FYI on my Purple Paw Print[edit]

This is just a quick FYI for anyone whom might think I copied the image I personally made for my signature, or that might think I copied the idea for it from another user. This is not the case. I actually have a small purple paw-print similar to the one in my signature, tattooed on the left side of my groin, just above the hairline. It's been there for years, and I've used a purple paw-print with that shade of purple on many many things of mine for even longer than I've had the tattoo. So yea, incase anyone is wondering, I'm not copying anyone else with it, and any similarities of it to the user signature images of others is purely coincidence (except for the user Sabastian who is my finace and who I made a blue version of my signature image for him to use here). ~ User:J.Kougar J.Kougar 22:31, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Gush a u gay??? and what do you have vs. teenagers? cck lckr =) --Anele MeaTalk 18:44, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I thought it was pretty obvious, but yes I am gay. Why? As for teenagers, well, I didn't relate to them very well when I was one, and the youth of today seems to be more obnoxious, more annoying, and more immature than any generation before it. My generation was bad, but I can't imagine having to grow up with children how they are today. Because I've never been tolerant of ignorance, immaturity, poor grammar, or obnoxious blowhards... I have even more trouble tolerating the youth of today. Given the majority of the players still playing Guild Wars seem to be in the teenage age bracket, and exhibit the traits mentioned above, I have issues dealing with them. ~ User:J.Kougar J.Kougar 03:19, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Alanis Morissette needs to pick up a dictionary. Those aren't ironic at all. :/ --71.229.204.25 03:26, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Ironic: humorously sarcastic or mocking; "dry humor";.... You're late so you have it bad, but to mock you the cosmos creates a traffic jam - making you further late. People need to stop using tried, old and false criticisms. 122.104.227.103 17:35, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Your userboxes about GW being a failure[edit]

Tbh, those mark the greatest irony... You spent 7.5 hrs/day on Guild Wars. And all the while; it's imbalanced (because Izzy phails), waste of money, GW:EN sucks, PvP sucks, Buying extra accounts and character slots sucks (I even never bought any of these extra), but still! You're (or 've been) playing it for more than 7 hrs/day! I don't get it. Also, I hate it when people whine over a game which "sucks", but, it's actually their own fault, because they overplayed it.

Professions nerfed to the point they were no longer playable? Ritualists you mean? Because of the Exhaustion nerf/tone down on Rt Spike? Why are 9/10 flagrunners Rt's then? Why is there Mend Body and Soul and Spirit Transfer still so incredibly good healing (even on a Necro, without runes)? http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_Ritspike_Redone Paragons? http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_Zerg_IWAY Necromancer Soul Reaping nerfed? Is that the reason you think they're useless? http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_IV_Spike etc etc etc. Please tell me, what class is useless?

BTW, Izzy isn't human? He can't make mistakes about 2 skills, while there are thousands of them? He is sort of PR, not an MD in GW. For example, I just recently found out GW holds a track on what amount of Faction you've earned, in stead of (what I thought) Faction spent. After 2 years, UAX and top level GvG, I recently found that out. Does that mean that I don't know what I'm talking about? Does that mean I don't know how Faction works?

Sorry for the rant, but I just couldn't help responding to this much overabuse. If a game sucks so much, don't play it, and don't whine about it. Because saying a game sucks, but playing that same sucky game for 7k+ hrs and then being so hatred about it? That's something I'd call obnoxious. And if you don't want to deal with "obnoxious teenagers", get off of the internet then.

Nifty site you have though, and gg on the multi-profession ranger.

Peace and best of luck. BlazeRick 19:55, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

I used to enjoy Guild Wars. The game used to have endless possibilities and fun classes that you could play in sooo many ways. The original game wasn't so limited as it is now, you didn't used to be forced into one or two possible rolls for a class and only a few usable skill sets. I used to enjoy Guild Wars a lot, but over two years ago the only way for me to have more than the basic four character slots (since they weren't sold back then) was to buy multiple copies of the game. I did so because I wanted to play every class, sometimes more than one character for each class because the leveling and PvE was so much fun back then. Then I ended up getting a few more for storage and such, and my fiance of course wanted his own accounts, despite us sharing everything in game. So that led to many accounts, but when Guild Wars decided to start releasing expansions, we wanted to get them for all the accounts, so that our favorite characters from across them could access the new content. Factions was a pretty big failure, we saw that right off, but it brought some new things and some good skills to the game, so no big deal. Then came Nightfall. Nightfall ended up being horrid, very much so, the Heroes being the only decent thing from it, but since it failed so badly and ended up in the clearance bins right after it's release, we ended up getting copies of it for all the accounts, since twenty bucks was much more tolerable than what we had to pay for the first couple copies we got. The only reason we picked up a few copies of GWEN was because it was Tyria based, and we hoped in a small way, that it might be good. It could have, if they'd not been so cheap and lazy and released it half-done with half the content they promised, but they obviously don't plan to fix any of that now. Izzy destroying the playability of classes like the Rit, Assassin, Necro, Paragon, etc. with poorly done nerfs intended to keep each class able to only do one or two different things, with one or two viable skill sets, is the biggest issue.
So, as you can see, it was a gradual thing. The spending of more than a thousand dollars on the game (I bought too many characters slots too), as well as the steady decline to the game's playability and the enjoyment gotten from playing the game as more and more limitations were put into place, and more and more of the skills and possibilities were destroyed, leaving the mess the game is today.
That is why I don't play anymore actually, except on Tuesday nights for about an hour. You see, I found Rappelz (rappelz.com) back in November, and it's not only a totally Free game with no purchases ever necessary, but it's got far better graphics, the skills and usable and balanced, and the general player base is mature, friendly, and far superior to the kids you find playing Guild Wars these days. The only issue with Rappelz is that for about an hour every Tuesday night they go down for server maintenance and new patches. I use that hour to play Guild Wars so that I don't feel all my time, money, and effort I put into this game was a total loss.  :) ~ User:J.Kougar J.Kougar 21:34, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
EVE Online has a 1 hour downtime every day. People don't really seem to mind much, they use that time for various activities such as going to the washroom, looking at the outside world from a window, and preparing another 23-hours worth of cornflakes and milk. --Dirigible 21:53, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Ha ha. If you can't tell from the horribly outdated photo on my user page, I'm not your average lazy fat ass gamer who weighs 300 lbs and sits in front of the computer all day long. I don't look like Izzy, I could never live with myself if I did.  ;) I'm 120 lbs of lean and decently defined Grade-A homosexual. I hike, camp, fish, and spend more time out doors that most people, and I workout daily. Yes, I no longer have to work for a living and as such I have more free time than your average Joe, but as a gay man you have to know that I make sure to get in plenty of time shopping and otherwise having fun.  ;) I also have an odd sleeping pattern, which leaves me up till the early morning and often playing games on the computer through the night, and as such I'm almost always online when they do maintenance and whatnot. Eight hours of gaming a day seems like a lot, but it's not really an every day thing and not nearly as much as even a normal job. Besides the averages are all off because sometimes my fiance and I do take a weekend or such and just get on the computer and play for twelve hours at a time before taking a meal break, and then start up again. It's something fun to do on occasion when you have a fun game to play and the time to do it... but it's not even remotely a common thing. I also play more online when the weather is bad or cold and it's more of a hassle to be outdoors, but I'm hardly your typical overweight computer geek.  ;) User:J.Kougar J.Kougar 01:06, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
What shocks me is how you looked at a game as an investment rather than playing for the moment. No game can last forever and will become old or too different at different rates for different people. Eventually everyone moves on, so why look at it as money wasted, rather than times well spent, when you did enjoy it. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 23:21, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
I bought Resident Evil 2 years and years ago, and it's still a lot of fun to play, no matter how many times I've played it. It's still worth the money I put into it. I bought Jagged Alliance 2 and it was a great game, but there were some issues and such and they made some patches that you could download to fix and improve the game. They didn't destroy the game over time, the game didn't end up being less fun because of idiotic changes being put into effect by people who aren't qualified to make decisions about them. The games are still fun, despite the age of them or the changes made. Guild Wars is still a little bit of fun, but it's hard to play and keep your spirits up about it when you can clearly remember how great the game used to be and how many options it had and how much potential it had to be great. The fact that they are abandoning Guild Wars and letting it go down in flames because they don't care anymore and they only want to work on Guild Wars 2 now, really looks bad on them and should clue everyone in that they will do the same thing once again. Even if they do manage to have enough of a willing player base to buy GW2, and they manage to make a decent game of it, why should we think that they won't just run it into the ground again and then walk away when it gets too far beyond repair?
Instead of coming up with real balances and fixes, Izzy just Nerfs everything. Look at the Spirit Spamming issue, how long did that go on before Izzy did something about it, and when he did it was just a generic and poorly implemented knee-jerk nerf that almost destroyed a class instead of him knowing anything about the skills and actually balancing them. Then look how long it took to fix it, and they never did fully fix it. It's still horribly screwed up. The same thing goes for the way Izzy handles everything when someone whines because they are getting tired of seeing a particular skill because it's fun and "played to much", and he rushes to nerf it and add more limitations instead of better balancing other skills to make them viable too, so that there are more fun and useful options available, and more of a variety of skills being played.
Games don't have to be fun and then run into the ground and destroyed after a while. They should be fun until people simply lose interest or move onto something newer. If I buy a game and enjoy it and then it fades away later for lack of interest then I don't complain, but to have something that should still be a great game, destroyed because of incompetent staff and decisions, well yea, that kinda irks me and leaves me feeling ripped-off. ~ User:J.Kougar J.Kougar 01:06, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Sorry I should have been more clear, I was referring purely to MMORPG's because of the nature of how they evolve. A typical game like resident evil 2 isn't going to change much over time, there may be patches to PC versions, but anything on a console is static. However in MMORPG's as I am sure you are aware they constantly undergo change and balance which is usually and mostly due to the userbases' request, or to fix a problem with some new expansion you have released, etc etc. Thus the people who played at the beginning and "remember the good old days" become more and more alienated. This happened to me in Ultima Online and Dark age of Camelot, and generally I would say if a game goes on for long enough it will probably happen to everyone eventually. My point is you did get enjoyment out of the game, by your own admission. And other people still get enjoyment out of the game now, different though it may be. So ultimately with all MMORPG's you need to enjoy the time you have while it is a game you like, and face the fact that it WILL change. If you want a static game, pick another genre. Every message board about any MMORPG is full of people complaining about changes, which always makes me laugh because that is the nature, I guarantee that for every person that is complaining vocally another will be cheering silently. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 17:26, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Also nay offense mate but I've played Rappelz and the graphics were horrid, the game play dull and repetitive and as an idea in general was just very reminiscent of a Korean Grind-a-thon. the people i met were nice there but aside from that theirs only a certain number of "Go here and kill X number of Y" quests one can do before it all gets frightfully dull. I do concede though that izzy isn't making the best job in the world of skill balances. I'm normally reticent of insulting his actions, but over the past year the game mechanics have become stale due to the ever increased nerfing forcing pvpers to run certain key builds. However i still love Guild Wars, it's pretty with enough variation of things to do to keep me interested. -- Salome User salome sig.png 03:57, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
