Ministry NPC articles[edit]
Actually, they are still stubs because some of them have dialogues when allied. Or rather, it's less stub, and more "research needed." There's only 3 such quests perhaps? Konig/talk 00:48, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, you have this guys as allies for 3 quests, but i can recall tryng to speak with them and get nothing as a response; unfortunatley i can't go check myself because i've finished pt2 with all my pgs. I think the "dialogues" you get in those quests are actually the same you get when they are your enemies, that is their aggro shouts --Kyx 01:01, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
Missing icon?[edit]
I dunno if you intended this: [[Image:User_Kyx_signature_Skull.gif|19px]]
shows as a broken link to me. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:24, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
- Short answer: my sign img was deleted because of an unproven accusation; Long aswer: go here [1].
- The funny thing is that on the other wiki it hasn't been deleted yet, but here it was cancelled in less than a day. --Kyx 21:31, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the background. GW2W doesn't have very much traffic, so perhaps folks aren't too bothered...yet.
- In the meantime, it's very distracting: could you fix your signature so that it doesn't have a redlink? (And, ideally, please redirect the above to the new image, to eliminate existing redlinks.) Thanks. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:44, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
- I don't have another image, nor i want it. I only want back my old img that was unjustly taken back from me. I left my sign in this was on purpose, as a memory, so the red link could remember me the injustice that i have suffered. When i'll get my hands on a stupid "declaration of GDFL" 8and i WILL find it) i'll re-upload the same picture. But, why the red link it's a problem? some users don't even have a user page. But still, if it's so problematic, i can upoad some "symbolic" text image --Kyx 22:55, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

- It's not the red, it's the way it presents itself. Silver Edge doesn't have a user page, but his name just looks red. In contrast, your signature looks like a typo at the moment. Rather than reading as a protest to injustice, it looks as if you aren't paying attention. (And, unlike red text, calls attention to itself b/c of its size shape... unless you intend to register an account as 19pxKyx.)
- So, yes, please fix it (or remove the link to the icon from the signature.). Thank you. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 23:03, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
- Ahhh, all right... But, i must ask, can i upload a bigger image? To be specific, a 100x45 (5.1kb) image? Of course on the signature it would be still displayed as 19px (it will look horrible and incomprehensible, but wathever....) --Kyx 23:17, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

- According to policy, it has to be 19x19 (max). Those of us who use WikEd would find an oversize image even more distracting. Soz. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 23:40, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
- ç_O -(with a tone similar to a crying protesting child) But noticed that some people have a 64x64 signature!- Mine would only be longer.. And by the way, the parameter "|19px" doesn't force it to be displayed as 19px, regardless of its true dimension? --Kyx 23:48, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

- <offers hanky> TBH, I only notice sig images when they make it hard to read someone's name or post. (I sometimes wish I chose a shorter nom de web b/c it uses more screen real estate than I like.) If someone is using 64x64, you can drop a note on their talk page reminding them of the policy (or tell an admin and ask them to deal with it).
- In this case, I take notice of what you write because I'm interested in your ideas (in spite or perhaps because they often do not match my own). And, in this case, instead of paying 100% attention, I'm thinking about why is Kyx still missing an image. Makes me wonder if you have considered everything before posting (except I'm sure you have ...but then why haven't you updated...). You see the problem?
- On the technical issue: the 19px size is somewhat arbitrary — it's meant to avoid disrupting readability and to be easy to enforce (I just went back over the archives to see whether other ideas were restricted). You might try the larger image using the parm ...and see if anyone objects (and I can let you know if it wigs out my editing tool). Or you could just use one of free tools out there to shrink the image properly to 19px and never worry about it again. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:00, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- Here you go, a 19x19 image, as you wanted! Response for previous msg: i haven't uploaded anything yet because i'm too stubborn; and you know why i am stubborn? Because i'm feeling like if some random guy accused me and stealed my image, basically saying: "we can't trust your word ( but everyone can trust me when i make allegations against you)". And i can't just let them get away with that; so until i'll find a "declaration of GDFL" having a red link (for my point of wiew) it's a meaning of protest, and even a little revenge, without breaking the rules. If it was for me i would retaliate immediatley by vandalizing the accuser's page and immediatley re-upload the image, but i would be probably banned, and that's not my purpose (and it's also against the rules, wich i try to respect); instead, i try to "protest" and "retaliate" in the best way i can without breaking any rule (and that's because i care about the wiki. In the real life i'm not so polite as i am here) . That sums up all my "ideas". For mi sign i wanted to have this look like this: . in the end i opted to have it on display right in the front on my userpage.
- PS: my sign looks ok? it seems kinda "too large" to me. If it's not, feel fre to download it, resize it, and re-upload it. --Kyx 01:54, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- It looks much better; I no longer find my attention distracted away from your comment. Thanks for making the change (and thanks for the background; I suspected there was a good reason, but couldn't figure out what it might have been). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 03:01, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Princess Tahlkora[edit]
I removed the {{delete}} tag from Princess Tahlkora because it's rare that Konig and I both agree on retaining a trivial/trivia/minor-name redirect (and we did on this one). But that might have been premature, since you didn't get a chance to counter our reasoning.
If you do think it should still be deleted, please reply on the talk page and I will revert my removal (so no one can give you a hard time about the one revert rule). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:22, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
And what ...[edit]
... would be a proper name for an image? It would help if you put that kind of info on the upload page. But seriously, just delete it already. Amy Awien 20:59, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
- If you had read first the official policy you would know that; anyway, the name should be File:User yourname description of image.jpg. --Kyx 21:49, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
- It's more useful if you put policies were they can be found, like on the help, or better, on the upload page itself. One really can not know that there's some awkward rule and where to find it.
- Anyway, if you're going wiki-lawyer on me, it was not a user-page image. Amy Awien 22:06, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
Deletion tags[edit]
You don't have to upgrade a regular deletion tag to a speedy. After 3 days, it automatically gets a higher priority in the regular list. --JonTheMon 16:44, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
