoyable and I definitely plan on buying Eye of the North and a couple more character slots. Kougar's opinion of the game and Gaile are just subjective and I'm sure Gaile doesn't take them to heart, nor should she. - BeX 07:31, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Really appreciate the kind words, guys. It's great to read a cheery message amongst the few, but noisy, not-so-positive types. :) --Gaile 07:45, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed, Gaile has got to be the first PR Manager who was actually PUBLIC with the general fanbase on their own turf. WE've all seen PRMs hold press conferences and go to E3 and such, but its rare that there is a direct representative of a Developer posting on a fansite. I must say I am impressed by your courage to post in such dangerous areas, even if it is your job. I wouldn't do it.... I'd be near homicidal by first weeks end, haha! (Just a joke, of course.) Counciler 09:39, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Glad you all agree she does a hell of a good job, a while ago while I was still a Staff Member of Gameamp fansite, I dedicated a post to Gaile, which brings some different aspects to light then most fansites did:Gaile_on_Gameamp. Don't know if she ever read it though, nor if she remembers me, because she interacts with so many people, but I try to keep track of what she has to say when she comes online =). /cheer for the fans of Gaile ^^ Tribina 11:34, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Aww, Trib, I forgot that thread. That's a fun thread, and I appreciated you making it. Well, "fun" except for the horrible photographs, of course. ;) But oh well, what can I do? The last fairly ok photo of me that was when I was six. :D --Gaile 17:52, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- It's not as hard as you would think. I have 4 accounts myself and the leader of the LaZy Nation, where my most experienced officers left for after I disbanded my guild, has 8 accounts, one for each guild he is leader of.
- And yes, I am glad that there are some people out there in the community that realizes how special Gaile is and how essential she is as a bridge between the Guild Wars community and the ANet staff. Even though I know she is beating her head on the keyboard at times. :P — Gares 12:37, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi Gaile
Just wanted to say hi to the only GW Staff member I've talked to in game (not in any detail or for any length of time that you'd remember). All your visits in Kamadan/Others that I've been around for have been very enjoyable. Thanks for making GW a very unique experience from most other MMORPGSs (where the entire staff often seems very detached from the community), it keeps everything much more interesting. Kami No Kei 22:35, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, there, Kami. It's nice to hear from you, and thanks a bunch for your kind words! --Gaile 19:46, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Pat on the Back
Just wanted to say thanks for your CR actions. I wrote in a post somewhere that I think I know why there was a lashing out. People who don't care don't lash out. People with heart and stakes in what they are proud of occasionally do. I know a year or so ago I ripped apart a post of yours that I felt was "unprofessional." I am sorry for doing that. Its rough waves that you surf. Just know that for every d-bag that posts a comment, there are 10 grateful customers that just read, smile, and nod. It is hard to remember sometimes. I really wish there was a private forum (not the alpha test forum) which was invite only, but dealt with only disclosed GW information. I get sick of even trying to respond in many threads because of all the conjecture and baselessly communicated opinion. There is so much more to say but I don't want to load your talk page with so much more spam. Hope you have a great weekend! --Ravious 20:27, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, Ravious. I read this and I sure appreciate the thoughts, I just forgot to respond on Friday. (Actually I had a good weekend. Got new stereo system, which since my old one was sort of... vintage ;) was a good thing.) Thanks again for your note -- I particularly appreciate hearing that you've changed what you may have felt or believed a while back to a more positive opinion of what I do. It was nice to hear from you. --Gaile 07:54, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm totally one of those people who just smiles and nods. Just thought I'd throw that in there. --Penumbra[1] 05:49, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
