It was fun making guesses on the 3rd Year Birthday presents. Folks have suggested we do it again, and hey, I'm in a wiki-page-making mood, so why not? If someone else has already started such a page, I'm more than happy to defer (and we could merge this material, too, if desired). But I don't see a page, and I love predictions!

Tonics -- What's Coming?

Gender change tonics are harder to implement than you think. That update changed the way the client program loaded character models. When the client wanted to know if a character was male or female, it would be told the opposite, and would load the corresponding model. Applying a gender change to a single character would be a nightmare to code, but is technically possible.

I believe Regina has already stated that the july tonic is scheduled for the second update in the month which is the week after the dragon festival...due to well the dragon festival. Wait til the next update and it should be implemented then --Stu 12:08, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Gaile's Predictions

I don't have a clue about September. Charr? Mursaat? Both would be super popular, I know. Looking towards the rest of the year, there are some pretty significant holidays coming up, and the designers may want to tip the hat to those.

• October -- going with the concept of a seasonally-inspired beverage, maybe we'll see a MKT tonic or some undead-ish looking character or creature. (Last night someone mentioned Bone Dragon tonic -- now there is a great idea!)
• November -- well, if we had a turkey-like creature, I know the folks in the US would appreciate a little humour through a Thanksgiving flare, but the closest we have is the Moa. Hmmm... that has potential. :)
• December -- for this joyous season, we have already seen seasonally-inspired tonics, but there are many, many other options for that month. Personally I want to be a shimmering Dwayna, but we'll see.

In short, I can't wait to see what's coming, but so far, it's allll about the Rifts for me. ;) -- Gaile 20:38, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

SP's predictions

Well well I have a few!

• September: I honestly agree with Gaile, I think it will probably be a Charr tonic! The Charr homelands kinda remind me of fall sometimes so that is the reason chose them.
• October: Either the Orrian zombie dudes or Mad King Thorn; but I doubt it will be Mad King Thorn... I can see where that would get confusing at the halloween events lol.
• November: I would go with Phoenix (not the rainbow kind); I think they are closer to turkeys than Moas are :p.
• December: My guess would be a snowman or Freezie. Though I would also like to be an Avatar of Dwayna like Gaile!
• January: White Moa; awsome!
• Febuary: Some sort of Dragon....
• March: Rainbow Phoenix, since it is rainy in march in the U.S.
• April: GENDER CHANGING TONIC!
• May: SP tonic, cause thats my b-day month. But seriously, I would go with Igloba; april showers bring may flowers.

DJINNATONIC!!! It has a wicked cool name and it turns you into a ruby djinn =D how awesome is that?? Yeah, I know, it's super duper awesome. (If anyone doesnt get the reference, there's an alcoholic drink called gin and tonic (ginatonic)which sounds almost excactly the same as DJINNatonic =))

I have to say, there is something about the tonics that "float" or fly. I had entirely too much fun with my one hour of being an Awakened Head, and it was pretty much only the guildies and I messing around in the guild hall. (Yay Screenies..) But my favorite holiday and favorite month is Halloween in October, so I've got my fingers crossed for the King of all that is Halloween in GW. I am a major fan of the Hell Hound. In fact, one of my favourite screenshots of all time is this one with the horrific Hell Hound set against the lovely pastels of Kryta. (Not to mention my early Ranger looking heroic. :p ). This tonic is putting me into a terrible quandary, though, because I've been saving for months for next year's rotation of the Phantasm -- hoping for an Everlasting, of course -- and now I want the Everlasting Skeletonic, too!
