Best of luck and happy editing! — Rapta (talk|contribs) 12:46, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

Hi, i see you have started editing, i wont stop you its just that we have a formatiing style all npc need a certain template pls review it here, tnx and welcome ~ KurdKurdsig.png13:06, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

- Kurd. You smell. - Drago 13:07, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

Right, sorry about the editing, I was a being silly and assumed that the existing henchman articles were done in the proper style guidelines. HeWhoIsPale 13:11, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
Unfortunately it is inevitable that some articles were started before the style guidelines were finalised. as a result there articles that already exist that are not in the style that is preferred and no one has gotten around to fixing them yet. You did nothing wrong :) but now you know where to find the correct format and all is good in the world again hehe --Lemming64 13:14, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

NPC articles[edit]

Heya. The NPC infobox was changed a few days ago. The icon= parameter isn't used anymore, since the profession= parameter will also add the icon. Plus, now the infobox will automatically categorise the NPC by profession as well, so any manually entered prof cats, (like Category:Warriors) can be omitted. Cheers! :) --Dirigible 16:52, 28 April 2007 (EDT)

Really? I just kept adding it since I didn't see icons, I'll keep that in mind from now on. Thanks. HeWhoIsPale 16:54, 28 April 2007 (EDT)
That's probably because since the infobox now autolinks the profession, the manually linked profession=Warrior entries break it, showing no icon.
By the way, the type= parameter has also been deprecated. For bosses now we use boss=y, and for service NPC we use service=Armorer. --Dirigible 17:00, 28 April 2007 (EDT)
Good to know. HeWhoIsPale 17:01, 28 April 2007 (EDT)
One last thing and I'll shut up, I promise! :)
For the NPC locations, using NPC location can be a good idea, since it'll also add the article to the appropriate location categories, so those don't have to be entered manually either. For example, instead of
* Ascalon
** Regent Valley
try using
* Ascalon
** Regent Valley
This will also add the article to Category:Regent Valley NPCs, plus it allows us to change how those categories are structured in the future (say if we decide to start using the word "creatures" instead of "NPCs", or split explorables from mission areas, both issues which have been discussed a few times). --Dirigible 17:07, 28 April 2007 (EDT)
Weeeee colons! I like that bit o' wiki magic. The "type" tags were mostly left over from when the article creator made all the Grawl articles, I wasn't sure what they did, so I left them alone (They were also all location-stubs too oddly enough). HeWhoIsPale 17:12, 28 April 2007 (EDT)

Unlinked vs. No Attribute[edit]

What's the rational for adding 'attribute = Unlinked' to the skills? The default is 'No Attribute' which is shown automatically when the attribute parameter is not in the skill box. Has there been an discussion about changing from No Attribute to Unlinked? And besides... it broke my skill harvesting scripts! :) Cloud 09:19, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

While nosing around the empty categories I noticed that there was an empty "Unlinked skills" category and that the various unlinked skills didn't have an equivalent category. So in a fit of boldness I decided to be helpful. HeWhoIsPale 11:52, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
It was certainly bold :) It also moved them out of their profession categories however... Wild Blow is no longer in Warrior skills for example. Populating Unlinked Skills is a good idea, I'm going to see if there's another way to go about it. Cloud 14:04, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Its being discussed in Template_talk:Skill_infobox, feel free to join in if you're still feeling bold ;) Cloud 14:57, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

I bid thee ado[edit]

Also, what is wrong with your page? I have to use Horizontal Scroll bar, which is a pain. Readem (talk*gwwcontribs) 23:45, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

His page fits perfectly on a 1280x1024 display. And to talk to you in a way i know you're familiar with: If it's a pain for you...deal with it. --ChronicinabilitY User Chronicinability Spiteful Spirit.jpg 23:50, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Lol, you act as if what I said was offensive. I just said it to help, not hurt. But, continue to watch my contribs, or w/e you are currently doing. Gives me a chuckle ;). Readem (talk*gwwcontribs) 02:20, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Unnecesary revert[edit]

Unwaking Waters can be acquired if you make the Kurzick side. Since you exit from Harvest Temple. Although Unwaking waters is part of th Jade side, it's available to BOTH sides. MithranArkanere 02:39, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

My bad, I've never tried that. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 16:07, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Archiving redudant conversation[edit]

Mursaat[edit]

the mursaat summoned is i agree, a reward for defeating every opponent in polymock.

but polymock is about polymorphy, changing aspect, it has nothing to do with a sill that summon another creature.

polymocks appearance have polymocks only skills, the summoned mursaat has enervating charge, like a real mursaat elementalist.

but because it's the air summoned it don't have two spells, it's logical between the imp and the jinn, that's why thy don't have spectral agony ( and it would have been a far too powerfull summon )

polymock has nothing to do, it's a mini game, it has no more link with pve game than the dwarven brawling. lussh 14:07, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

See Talk:Mursaat for my argument/evidence. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 14:08, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

i found my arguments better. I'm basing my results from the in game tests, descriptions and results, not from user talks. if i should keep onlt one argument, i would say that the desciption of the skill is not "summon a polymorphic piece that look like a mursaat" but "summon a mursaat" lussh 14:14, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

I made a last modification, i hope you'd like it, otherwise do what you want. lussh 14:37, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Serpent axe[edit]

Hey, why was a serpent axe page changed? Lol, it is a bit expensive and popular (never been on guru or price check? Y was skin section removed?MatEjOfSTPF 16:57, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

I removed the comment about it being expensive because as a rule we don't document the player-driven economy of the game since it changes so much. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 17:56, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
And is too much of a target for vandalism. Calor - talk 20:52, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
True, unscrupulous editors could state that (for example) Elemental Swords have a low value on it's article page so they can quickly buy several below market price from less-savvy players. The most we document are the relative rarities of types of items, with maybe a note that an item is popular with players (such as on the Elemental Sword page). - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 21:01, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Kk then. MatEjOfSTPF 18:27, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Nice Character Page[edit]

Hey man, think I can borrow the elements you used to display your characters? --User:DesiAdame 02:41, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. Go ahead, I always abide by the first rule on the editing page 'If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed by others, do not submit it.' - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 12:50, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

skill icon template in notes section[edit]

i someday had the same problem with another suer (sry that i do not mind who you were dud >.<). he said there's no problem with using it. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 20:33, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

I generally prefer the skill icons for lists, like skills used or related skills, and links for notes and descriptions. I'm not going to get into a revert-war (or even a revert-police-action) over it, but I generally edit articles I randomly come across to match the formatting I like when there's no accepted standard. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 21:05, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

FYI[edit]

You may mean well, but according to the Voting Section (#2) of the Election Policy comments are not allowed on the voting pages, just on the talk pages. Just a friendly FYI.  :) ~ User:J.Kougar J.Kougar 00:32, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, last time I electioned voting justifaction was expected. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 00:38, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Asuran Summon Triva[edit]

I noticed you added the flowing trivia to the 4 asuran summon skills. "This spell, like other Asuran summon skills, actually summons and animates a Polymock piece instead of the real creature." Mind telling me where you found this bit of trivia? ~ Zero rogue x 22:55, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

See Talk:Mursaat. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 02:39, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree[edit]

with your request on Cursed Angel's page to stop using the word "gay" as an all-purpose adjective for something that s/he doesn't like. It's clear that CA is young and lacks maturity (i.e. creating a bureaucrat election page because s/he was bored?), but it needed to be said. Props to ya! ;) Kokuou 22:46, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Plagueborn Focus[edit]

Well, i tried to describe it diffrent then the usual "other items with this appearance" note, as it uses the same model shape, but actually not the same skin: the Stygian Daggers use it twice for both hands, and the focus use/is only one. Suggest these two articles should be rewrited. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 18:50, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Fair enough, how's that? - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 19:00, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
thats nice. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 21:26, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

"non-special" weapon drops[edit]

why not? information is always useful, and don't also every weapon skin page list all locations and foes? —ZerphatalkThe Improver 18:27, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Guild_Wars_Wiki:Formatting/NPCs#Items_dropped says so. Basically since non-specific weapon skins can be dropped by anyone. Listing all of them on every creature's page would be, to say the least, cumbersome. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 18:32, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
cumbersome, yes^^ but there isn't any weapon that can really be dropped by all creatures, or am i wrong? Well, i already knew that GWW:Formatting says diffrent things, but i thought the things written there are not steady, and may vary as such? —ZerphatalkThe Improver 21:14, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Anna[edit]

what is up with "Anna" on your character's names? Dang, I should put my character's names on my page too.--ShadowFog 19:48, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

I like the name and I'm not that creative. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 19:54, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
hey while we're at characters and their favourite skills, Barbs was my favourite skill for a longer time as well :] —ZerphatalkThe Improver 21:16, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
I usually run Barbs with a minion master hero and a pair of paragons with IAS. Now that's damage output. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 01:08, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
yeah, it is. Well, you won't be able to exactly order your minions to attack your most wanted target, but still great. Same with Mark of Pain, this can become a slaughter, but regrettably this will cause the foes to spread out...but well, kiting foes are harmless foes. :D —ZerphatalkThe Improver 19:40, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

i think you are confused...[edit]

You edited the map order on Facet of Spirit guide without knowing what's going on so I'll explain them to you.

 • first person that found the location #4 according to the text named their image to Facet_of_Spirit_1.jpg
 • second person that found the location #1 named their image to Facet_of_Spirit_2.jpg
 • I found location #2 and named the image with Facet_of_Spirit_map3.jpg

You re-arranged them according to their image names, that's not the case though.. do you mind reverting it back? thnx!--Ridz16 00:51, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

nevermind I let the sysop know about your action and someone reverted it back.--Ridz16 03:53, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Hmm does it really matter which way round they are? It does make sense to order them by their image name too -- and then reorder the text as necessary. I'm a little confused, myself, but I think it's fine either way: whether they are ordered by their image name or by some other way. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 11:58, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
I really don't see the point in keeping the possible random spawns labeled like that, especially since we seem to have a #4 without a #3, but whatever. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 11:59, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
