User talk:Karlos/Why I left
Thank you.[edit]
Karlos,
I personally would like to thank you for writing this - while I may not agree with some of your views, it's more than one could ask to explain oneself before one departs. Propaganda, death throws, whatever - I could care less, because if there's one thing that I do respect from you it's your commitment to what you think is right - if you discuss a point, I know you're not simply fooling around, and if nothing else, it motivates me to take a closer look at my own views.
So while I disagree with you regarding the sysop/bureaucrat balance, and matters such as the irc channel, I'd still like to thank you for putting the effort forth. Regardless of the final outcome, everything along the way has its own impact, some of them more subtle but showing up in the long run. Perhaps that will be the case here, perhaps not - time will tell, I suppose.
I'm not going to debate the points you put forward in your article here, it'd be doing both a disservice to you and this isn't the place - those debates are already ongoing elsewhere - so I'll leave it at "thank you". Even if there have been plenty of times that I've wished you never entered a discussion, or wondered "why can't he just give it up already", "why couldn't he be a bit more tactful" - thank you.
Sincerely,

Sad[edit]
It's sad to see it turn out this way. I wish you the best of luck (and hope to see you make a comeback). With regards to content, there's nothing wrong with it and I'm sure I won't be the only one watching it to make sure it stays. -- ab.er.rant 02:52, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- Its even more sad that he's right, this is wiki going to be like US politics. What Karlos fears -> 12 3 4 ~ Kurd 21:33, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
